Simplicity at its finest. I love the space; industrial meets local cafe. Decor is awesome and it's fun to browse the shelves of (expensive) offerings. My bagel was delicious - I went simple and it delivered. Coffee was fresh. Service was quick; so was the wait for my bagel. I will return again and again as I love roaming Jackson Square on a foggy morning.

Ordered a bagel togo Ordered toasted. Came completely burnt and carelessly assembled. Skimpy on salmon. Came cold.

Based on fielding the regulars in line, I went with the pastrami but without the bagel they are known for. The rye bread was sturdy but without it being overbearingly thick. The rye flavor is subtle enough for those who aren't fans, but may be too subtle for someone wanting the classic pastrami on rye. The kimchi addition is nice as I like to add kimchi to my grilled cheese. The sandwich is on the petite side so it's not quite like the NY deli sandwiches. The service is friendly and efficient. I may come back for the bagel next time...

I've been wanting to come to the new SF Loveski--I've been to the Marin Country Mart one (but didn't have a bagel--I went with a friend when I was full and in the area!), and the SF Chronicle named Loveski the best bagel in the Bay Area. Whenever I've gone, it's been busy. This time, I ordered ahead online for pickup. They said it'd be 20 minutes when I checked earlier, but when I ordered they said 15 minutes. It ended up being less than 10 minutes--this was around 1:45pm on a Tuesday! The interior is light and airy--it's the old Postscript space! Lots of people were camped out working. My friend got an oat latte and said it was better than most oat lattes she's had. I enjoyed the "Famous" yeast bagel with miso and veg cream cheese ($7) I brought home and shared with my partner. It had a nice yeasty taste and good consistency. The cream cheese tasted artisanal (who am I kidding, the bagel tasted artisanal too.) Very friendly staff. Wonderful service. I won't swing the price point often (prices are quite steep)--but flavors, the ambiance, the service and experience, and the ingredients are indeed top-notch.

Ordered for pickup - was ready a lot quicker than I expected. Not much work was done/changed from when this was just Postscript but still like the energy in the space! Pick up was a little confusing - wish they had signage because it took us a few minutes to get help but ended up being fine. They also put our drinks in the pick up bag which threw us off at first but I loved how it was all packed in there perfectly! Bagel was okay, I got the famous yeasty bagel and some yellow onion cream cheese. Was expecting better, I don't think I would come back for a bagel again vs Boichik or Noahs. The coffee was great though - always very happy with my Postscript vanilla lattee :)

A bit of mob scene for breakfast, but the late lunch crowd isn't as chaotic. The menu is pretty classic, but the prices are very modern (i.e. high). While I like the food, paying nearly $30 for a sandwich (no sides) is not a sustainable lunch option. The Tribute: $28.15 for a pastrami sandwich feels a bit high, even for San Francisco. Granted, it was thick cut and nice texture, but still. The seasoning was a bit subtle on this, so it kinda bordered more on corned beef territory. Though with everything being subtle, the homemade dressing really shined and gave it a lot of personality. "Famous" Yeast Bagel w/ Herb Cream Cheese: $9.01 for a bagel and cream cheese also feels pricey. Granted, cream cheese in San Francisco is often better than NYC, since it's so artisanal. Here theirs was definitely house made, no that Philly block, with lots of fresh herbs like dill and chives. The bagel had a nice crunch on both the top side and bottom side. It wasn't as thick as typical bagels. And it did indeed have a nice yeasty taste. Smoked Salmon Seeded Everything Bagel: I know bagel & lox are pricier than just bagels & cream cheese, but $20.27 felt a tad high. However, it was really good. I appreciated the fresh dill, capers and thinly shaved shallots. Lots of flavor, along with my choice of everything bagel. The lox has high quality, no gray bits and not "fishy" tasting. Beef Dumplings: $18.01 for a pretty light portion. Present nicely with fresh dill, fresh scallions, chili crisps and sour cream. Reminded me of a fancy pelmeni. Medium thickness dough and a nice meatball-like center. Matzoh Ball Soup (Den's Way): This was a really good matzoh ball soup! All the fresh herbs really upped the game and livened things up. The two matzoh balls were dense and filling. Kinda wish they served this in proper porcelain bowls instead of a paper tub (even for orders to eat there). Strawberry Rice Crispy: This really upped the rice crispy treat game! The freeze dried strawberries added a nice pop and tang. Like the real deal, not some artificial strawberry flavor you'd get from that bright pink syrup. I totally need to try making these at home!

