I'm sure I'll live to regret awarding Lost Marbles five stars as my experience there has varied from one visit to the next (and while four stars probably represents the most honest average of my experience), today's visit was memorable in the best sense. On this occasion, I visited Los Marbles for a mid-afternoon Saturday lunch. First off, the vibe: Often this places well identifies as a raucous sports bar, and on such occasions I've been known to just plain walk out. Today, the music volume was just the right level and consisted mostly of early '70s progressive rock (ELO); sports entertainment was contained to silent big screen displays serving only as meaningless background for most patrons; and the biggest public displays were small birthday gatherings and one large group with children and baby strollers - unexpected and way cool for a grown up bar! I tried the fish and chips and wow, was I surprised by the fresh, sweet and tender fish, a satisfying tartar sauce that wasn't acidic and full of pickle, and the kitchen which offered no resistance to substituting either coleslaw or a salad for the standard accompaniment of fries. Kudos to those who run Los Marbles for engendering a place when both babies and finicky old men (me) can find a few moments of delight in an establishment otherwise known for its boisterous televised sports setting. read more

Tried this place out on a Sunday afternoon with my friend and her 2 kids (8 and 10), the ambiance was chill and the decor is nice. We sat in the large table towards and there are lounge chairs + couches to choose from. Only reason this place wasn't 5 stars was the food. The kids order wings and they were dry, the panuchos we ordered lacked flavor and the flour tortillas of the quesadilla was partially uncooked and it could've done better with some more cooking time. read more

Came here for trivia night and had a good time. The atmosphere is loud! So if you're coming here for trivia night, bring a pen and paper so you can write your answers down for your group to approve. But I had a great time with my team, who I haven't seen in the past 3 years due to the pandemic! Btw, if you're here for trivia night, there's a $15min for food/drink. But that's the point of these events - to support local business. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the Ginger Spice cocktail (their Moscow Mule). The fried chicken sandwich had buffalo sauce so it had a kick. For $15, it was a decent size that got me full. The Ginger Spice didn't have enough ginger for me, but still pretty good and I'd order it again. I'm limited to what I can drink because I'm allergic to certain liquors. The space is pretty big, so it can accommodate all sizes of groups. But like I said earlier, it's loud (at least for an old lady like me), but I think on a non-trivia night that would be okay. For a while I wasn't sure if this place was really going to open, but then they had a party for their backers a few months ago, and now they are open to everyone. They have an interesting decor. Since I don't know what the style is I'm calling it--steampunk-esque aquatic-alien-inhabitant art. The inside is spacious, didn't realize this with prior inhabitant, a pizza restaurant. I guess it's how you use the space. So they have lots of space, seating, great bar area, several tvs for all the sports you want to watch, a fireplace, and some cute stools that look like baby longhorns, some shuffleboard game, a retro style (or may actually is) video game, and a large glass wall piece. And at least two brew tanks on the other side. Eclectic. Let's get into the food. The menu is short and sweet right now. On this visit, we got: Classic Burger - not a bad burger, it's fine. Just comes with a side of ketchup. Another reviewer mentions maybe it should come with fries which I agree with. Or maybe with tater tots like Richmond Republic down the street? Garlic Fries - good fries. I would personally like it a tad hotter (temperature) and crispier. And more garlic the better 'cuz it's garlic fries! Ensalada Mista - who goes to a pub and orders a freakin' salad?!? Okay we do! Nothing wrong with this salad except personally we don't like a sweet salad. If we order this again, we will hold the dressing 'cuz this one aight it. Sautéed Broccolini - good except it's again - too sweet. We personally prefer a savory note in pub food. Not salty though. I ordered a Guest Draft Beer (instead of a House Draft, which looking back, I should have instead, but next time...). So I got the Marin Brewing Tiburon Blonde 4.8 ABV. Nice beautiful blonde ale, good head, taste crisp, sweet, a slightly sharp bitter aftertaste. Looking forward to coming back to try more food and their house brews as they will be brewing in-house soon. Oh, I forgot to add that they have a photo booth, too. A good experience overall. We didn't know that Lost Marbles had taken over for Pizza Orgasmica until we walked in and saw those cavernous walls again. The place wasn't too busy on a Friday night, which was a little worrisome, but hopefully things pick up. They've got decent drinks here and some cool in-house brews (like their Warriors Invitational IPA). They also have picklebacks! Reminds me of the east coast, though they cal them something else