Let me start by saying I was never someone who dreamed about her wedding dress growing up. I went into the dress-shopping process by visiting a few other boutiques first, trying to figure out what I liked and what silhouette felt right. Lovely Bride was the fourth place I visited, and by then, I felt like I had seen a lot of the same styles that just didn't excite me. I had the best experience with my stylist, Norah, over the weekend. I came in with my mom and sister and Norah made us feel incredibly welcomed. Wedding dress shopping can be SO stressful and overwhelming but Norah made us all feel very comfortable and I could not appreciate that more. She was also super knowledgeable about the gowns and designers and listened to what I liked and disliked with everything I tried on. I ended up saying yes to the dress and I could not be happier! I visited Lovely Bride in Los Gatos after visiting 3 other bridal shops and trying on dozens of dresses. By the time I arrived at Lovely, I was feeling anxious that I wouldn't find a dress that would suit me. I also typically have always hated trying on dresses due to being very body conscious and struggling with self image all my life. I was paired up with Ingrid who immediately made me feel seen and supported. She helped me choose 5 dresses to try and also invited my mom and sister to come select some. The first dress was immediately something that I had in mind, and was both comfortable in fit and in my personal style. Ingrid encouraged me to try on the rest to compare, never rushing me or pressuring me to hurry and make a decision. The next few were beautiful but not right. Then I tried on a dress that I was certain was not going to work on my body shape. However something magical happened - it fit like a glove, and beyond that, looked like it was made for my curves. I literally started crying because I felt beautiful and like only I could wear this dress. Ingrid and Erica were both glowing - you can tell this moment is what they live for. Thank goodness for the Champagne! I am newly engaged and haven't tried on many dresses yet. The staff was very friendly, but my stylist, Isabella did not seem like a stylist. When I told her I had dresses on my Lovely portal that I wanted to try on she disregarded that and insisted we start by looking at dresses off the floor instead. They also had a very small selection of dresses, which really all seemed to be similar in style. So, looking was frustrating. We ended up pulling probably 10 dresses for me to try on, all of which were very pretty, but Bella did not tighten the dresses very good. And a few of them were a few sizes too small. Bella recommended putting it over my head instead of over my hips. When I struggled to try and find the head opening through the many layers, Bella didn't even lift a finger to help me, so ultimately I gave up. Not only did she not help when I struggled, but she never helped me try on any dress, she only poorly secured the back to close. At the end of the appointment, the manager, or who I'm assuming was the manager, stepped in because she could tell I wasn't sold on any one dress. I did mention that I had dresses that I liked and wanted to try on. Turns out, most of them were there on the floor, but Bella didn't pull them for me to try on. One of the main dresses I wanted to try on, was in a box somewhere, but they didn't know where and didn't have the time apparently to look. I walked out of there pretty disappointed and down about myself. The dresses that were really pretty that I was very excited to try on, were all a size 8. I'm probably a size 12-14 in dresses, mostly because of my large chest. I'm not even that big, but that fitting made me feel HUGE, especially when Bella recommended trying the dress on over my shoulders. All in all, it was a weird appointment and I do not recommend this place if you are looking for a stylist that will actually try to figure out what style dress looks good on your body type. And I do not recommend this place if you are wanting to feel special. Not once, did Bella compliment me. She was a terrible stylist and it was a disappointing appointment. read more

My daughter had a great experience at this bridal store today. We thought the range of dresses was more varied than some of the other stores we have visited, and we also liked the quality of the items on offer. She said yes to a dress :) You pay on the spot and the order is placed. The manufacturer my daughter selected takes about 12 weeks to fulfil the order. The store provides a list of local recommended seamstresses to make alterations (which are inevitable). Our stylist (whose name I'm afraid I've already forgotten) was helpful and came up with good suggestions. read more

I recently had the privilege of dress shopping here and I was absolutely blown away with the experience. Going into dress shopping I was feeling very worried about how this experience would be and after my appointment I wish I could do this all over again.
