We ordered 5 kegs for our wedding and spoke with Jacqueline several times via phone and email. We went to pick up the kegs and they told us we needed a $875 CASH deposit to be able to pick up the kegs but I was never made aware of this! They refused to take a credit card number to keep on file and said they only accepted cash and that they would give it back when we dropped the kegs off. After arguing for awhile, they finally just charged the 875 to our card and made us give them $50 cash deposit instead. Jacqueline told us the $50 AND $875 would be refunded after dropping off the kegs and we made sure to get it in writing. After we arrived to drop off our kegs, Scott said he "refused" to give us the $50 back and told us it was a "fee". I would stay far away from this company, the employees and the way they do business is pretty sketch. read more

Amazing vibes! My sister and I dropped by yesterday just after 4 pm, and the place was pretty empty. I really wanted to do a tour but realized the last tour left at 4 pm. I quickly asked whether the tour had left already, and Kimmy at the register was kind enough to give my sister and I a tour right there on the spot! Tour: I'm curious about how beer is made, and the machinery used, so I enjoyed it. I loved hearing the stories of the founder Barbara. I'd skip this if you don't really care about the beer making process. Beer: I had a flight consisting of the Great White, Tangerine Wheat, Fogcutter, and the 8-Ball stout. My favorite was the Tangerine Wheat! Delicious aroma! The others were good as well, but the Tangerine Wheat stood out the most. Gift shop: Fair prices, and they have an extensive selections of merchandise and bottles to go ;) I was only visiting the area, but I'd come back more often if I lived closer. We had just got off the treacherous Lost Coast Trail the day before our visit to Lost Coast Brewery to enjoy some victory beer. Well we scored a second victory with the help of Scot who really treated us right and gave us some killer recommendations we likely would have passed up otherwise. The Scottish ale was killer!! Big shout out for going above and beyond to hook us up with a flight of Beer Floats! (Four stouts on menu and four glasses in a flight... it was meant to be!) this really made the whole visit so memorable. The PB stout was my personal favorite We loved the chips and salsa & it was really a steal at $7.50 for a large bag of tasty tortilla chips and big tub of irresistible salsa. No self-respecting brewery would ever play fm radio. How is a new customer expected to like a brewery without the taste of their beer?! This is unheard of in the Shire! You most certainly are welcomed into any establishment with at least the option to taste the options! Think about it.... This is a penny pinching company that doesn't serve free beer samples with tours. I normally will drink a pint or two after a brewery tour, but it's a bad sign when the management doesn't even feel proud enough to share the product with the customer. The Lost Coast Brewery is a sterilized environment without passionate employees. The 4" bar to stand and drink at was unusual. The fluorescent lighting put out the wrong vibe. By the way, ice cream and root beer don't belong at a brewery. This is not the place for beer drinkers. It's just the worst. read more

Nice place, giant tanks, cool gift shop with lots of options, some cool different beers on tap, staff was friendly they have ice cream and chips and salsa if you want a snack, games, tours start at 2 but they open at 12, the flight is 4 tasters for 6 bucks and you can get anything they are pouring. read more

Their flight of beer is not for the faint of heart. Lol. It includes 10 pre selected delicious beers. My boyfriend and I couldn't even finish them all but we also had to stay sober for our drive back to LA. I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was delicious! Brought me right back to NOLA. Date and time of visit - Saturday 03/23/2018 @ 3:10 pm This is a cool place but we were bummed we missed the tour. Tours on Saturday are 2pm & 5pm (per Dylan L/cashier). I checked on the website and there is a place where you can schedule a tour but no place that lists the times of the regular tours. Anyway, where was I...oh yeah, this is a cool place with cornhole games and some rope ladder game out in front. Tables and chairs are also out front in case you want to grab a brew and just relax with friends. The inside of the store has all the cool brewery merch like t-shirts, magnets, hoodies, and canned/bottled beer. The store also sells their own root beer!!! The taproom has a whole row of their beer and it's heavenly. You can order pints or samplers. If you have people coming in from out of town, this is a "must stop at" type of place for any beer lover. It's uniquely Humboldt County and one of the best things about Eureka. read more

Stopped in while on a road trip with my bf and enjoyed some delicious beer and an awesome tour of the Brewery. They offer a flight sampler which we both enjoyed. The tour guide was great I wish I remembered his name. You can drink during the tour and the tour itself was complimentary. You can see how everything is produced and packaged from start to finish. There are also lawn games outside and dogs are welcome. Very cool facility and a fun stop on our trip! read more

I have been a fan and supporter of lost coast brewery for about 12 years I have taken all my closest friends here and enjoyed the inviting at Atmosphere until the last two times I've noticed "The Change". This occurs when small modest businesses reach heightened success to the point of loosing sight of the "little guys". Besides the inflated prices and inattentive staff. My youngest brother chose to come here for his 21st birthday. He received a growler from a relative for a gift. Bringing in the growler to get refilled at the sight they told him they told him they would not wash or exchange it. It was his problem it wasn't clean. Wow. Best tasting beer I have ever drank or is that drunk? Either way this beer is amazing. No bad after taste and goes down smooth with a hint of tangerine - that is if you drink their tangerine wheat. The restaurant I often visit to drink this beer Brixx woodfired pizza runs out of this on tap at least once a month because they have a worthless rep. I've talked to one of the partners of the Brixx restaurant and he said it's the best selling beer at his establishment by far. read more