here ;) Service in the kitchen can be a little slow at times, and portions aren't exactly large for the price, but it's another cool neighborhood joint. Submarine depth charges in the fireplace, a diving helmet at the bar, octopus artwork on the walls (and an actual octopus near the restrooms)... Handcuffs on barrels, a poster of Frank Sinatra's mugshot... We weren't sure if this place was nautical-themed or jail-themed, but we liked it! We sat at the bar and received instant and friendly service from the bar staff when we visited this past Sunday. We tried the Randy Marsh and Sporty Spice, and these drinks were STRONG... I got the Sporty Spice from two different bartenders, and it was heavy on the tequila both times with a nice sweetness from the Gatorade, so that's just how they do it here... good drinks! And the food wasn't bad either. For a late dinner, we had the Classic Burger, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Garlic Fries, and Broccolini Con Ajo. I thought we'd have leftovers, but everything was just too good, plus we were hungry. Such amazing flavors on everything, and balanced too (ie. not dry, but not too heavy on the sauces in the sandwiches). My favorite part was those garlic fries. The menu says it's "Like At AT&T Park" which drew me in, to begin with. But it was actually BETTER, in fact the best garlic fries I've had anywhere ever, cooked perfectly with a great blend of simple ingredients (I'd come back just for this!)... But they offer so much more! They have Silent Disco every Sunday at 9pm (different genres of music through headphones, lit in three different colors as you switch the station of the music). We loved this experience, because you could change the music to your preferred liking. The bartender informed us that it was free of cost during this slow season, but typically five bucks... one of the DJ's passed out headphones to guests as we finished off our meal at the bar. If you opt not to use the headphones on Silent Sundays, they do rotate the music playing in the venue in the background, but you don't get to choose what you hear. And the three live DJs played some really great music through those headphones (well, at least two of the DJ's this past weekend) while situated right next to each other in front of the giant TV. Lost Marbles' giant TV is like 9 giant flat-screens put together, like the kind you'd see at a sportsbook in Vegas. So it's an amazing option for watching sports too. But later in the night, it was more dance clips and videos, or ocean-themed scenes, that would play on the screen behind the DJs while guests danced randomly to different tunes. Besides free Silent Disco, we also enjoyed free shuffleboard! They actually have a couple different table/arcade games here. There was lots of shuffleboard "wax" (powder/sand) for a fun and fair game against my bf, that I won almost every time this past Sunday! But no worries, I turned my bf's tears into all smiles by the end of the night, enjoying the many unexpected highlights at Lost Marbles together... my bf even tried to find the octopus when he went to the restroom (he likes danger, so the warning sign lured him in, lol). Parking outside was surprisingly easy, we saw a lot of free street parking available on a Sunday night. But, maybe it's the winter season in the Inner Richmond, I mean the worker at the venue did say this was the "slow season". So much fun watching the game, hanging out with other Warriors or Giants fans, watching my partner heckle other sports teams fans! Sit at the bar - the wait staff are dope and are always on the move, so you better know what you want to order and keep it movin! Tbh, you might not wanna go for the food, but if you got the munchies, our Go-To's are the guac and pretzels. Oh! Go during trivia night! I've been here a few times and have found their house beers and cocktails to be okay but forgettable. The food was mediocre. The fried calamari was not fried well, with the breading coming off easily and being a bit soggy. The panuchos were a real disappointment since they looked great but tasted bland. A friend had a burger and felt that the bread was dry and stale. I was a little surprised to read other reviews that reported service issues. Booked a birthday party for a group of about 20 people here this past weekend and they did an epic job. The party was: a) Super easy to plan: Their event coordinator, Laith, was responsive to all of my questions, sent photos of the areas you can reserve, and helped with ordering the right amount of food through the catering menu. b) Highly organized. When I arrived, they took our cupcakes and plated them in back while they fired up appetizers for guests. The food (wings, quesadillas, pretzel bites, etc) came out all at once and went fast. c) Fairly priced. The bartender organized the tab & tip so I could pay off everything quickly at the end of the night. He was also friendly and attentive to the guests on our side of the bar. The area we reserved was cozy - near a fireplace, where everyone could chat or sit on benches with pillows. While I'd been here a few times before for drinks and love all the attention to detail in the bar, I wasn't sure what to expect for a party. DISHONEST PRICING: if you order a "16 ounce beer