I am not one to write a review, as I have only written less than ten - probably less than five. Why this restaurant? I have a general rule whereas I'll spend $10 for breakfast, $20 for lunch, and effectively unlimited for dinner/entertaining. Not only was this lunch $10 w/o my cocktail, it came w/a freshly made salad w/plenty of black olives and warm bread. I ordered the lasagna after asking the server, Jose, his thoughts. Not disappointed at all. Plentiful dish of lasagna, served hot, perfectly cooked noodles, plenty of cheese, and excellent amount of meat. Delicious doesn't do the platter justice. I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 because this place has bargain prices. It's Literally cheaper than McDonald's or chick fil a. And at a rating of 3 stars I might try again because there's probably a dish that will make me happier than the chicken parm I ordered against my better judgement. I've never had a decent chicken parm. Am I dumb to keep ordering? No, I'm hopeful! Juicy chicken, crispy breading under warm cheesy tomato sauce sounds wonderful but apparently difficult to execute. Verona's was a tough as shoe leather thin piece of chicken. It was on the lunch menu that included a side of spaghetti with red sauce and a salad for $12.99! The serving was enough for two people. The salad was fresh and had a few nice add ins served with decent bread. The spaghetti was passable. My husband had a combo plate of 3 pastas with salad for $10.99. Located in a strip center near the Arboretum the restaurant is basic and comfortable. Service was good. If I go back I'll try the lasagna next time as that dish is usually reliable. Unimpressed. Ordered cheese w/4 toppings and they were pretty stingy w/the toppings. They were distributed very unevenly and pizza wasn't even sliced through all the way. They had the nerve to charge an extra $2.26 AFTER THE SALE bc I asked them to cook it well done (which they didn't as you can see how floppy it is). I order fm DD 3-4x a week and have NEVER been charged after the fact for anything. Won't order again. read more

Great customer service and the food is delicious. My family and I had a great time celebrating my daughter's birthday.

I had came in with my family, I felt the upmost respect in there. The service was great, we were sat down and our drinks came out quickly! I wasnt able to take pictures because my kids were on my phone but I ordered the chicken piccata, it was great. I want to say the wait time on the food was no more than 20 minutes and it all came out perfect, I will be returning again for my birthday dinner soon. Met a friend here on a Friday: Place was empty. That should have told us something, but I had wanted to try this place for a while. I'll come back, but . . . I hope I don't have to deal with clumsy, weird waiter. He HOVERED near us, rushed us into ordering, then interrupted our appetizer with our entrees. After spilling a bunch of juice off one of them all over the floor. I ordered a dish that was supposed to include eggplant and spinach. Instead, I got sub-par chicken ENTOMBED in Alfredo sauce. Not a shred of spinach OR eggplant. I was hungry and kept hoping that if I dug deep enough. . .nope. Waiter basically DUMPED bags and to-go boxes with the check and then disappeared. Not a great experience. The place itself seems cold and uninviting. Crappy pop music playing on sound system. I'll go again and double-check my order before digging in. Prices quite reasonable. We had noticed this restaurant shortly before arriving at the Dallas Arboretum around mid-afternoon on a Saturday. After spending a while at the Arboretum, and having just flown in from the next time zone over, we were getting hungry by around 5 p.m. local time. We opted to eat here rather than driving back to our hotel and having to search there from scratch. They are located in a strip mall with a long shared parking lot out front. We had no trouble finding a space. Also, there is a traffic light at one end making exiting back out convenient. We were seated promptly upon arrival. The place has a large open dining area with a bar along the back wall. It has the vibe of a neighborhood eatery that has been here a while (in a good way). There was a couple at the bar who seemed to be 'regulars'. We were trying to avoid getting too much food and having leftovers since we were traveling. As one of our party had a large lunch and wasn't overly hungry, we opted to get 2 entrees and 2 side salads and split those all between the 3 of us. That worked out perfectly. The 'side salads' were actually quite big (by my standards). I got the Tortellini Alla Panna (with pink sauce) which everyone enjoyed - it was the favorite dish. I assume they do have a full bar, but I just had a glass of wine. I think we split a dessert afterwards - limoncello cake, which also was quite good. Prices seemed reasonable. This is a nice spot for above average Italian food in NE Dallas. read more