Had a great tour today from Dylan! We were able to bring a pint on the tour, which was super awesome also! Tour was informative and interesting. Went to the bar and had a flight. EVERYONE was sooo friendly!! I seriously would come back again. We're from out of town and weren't sure where to grab some seafood, and we got some great recommendations. Went in and had their sampler. Best selection of sampler I had so far in a restaurant even though I am not the biggest fan of beer. You get a wide range from light wheat beer to dark coffee beer. Nice to try if you love experiencing new types of beer. read more

My wife and I stopped here to get a beer. It was our first time there. The artwork and setup was amazing. The gift shop was organized and it was easy to find some beer merch we were impressed with. The bartenders ( I believe their names were Ashley and Angie.....) had great personalities and were super helpful and professional. They had oldies music on which is rare in today's world. Overall the environment was awesome, the customer service was amazing and the selection of both beers and merchandise was to die for. This is a must see stop if you want friendly outgoing people serving you and excellent selections of both beer and merch. Pros: Delicious food, fun atmosphere, local beer Cons: some staff seems annoyed at having to work and being in a busy environment, long wait for food, and rather high prices for what you get. Overall I do like going to this restaurant for the food, if I have the patience to wait for it. This place was awesome. The merchandise store was loaded with stuff, and the prices weren't completely insane. The beer selection for take home was pretty vast, I think it had like everything they ever made. The Beer was amazing. I love wheat beers and they had 5 of them on tap! 5! I also got some other beers too though. I ended up doing 2 samplers (4 per sampler) so I tried 8 different flavors, and enjoyed them all. My wife also got 2 samplers and she was very happy as well. The Brewery Tour was way cooler than I was expecting, it was packed with cool info, and showed you all the aspects of the brewery. Even my 9 year old daughter loved it. Which showed on her Instagram account :) Definitely stop here if you love beer and are rolling through/near Eureka! read more

Let me start by saying I'm not much of a beer drinker and I have 2 small kids. Our experience was great! The service is good and friendly, the servers very knowledgeable. My husband and father in law ordered the taster flight (10 tasters for $16!) and I found a beer that I liked well enough to order a pint and get a bottle to go (I'm looking at you Raspberry Wheat!). The food was good and came out quickly. It is a kid friendly establishment which I was really happy to see. We will definitely be going back when we're in the area. read more

Went here on a Sunday. Place was a ghost town. It's a huge place. Cool novelty lost ghost shark out front to take pics with. The bar area is wierd. No seats and big emptybatea in middle. Beer? Just ok. They did have a pilot ipa and that was probably their best beer. Their merchandise is arguably better than their beer. With all these fantastic micro breweries popping up weekly, I think they should really start making new beer to compete because it was clear by going to a couple breweries in the area that people aren't feeling this one. read more

Having been to the restaurant earlier in the day, and having seen the sign touting beer and ice cream, I decided another tasting of Lost Coast Brewery was in order. After our tour of the Carson Mansion, and wandering around downtown Eureka, and driving over here, a cold beverage and creamy treat sounded pretty good. We snagged a ticket to the last tour of the day, and joined the already-in-progress group who had just left the booth. They were in the process of the hands-on smelling stuff starting portion of the tour. We were then led on another awesome tour of beer and learning and goodness. We learned of the beer's history. We learned how quickly the fledgling company had grown into it's current size. We saw some of the technology used to brew the beer. We were told about the packaging process, and the great big aging tanks. We were even was pointed out the tiny lil brewery for the root beer! We photographed the great hanging shark machine that was actually used in a local race of some kind, and informed about it's sad watery fate. Even read about it in the article that was posted on the wall. After we wandered through the brewery and informed about all the things and processes, we were led to the guest room, where we were told about the banquets you could totally hire this place out for. Oh, and also the graveyard that was surrounding the place. Good thing they didn't dig up the graves to build the place. That sounds like it could be a crazy Sci-Fi movie. Dying for a beer? Heh. I'd probably watch it. Anyhoo. We were then led down through the lobby back to the place the tour started. There, we were told to belly up to the bar to try a flight of beers for just a few dollars. We were given a list, and told we could try the root beer. I paid the fee and picked out the beers I wanted to try. There was some confusion about what was available, and the three girls now behind the bar sorted it out and I had a flight before too long. Strawberry, 8Ball, FogCutter, and Aargh, plus a root beer. While all of them were tasty, my favorite was actually the Sharkinator that I had gotten earlier in the day at the Cafe. Not Cafe. Bar. Mom's not really a beer drinker, but she tried them all. She enjoyed the root beer best. After picking up a refrigerator magnet or two, a coloring page that the kiddies were having tons of fun with, we thanked the girls behind the counter and took off for the next stop on our Way North Adventure. It was due to close soon! P.S. I colored the coloring page at home. It was fun. Thank you Lost Coast Beer, I'll be back. I hope. We were driving through Eureka today and wanted to pick up a few supplies including my daughter really wanted a tshirt. Once inside this is pretty basic place but doesn't need to be super complicated. They have a tasting area + brewery tours throughout the door. They also have a nice little gift shop including everything you want Lost Coast. Plus this includes their signature beers chilled down including 12 packs as well. They will also fill up growlers here as well...nice bonus was the super friendly employee(s). So all in all great visit and got exactly what we wanted including a few extras. read more

This is a go-to that post-dates my childhood in Humboldt, but I can see the basis of its appeal. Big fat disclaimer, I'm not a beer-drinker, but I enjoy a diverse menu and lively party ambience (especially with fidgety kids). For fun, I did sample the watermelon cider, which did not pair well with my tacos but was a standalone tasty drink. Took a tour on a beautiful day up in Eureka. Our guide was okay- not the splashiest personality and he gave a rote shpiel. I love their beer. Surprisingly, no comped beer at all.