for $8" off the menu they (1) serve you a 12-ounce draft ((get a 12 oz guest can and pour it into a draft glass to test yourself)) and (2) automatically add an extra $1 to every single drink item "for tax and stuff" according to a bartender. So your 16oz beer for $8 as advertised is actually 12oz for $9, aka a 25% hidden markup per ounce of beer. It's a shame because this is in my hood and I like some of the beers but between the rude-ish bartenders and the dishonest pricing I won't be back. Just be transparent, it's not hard. Longer version: I usually pay by card most places and don't look too closely at my bill. Last couple times I paid cash and every item was marked up $1 when I paid. If it were actually for taxes then there should be a different markup between an $8 order and a $6 order. Nope this is flat extra $1 for all orders. I can name about 100 other bars in SF that manage to price in tax on advertised price but again given the blanket $1 surcharge I'm left to believe this is dishonest theft on unsuspecting drinkers. I was fine dealing with that alone but last week my wife and I went in, I got a "16 oz" draft and she got a 12 ounce can of guest beer. (Of course extra $1 on each drink compared to menu price). I've always noticed the "16 oz" draft glasses are narrow but a shade taller than a standard glass so didn't think anything of it. They gave my wife the same draft glass to pour her beer into and sure enough her 12 oz beer filled the "16 oz" glass completely to the top. Blatant rip-off. read more

This place has a pretty good beer selection but I go there specifically for the bleu cheese sliders. Two are $11 so they aren't cheap but they're larger than you'd expect and taste amazing. I look forward to them at least once a month and fight the urge to come in every damn day. They are absolutely incredible, filling, and well worth the price. I live nearby and it's not my go-to bar but when I'm hungry I come here because the kitchen is open until 11. I've had service that ranged from meh to excellent earlier in the year but the bartenders are pretty outstanding in my experience lately. Alex is super rad and takes the time to make sure everything is just right. Bonus: they have a Photo Booth. It's a bit expensive at $6.50 but is worth it. I have strips of photos on a magnetic board at home that remind me of friends who came to visit and a precious strip that captured a tearful goodbye the night before a bestie moved away. As a neighborhood local, this could be a great alternate to Richmond Republic. They are going for an elevated, full-service, sports cum gastropub, which this area lacks. The decor is chill and spacious. Drinks we tried were good. I'm sure they'd work out kinks over time, and they even mentioned that the menu would expand. But as an early, possibly repeat customer, few, hopefully, constructive feedback on the food we tried(3 out of 5):- -Burger was meh. Hopefully they step up their burger came, quintessential to a sports bar IMO. -No fries with burgers by default is a step back. -Wings were a-ok. Korean BBQ was almost chalky. Could be way more saucy and flavorful. -They could throw in couple more pieces for the price. -No buffalo wings, c'mon! -Also you'd want to offer blue cheese dip with wings. One of my favorite new bars! The place is so spacious, there is plenty of room at the bar, areas to sit, shuffleboard, and a fireplace. The stained glass is amazing, too! Overall it's a beautiful space. Drinks are great, the spice girl cocktails are fun, but there's a great beer list too. Food is also served until midnight which is a huge plus! We showed up here with about 50 people after my wedding for an impromptu after party and the bartenders were super friendly and accommodating. We've all been waiting for this bar to debut for 4 years now!!! SO glad they are finally open!!! This is the sister bar to the Barrel Head Brewhouse in NOPA. This is a pretty large gastro pub located in the Inner Richmond. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once you make your way inside, it's a wower. There's a HUGE 9-screen TV, perfect for sports games. There's a lot of seating scattered throughout the bar as well - bar seating, and also small bar tables for parties of 2-3. There's also a few large group tables at the entrance. It's a lively atmosphere with lots of people, and good energy buzzing around the place. They also have an arcade game, and retro photo booth - pretty cool. I love the furnishings and theme here too - it's this aquatic theme. We sat at a table with a wood plank, looked like it was "recovered" from underwater, with fake autographs on it (i.e. Ron Weasley, etc.). There's a good mixture of beers on tap (home brewed, and outside breweries), regular cocktails, Spice-girl themed cocktails, and small eats. I ended up getting the Posh Spice (Tanqueray Sevilla, LoFi Amaro, Triple Sec, Lemon Juice, Orange Twist), which was pretty strong and good. Loved it. My husband got one of the regular cocktails, can't remember which one exactly, but we both hated it - too bitter. We didn't get food this time around, but probably will in a future visit. For a new bar, it definitely felt very different than most! First off, it's huge! So much space to host some friends near the