Overall was standard average food. The baked ziti had a slightly odd tang to it, the pasta was overcooked. And there was barely any marinara sauce. The pizza was okay. Plenty of cheese and dough was okay. Very average, maybe slightly above average on flavor. Dinner rolls were standard. read more

We visited Verona cafe on a weekday for Dinner. It was very quiet and we had a great service. House wine was a good selection. The restaurant floor and the bathrooms were clean and we felt comfortable in the atmosphere. We ordered four different dishes, lobster ravioli, cheese ravioli, shrimp pasta, and chicken Alfredo and all the dishes tasted good. We love Verona! For many reasons. The dining room is always clean, with a good soundtrack playing softly in the background, making for easy listening yet still allowing conversation at the table. Everything is delicious! Today I had the Chef salad with salmon instead of chicken. That salad is so fresh! And the salmon perfectly grilled. The complimentary hot bread was a perfect pairing with the salad! Chloe was our wait person and she was great, adding to our overall wonderful experience. I have been ordering from or eating at Verona ever since it opened and have always had a good experience until today. I never write bad reviews but beware if you order on their online app Slice. I ordered a pizza at 6:40 with estimated delivery at 7:40. The app indicated my order was put for delivery at 7:20. The food never showed up. Several calls and messages with both the restaurant and Slice and everyone said the order would be delivered. It's now after 10:00 and the delivery never came. Just really poor communication. Don't tell me my food is going to show up if it's not. read more

Update: Haven't been to this place in a while, but am pretty disappointed in their revised pizza (see attached pic). Not sure if they are under new management but it seems that their dine-in area has also been changed up for a more modern look as opposed to the mom-pop family dining experience. The new pizza does not have the former slices of mozzarella or basil slivers on it. I'd compare it to a typical chain style pizza for cheese/sauce quality. The new style is also extremely floppy with little to nothing holding it up when you pick up a slice. What's worse is the cheese in the middle is not really cooked to consistency with the more outer region. Won't be going back here after these changes have been made to this restaurant and there are better choices to choose in Dallas. read more

Dressing is simple and goes perfect with it. We placed our order Togo and it was ready within 30 minutes with very friendly service over the phone and during pick up. We ordered a large pizza and honestly it was Gigantic. Def get your money's worth. Unfortunately for me the first photo on Yelp is what made me want to order the marg pizza. Don't be fooled as others have mentioned on this page the marg no longer comes with the large mozzarella slices. That was a big let down and it doesn't look like you even have the ability to add it. Family atmosphere! BYOB, my parents live around here and come periodically. Everything has always tasted good. Customer service is great! Owner came by to check and make sure everything was great! Stuffed mushrooms are delicious and the sauce w them is amazing to say the least. We dip the bread in it afterward. The caprice salad is delicious and flavorful. Salads have great house sauce. This is my go to place for Italian food. Took me years to find place I could get pasta without a tomato or cream based sauce. Love their olive oil and capers based sauce. I'm addicted to their Supreme pizza. They really load up the meat and I like their light sauce I actually order delivery once a week getting both pizza and a pasta with a protein rotation of salmon and chicken which lasts this person for several days. read more

We ordered a dozen wings and only received 8... our server even said wait that doesn't look like 12. We also ordered the calamari and it was mostly just breading. It didn't even come with a lemon. We didn't even get silverware or plates until we asked twice. They didn't bring us the complimentary bread until we asked. The manager then came over and apologized for the lack of wings and said she'd place another order and take the calamari off of our bill which is nice. The new order of wings was only 6... We then get our entrees and the salmon was very undercooked. It took over 20 minutes for them to correct it and bring back a dish. We had to ask to have our waters refilled.