Loveski picked the ideal 'hood to open in the city: Jackson Square. Start the day off with their $7 bagel or $11 four bite breakfast burrito. Wash it down with a $22 smoothie. Opps, I mean $28 with added pea protein cuz gains. Stroll the art galleries and do some serious damage at the luxe boutiques. Then, it's time for some R&R with a $280 mani/pedi. And, off to romance the bottle and nosh on potato pillows topped with Petrovich Black Pearl Osetra Reserve Caviar at BIX! I'm not in that tax bracket so we just shared a bagel at Loveski! Last week, Chef Christopher Kostow (The Restaurant at Meadowood and Charter Oak) opened his first SF location of Loveski, a modern Jewish-style bagel shop and deli (there's also locations in Larkspur and Napa). M E N U Specialty: Montreal-style sourdough bagels boiled in honey. They have some unique schmears like yellow chive & fermented onion and miso vegetable. GF bagel and vegan cream cheese available. They also have salads, sandwiches, wraps, latkes, matzo ball soup, pastrami (not made in-house), and sweets. If you're in a rush, they have a grab 'n go section including pickle lemonade. In partnership with Postscript (previous business here), they've kept their coffee and smoothie menu. P A N T R Y Snacks, sauces, fermented products, and condiments. They even have dog treats. B A G E L S * The "Famous" Yeast Bagel w/ miso veggie schmear ($7) - Request toasted Excellent bagel with a crackly crust and chewy interior, pleasant tang and a savory umami flavor from the nutritional yeast coating. I didn't notice any sweetness from the honey, and it's less doughy than a typical New York-style bagel. The schmear was creamy smooth, and nicely dense, studded with veggies, though too mild in flavor (for me). I was expecting more miso funk, and they were skimpy on the schmear. To go, we ordered three bagels and an 8 ounce tub of plain cream cheese for $18. Much more economical. S E R V I C E Mostly friendly staff with smiles all around (they maintained most of the Postscript staff). A M B I A N C E Plenty of seating indoors with a mix of regular tables and communal high tops. Handful of tables outside. There's only one restroom which needed attention (code required). Not getting into the "best of" debate because I'm not a New Yorker, nor a Canadian but Loveski serves some damn good bagels for my personal taste preferences that's worth return visits.

Cute space with lots of natural lighting and seating. We grabbed a sesame bagel with fermented onion cream cheese. The bagel had a nice crunch on the outside, but was soft and fluffy inside. I liked the perfectly toasty sesame seeds and the slight twist on a classic green onion/chive cream cheese. I'll be back to try an everything bagel with the miso vegetable cream cheese. Staff were welcoming and the bagel came out fast. Definitely in my top 3 of SF bagels.

Same feel as their predecessor Postscript, but now with a deli flare. I like that they kept the cafe aspect and you can still see the roasting operation. Very crowded opening day, but easy to look at the menu, pick something from the grab and go or shop for condiments/snacks/drinks. Excited to try everything on the menu - especially the bagels. They are also still serving Postscript coffee and smoothies. Two things I grabbed as a person who loves anything pickled were the pickle lemonade and hot pickle sauce! Both tasty and have that pickle brine. Bagels have a really great chew! Lots of fun things to try.

One of my favorite spots to get a matcha latte in S.F. It's a lovely little place with a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. I'd say service is pretty quick. Plenty of seating if you want to dine in.

    Serena M.

This is a cute place in Jackson Square to stop for a bite and a coffee. They took over Post Script, but they still have some fun food items that you can buy and a coffee menu. The bagel was yummy, but a bit expensive for what it was. It gets really busy in there during the weekdays around lunchtime, but I noticed that the employees take your food to you if you're lucky enough to snag a seat which is nice.

good vibes love the bagel and the cream cheese was awesome. open faced bagel !! wish that they had an sweet artisanal bagel (i liked tomato more than radish avo) whole place smelled a little oily like from cooking smoke but good place to work if you don't mind leaving the cafe w a smell overall spenny but would be back

Friendly staff, fast production time, and great ambiance! Came for their bagels which start with sourdough starter and are high in protein! Options from bagel sandwiches to coffee cake to chicken teriyaki bowls! Great place for brunch or a quick lunch with outdoor seating. Price is on the higher side but you can taste the quality of ingredients, they even have their own homemade sauces that you can pack up for your to go orders. I highly recommended their chili oil!

In my opinion Lapisara ranks in the middle due to the other excellent options available. Seated immediately--had a reso but on a Wednesday morning not really necessary. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. Single Waitress was great-we let her know we needed to leave in about an hour for a show and she timed everything perfectly--we even had time for dessert. we ordered so many items that she brought over an extra table--we shared everything family style. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!

They had a nice crisp on the outside and were soft on the inside. I also got a regular coffee, and they do unlimited refills. The place was busy for brunch, and I liked the bear theme. Some of the coffees came in bear-shaped glasses, and some of the lattes had a decorative bear made out of ice.
