I first came here back in Oct 2023. I tried their Huevos Rancheros and they were really good. The best I've had. I received a big plate and couldn't finish it. I went again on Feb 2024 and noticed that the plate that was served looked different, it was smaller and I couldn't see my crunchy chips that I originally loved back in Oct. I went again today, 4/2024, and again I couldn't see my tortillas. I asked the waiter and he told me they where there. I searched underneath and I saw the 1 Tortilla, but it was a soggy tortilla. Nothing compare to Oct 2023. I told the waiter that I wasn't going to eat it. He offered a new plate with a crunchy tortilla. I accepted. I did get a new plate with 1 crunchy tortilla. The plate and flavor was ok for $20. As you can see on my 4/2024 picture, I finished the plate because it was smaller and less food than Oct 2023. Unfortunately, I won't be going back. Louise's Pantry. Just hearing the name and that I'm going there for breakfast makes my day. The atmosphere gives off that welcome to my home and don't worry about a thing you are going to be well taken care of by the staff. That covers the ambiance and service. Now for the food I've gone to my share of restaurants and their food is top notch. I haven't had a bad dish come out of the kitchen. I personally love their breakfast, especially the omelettes. I come here only because it's close and I like the food/ Her seating rules change at her whim- tells me there's no reservations/ but there's two tables reserved for a party at 9:00 o'clock. When in the La Quinta area, treat yourself to a Louise's Pantry. They offer free mimosas on Sundays, but get there early. There is a church across the boulevard, and Louise's Pantry gets packed. Don't worry about parking; there is plenty of space throughout this medium sized business complex. Although it gets packed, they distribute the free mimosas while you wait. The longer the wait, the happier you might be when you finally get a table. Based on my four visits, getting there around 9:00 a.m. drops the wait significantly. We have only had the breakfast items, and they have been great. They don't just have the typical breakfast items; they mix in some specials like chorizo eggs benedict (delicious). Besides this item, my favorite is the Ham Steak and Eggs. Sounds regular and familiar, but the ham is thick and very tasty. I like my eggs scrambled most of the time, and they have never been dry; you can taste the mixed-in butter. The hash browns, too, are very good...cooked perfectly. Louise's Pantry doesn't just pile on the portions; the pile on great taste. In regards to the service, it is excellent. I have had four great experiences so far. The woman who runs the front of the business will hover around your table after it is clear you have finished eating. First visit there for breakfast. Menu is pretty large with many choices. I had a build your own omelette. The portions of potatoes and eggs were huge but absolutely delicious! No skimping here. This restaurant was rated good for breakfast so my husband and I are in town and decided to try it. I had the waffle and when I got it it was a little on the cold side. The fruit on top was very good except for the blueberries which I was really surprised. Coffee was good my husband just had water. This place was packed on a Saturday late morning but they were about to get us in with no issues in a half hour. I ordered the Belgian waffle and everybody else got some sort of eggs/hashbrowns and a country fried steak. The waffle was amazing and came with so much fresh fruit and whipped cream. It wasn't soggy and was delicious! My fiancé's country fried steak was the only downside. Although it was still very good, he said the breading seemed a little less fried than what he is used to getting at other places. The portions were huge and we definitely could have split plates. EVERY time we are in the desert we go to Louise's. There breakfast is fantastic. Never been there when there isn't a wait. It's worth it. They have a good flow. I default to the eggs Benedict which never disappoints. My wife is more adventurous and has a different omelette every time. No a bad one yet. Kids love the waffles and pancakes. And great coffee. First time was busy but they were handing out mimosas for people waiting and I thought it was amazing that they did that. 2nd time there wasn't much of a wait so we didnt get the mimosa treatment. The service was wonderful, wait time was reasonable and the wait staff were all very polite and service oriented. Food was delicious, everything we tried we liked. A nice Yelp find and recommendation from a local boy. I got the French toast with berries, side of eggs, bacon and famous country potatoes. Everything tasted pretty good. I tried my Hubby's sour dough toast with the home made strawberry jam. The jam was so yummy, we bought a jar to take home! Can't beat the free Yelp check in Mimosa's. Hours are kinda wacky, they close at 2pm daily so I recommend you go around 11ish as we went around 1 pm & had to rush out as they were closing. It's def a brunch place, although I heard the lunch menu is amazing! Louise was the owner lady who passed five years ago and is now run by a couple. This is THE BEST place for fresh diner food. I always get the chicken fried steak meal for breakfast. The coffee is good and fresh. The waffle with strawberries and whipped cream is amazing. You HAVE to get there before they open or you will have to wait to be seated. Soooo delicious. read more
