The shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce were great. I was even able to get them without cucumber. Whew! The banh mi thit nuong was fabulous! The food is slightly modified from traditional Vietnamese, but still tasty. i ordered the grilled pork vermicelli and my dad ordered the hunan beef lunch special. The pork was a different cut than i typically see for bun thit nuong, but still good nonetheless. My dad's complaint was that the hunan beef was oily and he wanted more veggies. He packed most of it to bring home and stirfry with more vegetables. I also like the taro smoothies here. I like this place. read more

Was a regular customer with the same order every time. I ordered over the phone and received the wrong food and drink. I walked in and said I had the wrong order and the manager said that he took my order and it was correct. I spoke to a woman though... he was rude and at one point refused to talk to us. The servers were nice, but unfortunately the management is the worst Ive ever seen. You dont have to believe the customer is always right but i refuse to have my money taken for the wrong food and then be blatantly ignored. Will never return or reccomend. 0 stars. I just moved from California to DFW and I had a craving for pho. San Jose has a huge vietnamese community so pho is amazing there! I tried this place, and although not as comparable, the broth was a little weak and not as flavorful with the beef bone and spices. Its right down the street from where I live so for a quick craving, it'll do. I also got the matcha latte boba and it was AMAZING. I was skeptical because it wasn't busy on a Friday night, but the boba was soft, chewy, and the perfect amount of sweetness. I'm picky about matcha and this one was flavorful and strong. read more

My family and I love Lotus Cafe! They have great vegetarian options. Tofu fried rice is fantastic. We could easily eat here once a week.

Yes, Dont be fooled by the name. This is a Chinese food place. My wife is Vietnamese and I know Vietnamese food. So little Vietnamese choices. Most are Chinese dishes. The Vietnamese food lacks flavor and the meat tast old. Pho taste bland. My kids had the Orange chicken. Even they hated it. Wife had the Cam Tam Suon Bi and shs hated it. This place is not worth the money. The service was alright, not too friendly but not bad. The milk tea boba was disgusting. They didn't let me sample it first so I had to buy the drink. After tasting it, I wanted to switch it out for something else. They were hesitant on switching it for me until I agreed to pay the difference since what I wanted was 25 cents more. We went here for the trifecta (spring rolls, boba tea, and pho). The traditional spring roll was fantastic, fresh, and wonderful. The boba was equally impressive and I highly recommend the lychee green boba tea. It'll cost you an extra $0.35 for boba, but it's worth it. The pho was super filling, and tasty. I originally gave this spot a bad review because they were constantly out of bahn mi in the middle of the day, and offered really bad customer service. Yet, the damn bahn mi was so good, I went back one more time, just to see. Now I've been back multiple times since and have not had a single issue. Just a delicious sandwich and good customer service. So hooray! The pho is quite good as well, but I'm a sucker for the chicken bahn mi. I saw the good reviews and decided to give this place a chance. Mediocre food at best and awful service so I would not recommend this place to others. I have waited tables so I am not by any means a demanding customer but our waiter took our order and then spent the rest of the time sitting at a table with some other customers. Terrible restaurant! More than half the people that came in left because they waited to long. My food came out and everything was wrong. The noodles were very chewy and un-edible. I over heard other tables complaining about how cold the food was and about 4 tables had to send their food back. The manager didn't care about our complaint and told our waiter that he didn't care about our complaint and he yelled it out loud were we heard it. I usually don't complain... Just ate here 15 minutes ago. Service: 2/5 Walked in to order, girl at the counter was non stop rolling her eyes as we decided what we would like. After I ordered she went straight back to talking LOUDLY with the other employees. Atmosphere: 3/5 It would get more from me, if I hadn't of heard a cricket chirping in the corner. Other than that, clean and organised. Food: 1/5 Okay, now I understand it probably isn't the most authentic Vietnamese food, but this was borderline insulting to my pallet. We ordered chicken and shrimp vermicelli, grilled beef sandwich, and shrimp spring rolls. Spring rolls were not fresh at all, they were hardened due to being left out or pre-made. The peanut sauce tasted EXACTLY like it came out of a Peter Pan jar...not good. They could learn a thing or two from Sprouts peanut sauce... Chicken and Shrimp Vermicelli was very bland and the chicken had been pounded out to be super thin (really don't get what you pay for). The shrimp that accompanied the chicken on a skewer were like rubber bands, so over cooked. Noodles were cooked fine and it had the traditional sauce to pour over the dish. Beef Sandwich was SUPER bland, literally no flavor. Not sure how one can even accomplish this, but Lotus Cafe managed to.
