The Lost & Found holds a warm fuzzy corner of my heart. Ive been going there for around 8 years now 1 or 2 times a month. Its a great place to loose whats bothering you and Find a hangover (Im nursing a L&F hangover as I wright this now) The place is the opposite of pretentious and the come as you are environment and mixed patronage is a breeding ground for good times. Best. Bar. Ever. Its only appropriate that my first review on Yelp is about this little gem. My first visit to this bar was thanksgiving day (yes they are open 365) at 2pm. I became enamored as soon as i walked in. Stiff drinks, friendly clientele, somewhat level pool table, and, less than a mile from my office. I think the office type chairs give this place a little charm to solidify its "dive" character. If you're coming here, you're coming for yeh wells drinks. Lots of whisky and scotch on hand. Super comfortable setting for groups, as I came here for a birthday gathering. Mellow, low-key and far from your typical bar in west LA. It's nice to have this as an alternative. Located right next to a bank in a strip mall, so the venue might throw you off a bit. Ample parking and pricing is cheap that you may leave a bigger tip than what you end up paying. Love this place, wonderful dive bar. Friendly staff except for the old man with the mustache. He's very rude. He refused to take off his gloves that had cleaning chemicals on them to make our drinks, I grabbed myself a clean straw that he didn't touch with those cloves. My friend asked to used the same glass for his 2nd drink and he gave us an attitude saying "that's not how I was trained." My friend asked for more water and he again gave us an attitude because he had to get up from his chair. We still left him a 20 percent tip, as we said good bye and Thank you the bartender said in the same rude tone "thanks for the few bucks." Visiting from out of town and looking for a casual fun spot for Friday night drinks. Lost & Found exceeded all expectations. It's a place for locals (they even display that month's birthdays on the board.) And it's a place where locals welcome newcomers. It took us one round to score seats at the bar and then we were in! Lost & Found is a grand old dive bar. There ain't nothing fancy about this place which makes it perfect for a guy like me. A friend of mine who lives on the West Side was insisting we go here as he had some "important stuff" to tell me so there we were enjoying stiff well drinks for a good price surrounded by older guys and pool table that I couldn't keep my eye from. He was telling me about some girl problems which weren't really problems as much as they were awesome encounters (look it up on Craigslist) Anyway after three drinks plus I had got to the pool table and somehow got my ear chewed off by a girl with the side of her head shaved. I think she was telling me something about tattoos, or modeling for art classes or something. My friend was making time with her friend and so he started buying us all drinks . . . I ate a lot of popcorn in attempts to not lose my coherence. I miss being able to stumble home and fall into bed or onto the floor. At some point I had to call my fiance to get picked up which got me in the dog house. So why only three stars when I had an adventure like that? It's a dive. If I lived anywhere near here I would grow old here. read more

I love dive bars because I am a cheap, poor college student and drinking is my favorite hobby. This place was perfection for me. Dingy and hoodrat, just the way I like it. The first time I came here was while bar hopping with two of my girls. Everyone was white and looked 100 years old. We were definitely out of place but whatever. No judgement. There was also a guy who looked exactly like Albert Einstein. Cool! The two bartenders working that night were really friendly and gave us drink suggestions while asking us 21 questions about our lives. I don't mind a good conversation every once in a while. It quickly became my new favorite bar. The second visit started off well. We spotted Albert Einstein right when we walked in. He must live there. We ordered drinks and decided to go to the restroom. We waited for nearly 10 min. I thought the girl in there was dying so I knocked and asked if she was okay. A fat guy opened the door. Me and my friend were like uhhh...? He starts telling us his life story. Marriage/family issues and so on. We felt bad so we listened to him ramble on. He then whipped out his bills and coke and offered us some. We declined as he quickly jumped on the self pity train claiming he was pathetic and useless. It was one of the creepiest experiences ever. Watching a fat English man snorting coke in the girls' bathroom really made me reevaluate my life choices. How did I end up here? What am I doing with my life? I really wanted to run but I was scared. We stood there paralyzed in fear until he asked for a "kiss" in his stupid accent. "All I want is a kiss!" All I want is for you and your teeth to return to the United Kingdom so I can pee. I guess someone saw him in there cuz security came in and told him he had to gtfo. Me and my friend took that as our opportunity to roll bounce. We ran out of that bar as fast as we could. I guess it's not the bar's fault this weirdo was there but I feel like it only happened cuz it's divey and shady shit happens at places like this. So yeah, minus one star for that horrid experience. I haven't been back since cuz I was too traumatized but I would like to... Someday. There's also a framed poster of puppies that reads "Lost and found" by the door -- like something you'd see on your dentist's ceiling-- a pool table, and some other ridiculous wall art. I'd probably give this place four stars simply for being a friendly dive bar full of normal people. The beers are cheap and unsurprising, the jukebox is called upon to play tunes that are reliably good, and the service is very good. As if these things weren't already exceptional in this quiet, upscale residential neighborhood on the westside, the fifth star is for the complete UNREALITY of this place--As you approach the intersection of Barrington and National, you see matching faux-colonial buildings on every corner--bricks and shingles, etc, housing a Starbucks, a WholeFoods, a Blockbuster. It's pristine and fake as anything. You walk through the entrance of Lost and Found and you have seriously transcended time and space: dark quilted pleather walls, mirrors, dark red glass fixtures--you should probably be in Appleton, WI, in 1970. Except it's not full of cigarette smoke, and the TV is showing Dodgers games rather than Packers. I write this review fully aware of the futility of lauding the authenticity of this place in regard to its Colonial Corners exterior, and fully aware of the inevitable contradiction in praising a "real" dive bar that's full of older, working-class regulars rather than young white hipsters. It is of course only members of this latter group, myself more or less included, who write such things on Yelp. NEVERTHELESS, in LA, where everything is an inorganic imitation of something else from another time or place, this particular juxtaposition is intriguing. And given your other options on the Westside, the bar itself is a satisfying place to go. Just don't bring too many of your friends. read more

