Did you just use what was on sale this week from your suppliers? The rice was purple, I think it had taro in it. How do you make steamed rice sweet? The one fried dish we ordered, a signature app nonetheless, was drenched in oil. Have ordered pad thai here a couple of times and found it bland or just hopped up with pepper rather than flavor. Just tried the "Thai General Gao's." Maybe I should have known that was a bad idea from the name, but it was terrible - extremely thin strips of chicken, deep fried in batter until they have the consistency of dog chews, and totally tasteless, as were the accompanying vegetables. The Thai place this replaced, Lemongrass, was mediocre, but this one is making me miss it. read more

Went on Saturday for lunch. This time we tried out Fried Brussel Sprouts. I am not a big fan of brussel sprouts but this was one was the exception. Smoked salted and bit oiled up. Came In a small basket with the sprouts in the newspaper. I love how they set up their dishes. They dont give it with any sauce but if you ask for sweet and sour sauce this definitely goes well with it. Boyfriend had the taro rice with Sausage and Chicken and he is still raving about it. This is the best brand new Thai restaurant in Lexington MA opened on January 2019. The cordial staff and foodies. They were friendly for baby , Disabled person. I saw the opened the door when the disabled came in and out . They were very service mind genuine. Also Convenient Free parking lot behind the restaurant. The restroom was clean and smells. recommended for make reservations on Friday and Saturday .They are popular in the town. The foods was scrumptious. We ordered for delivery. 1) The food came at 5:15, not 5:45 as I ordered. My order confirmation email and also the receipt on the bag both note this as the expected time. 2) The order came wrong, with 2 orders of Tofu Prik Gleua and no order of Tamarind Tofu. When I called, the person I spoke with said they would call me back, but did not. I was glad to have the delivery person arrive about half an hour later with the Tamarind Tofu order, but it would have been nice to know to expect that to happen. We had to warm the food up in order to eat it all together and although the food was good: 1) The Tofu Prik Gleua was not as described on the menu. It had bell peppers and onions which were not on the menu description, and no fresh chili, cilantro or garlic, as the menu describes. In fact, it looked very much like what is described as Evil Tofu and Soy Nugget with onion, bell pepper, and scallions (although there was no soy nugget). This would have been a very different tasting dish with garlic and cilantro; as it was, both tofu dishes tasted very similar. 2) The Tamarind Tofu was also not as described on the menu, with no cauliflower and also with the addition of bell peppers as well as chilis. 3) The Pad Thai included soy chicken nugget (or at least that's what I think it was) which was also not noted on the menu. Since one of us is not able to eat bell peppers, they could not eat the tofu dishes. I have heard very good things about the restaurant and the food was good (although again, both tofu dishes tasted very similar) but I would not want to order delivery again if this is a typical delivery experience. I did try reaching out to the owner with this feedback but never heard anything back. read more

It was delicious AND beautifully served in a beautiful copper bowl on a stand. Such a lovely experience. Terrible establishment. I ordered takeout and went to pick it up at the specified time. During the 20 minutes I then waited, I couldn't so much as get anyone to tell me how much longer it would take. They'd say they would check and then immediately take a phone order or disappear into the kitchen with no apparent intention of coming out. I finally gave up and left. Was hoping for more from this newly renovated restaurant, as Lexington needs some good options and this is one of my favorite types of restaurants. It could also be that they need more time to get their act together from a service perspective. Some of the staples you'd expect, like Tom Young Goong and Pad Thai are on the menu, but others, like Yum Nua, aren't there. The pad thai we received was seasoned well but the chicken was really tough. I'll likely be back once more to see if they've been able to up their game, but for now, there are better options in the area for Thai. read more