fire pits. There's also a giant TV to watch sport games. A large, comfortable bar. Serves up home brewed beer, various locally brewed oat sodas, and liquor. I like that there is plenty of bar seating along with high tops, and tables. They serve food too but I didn't partake of the menu when I visited. Came here on Saturday night 1/21/23 around 9:30pm with a large group. The obnoxious bartender mocked my friends laughing and when he was checking another friends ID it seemed like he flicked it off the table on purpose. This bartender mocking my friend's laugh was completely unacceptable! I couldn't tolerate watching such disgusting behavior so I confronted him and he took his jacket off as if he wanted to get physical. LOL There's numerous reviews mentioning the rude service here from the bartenders and it's unfortunate because even the locals who live in this neighborhood don't like it here. We went down the block to 540 Club afterwards and came across a local who agreed that the Lost Marbles bartenders are always rude to her too and how she has never had a good experience there. My BF and I just call Lost Marbles "that weird bar". It feels so confused, like three different owners each had their own vision but rather than compromise or pick a direction, they went all the directions and decided to just make it work. Disjointed as it is the decor is super fun and really made me want to like this place. We've been a few times and it's consistently a meh experience. As others have said the bartenders aren't great. They aren't actively rude, but they aren't particularly friendly either. Cocktails range from bad to fine (I've tried 3 or 4 and have given up on trying any more), beer selection changes regularly and ranges from bad to pretty good. The last time we were there and we tried a beer that we ended up really liking....but it was gone by the time we were ready for a second round. :/ We recently tried out the trivia (Wednesdays at 7pm), and it was one of the worst I've been to. You were given a white board and had to bring it up after every set of questions (and there were like 20 sets). Having to keep standing in line rather than hang out with the people you are there to hang out with got old pretty quickly. The host graded our answers incorrectly a few times, so if you care about your team's score you might want to pay attention on that front. About half the questions were multiple choice or true/false which seems contrary to the point of a trivia night, but to each their own. On the plus side they broadcast the questions on the big screen so you don't have to worry about hearing the questions (for me this is a huge plus). On the downside there was....a karaoke round? It was so strange. The trivia is not a Lost Marbles issue, but goodness I wish they had gone with a different company to run it. Overall, I do think it's worth a go in case you have a better time than we have had. I've seen people there that are clearly regulars so our experience is not everyone's experience. And honestly if they had a good trivia I'd probably be there once a week despite the mediocre service and drinks. read more

I was so excited for this place to open up! I've since tried it out 5 times over the course of several months. I wanted to have a great experience, and I would have settled for a good experience - but alas it was a bad experience every single time. I won't be back unless changes are made. The main factor is the consistently rude attitudes from multiple bartenders (indifferent, won't make eye contact, walk away when you are talking, never greet hi or bye, ignore patrons even when not busy and you are one of a handful patrons there, stand around complaining to one another, etc). These behaviors get taught top-down so the owners/proprietors must believe it's okay to be downright NOT NICE human beings. The busers on the other hand would smile and kindly acknowledge you when bringing food/etc, so this review does not pertain to them. This is a bar in a neighborhood so my expectations were to be welcomed as a neighbor, and for me to be grateful for them opening by spending a lot of money and tipping generously. I'd even forgive if the food was bland & cooked poorly (which it was day one, and is still as of my last visit recently). I hope the right person at the top of Lost Marbles reads this review and makes changes. Please feel free to message me and let me know when I should come back again and try it out. Until then I will not return and will encourage my friends & family to instead patronize the very friendly neighborhood bars 540 Club & Heritage. read more

My parents were coming here when it was The Front Room. I came here as a youngster when it was Pizza Orgasmica. Now, we're back for its latest journey as the beautifully renovated Lost Marbles! (They quite rightly kept the original fireplace, bar, and stunning stained glass!) Quiet and cozy local hangout during off hours, and bustling party hub on busy weekend nights. Our dinner experience was very good. The food was delicious and all the employees were kind and welcoming. I'll admit the bar is pretty expansive, and on a busy night, you may have to wait a little while for service -- which is fine; this isn't fast food, it's a place to enjoy at length.