Best bar I've been to in years. They have liquor, beer, and mixers if you don't want to do shots. The separate bathrooms for men and women was a bit strange, but I was able to overlook that with their great juke box selection. I danced with a lovely woman named Chloe. I love to come here in the mornings for a nice drinks and to watch some Fresh Prince of Bel Air (I don't have cable). Nail salon next door is a great bonus too. Made a couple bad decisions there, but that's what you get for putting a nail salon right next to a great bar. read more

An unpretentious, chill dive bar with cheap drinks in the middle of West LA? Yes! Lost & Found reminded me of local bars I've visited in smaller cities and towns. Wide variety of customers of all ages, races, and walks of life. It was moderately busy on a Friday night. All seats were taken but it wasn't so packed you couldn't stand around. Cash only, luckily there's a Chase right next door. $4 for a vodka cranberry. Bottled beers only. Mostly country and classic rock purchased on the jukebox with a few hip hop throwbacks. Eventually someone trolled with Taylor Swift, and people were not thrilled, but no huge deal. FYI: we bought songs and 3 hours later they still hadn't been played, so be forewarned if you put money in. This is the type of bar I prefer. We'll be back. read more

I love this place. It reminds me of any number of bars one might find anywhere in the midwest: A classic, chill bar, serving its purpose of pouring drinks for patrons and providing a pleasant-enough environment to do so. Bartenders are always friendly, and a glass of Dewars will set you back a whole four bucks. I don't get all this 'dive bar' stuff I'm seeing here in reviews. I always thought a dive bar was a place with dirty concrete floors, broken or otherwise uncomfortable seating, loud shitty music, and drunk assholes picking fights. I've never seen any of that at Lost n Found. The place is clean, carpeted, and very chill for the most part. But yes: It's in a strip mall next to a Blockbuster, and it's not, like, full of hot young things or anything. Lastly: I'm a funny guy, and I'm not afraid to be rude at all...In fact, I get into trouble for it sometimes. But I, for one, am not amused by the references in some prior reviews to this place being filled with alcoholics and dispensing worldly advice to them about what losers they are. I'm not an alcoholic, but I know and care about lots of them, as I'm sure you do, too. Everybody has their problems, and you're welcome to make fun of your own, but to pick on someone for being an addict is just shitty. You could so easily be next. Have a fuckin' heart. Definitely a hidden treasure in West L.A . You would never expect this place being in a strip mall next to a Blockbuster in this area. The definition of a dive. I came here with a friend who suggested it was good and it was like nothing I've experienced before. All of the clientele seem to be middle aged alcoholics who frequent the place regularly, don't be surprised if a few of them randomly strike up a conversation with you, they were very friendly though. This is a great place to watch a game and hang out. They have a pool table and always have free popcorn. The free popcorn is always at this place but what really made this an awesome experience was the night I went there was an entire buffet of FREE delicious food brought by the elderly owner and his wife, if thats not service nothing is! This is a great little dive bar! It looks nice and pricey from the outside, but as soon as I get past the doors, I feel like I'm in a little local bar up in the mountains.