I have eaten here or had takeout four times and I have never been impressed. The decor and atmosphere is beautiful, but the food is overpriced and mediocre. The first time I ordered the Nuer Nam Mun Hoi and it was really bland and not flavorful at all. The next time I ordered the Salmon and Jumbo Shrimp Choo Chee, which was one large shrimp on top of a small piece of salmon for $24. It was supposed to be spicy, but it was quite mild. Then, I ordered the Mango Crispy Chicken for takeout and the chicken was extremely chewy and tough to eat. I ate a little and threw the rest out. Last, I ordered the Khao Soi Salmon and it was a chunk of salmon, which came on a blob of egg noodles smothered in curry sauce. I ate the salmon and left the noodles. The curry sauce was overpowering. I preferred Lemon Grass, despite the food not being stellar and the decor and ambiance not as inviting. It was also more family friendly. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! I went there couple of weeks ago to pick up a take out order simply because I was trying to catch a show across the street. When I arrived, I saw a bar tender busy mixing drinks and another waitress busy serving tables. I waited there for over 5 minutes, nothing happened. Then three customers came and stood behind me waiting for a table. Another waitress suddenly appeared and starting to greet them and asking how many people in the group, just like I was totally transparent. Even after another customer reminded her that I was there first. I was shocked and also was really in a hurry, so I called directly to her: Hey! I am here. When she finally turned to me, 10 minutes already passed , She did not smile to me, did not say "sorry for the wait", and did not say anything! She just waited for me to start. I had no time to waste on complaining that day. So I just paid for my take out and left. I was outraged by this arrogant attitude. Also a friend's group "enjoyed" similar treatment the other day while dining in. I don't know what I did wrong to deserve this treatment. Just because my skin color happened to be the same as hers?! I am very disappointed to see this Anti-Asian attitude in an Asian restaurant. read more

Lexington needed a nice, new, fresh restaurant and this is it! The Thai food is out of this world. Possibly better than some of the food I had in Thailand while I was there for a few weeks. The staff is extremely attentive and want to make sure your dining experience is great. The cocktail list is awesome. They have authentic Thai drinks and also great, inventive cocktails! Also, a nice beer and wine list. The decor is some of the best I have seen. The wood paneled ceiling and the light fixtures are beautiful. It looks like a trendy, Harvard Sq. Restaurant! Now to the food- we had the fried Brussel sprout appetizer l, good but not OMG amazing. I would still get it again. We also had the squid appetizer. It was very good. My husband had a pork entree (I forget the name but he said it was awesome and he's pretty critical) I had the crispy duck- spicy, but oh, so amazing that I couldn't stop eating it! The duck came with a side of "berry rice". I have no idea what type of rice it was, but it was purple in color, tasted nothing like a berry, but was awesome and complimented the duck and the sauce perfectly! This is hands down our favorite restaurant in lexington. Every meal is wonderful, crispy shrimp and seafood yellow curry are two favorites. We came here when we first moved here back when it was Lemongrass which was very good. NOW they took it up to 11!! Every dish we had was amazing. How we got a table with a baby and with out a reservation was a clutch move but I definitely recommend taking a reservation as the place was packed...for good reason!! read more

Tried this place for the first time on their second weekend. We had a reservation for 7 people and were seated on time. The whole squid was very large and delicious. Love at First Bite serves the BEST thai food in the area. You can't go wrong with almost any dish on their incredibly diverse menu--the massaman curry, khao soi salmon, drunken noodles, any of the special dishes, Indonesian fried rice, mango crispy chicken are all favorites. I would say that the pad thai is not the best pad thai that you could get from a Thai restaurant, but everything else is a hit. The service is so warm and friendly, and works their best to get all the food out to you on time. Very accommodating and wonderful people. Will definitely be back often. read more

I know the food is great here, but the customer service is not great. I called in for pick up tonight, and placed my order. The hostess then asked what my tip should be--I replied "I am picking up my order, why would I tip?" She then just hung up on me! How rude. I know restaurants are struggling and we have many options, the fact that she is annoyed that I don't tack on a tip for doing nothing will stop me from doing business with them in the future. Everyone is struggling right now to keep business going and I feel this disrespect and attitude is so annoying. It is overpriced to begin with. My only criticism would be the insistence on serving jasmine berry rice and not offering a white rice option. Love at First Bite may be the best Thai restaurant in Boston; certainly among the best, with Manow in Newton and Cha Yen in Watertown being the competition for the honor.
