This is my update review. It seems that this restaurant improved a lot. I like their new menu and the addition of Jackfruit Salad, Soy Seafood Noodle bowl, and their Pad Thai is yummy. I love their Jackfruit salad too. Royal Noodle soup, Spicy Cha Cha, Chow Mein are still good. It is hard to choose. I also love their Summer Rolls. This is definitely my favorite Loving Hut. The food is so tasty here. Unfortunately, the place is kind of too small to dine in. I usually buy to go and looks like a lot of others also order to go. I've always been a meat-and-potatoes kinda gal but this place is seriously making me question my consumption choices. Loving Hut is a cute little restaurant on Tustin Street between Chapman Avenue and Palmyra Avenue. It sits in the middle of a mini plaza which can get easily "lost" in its surroundings but don't let the meager exterior fool you. This place is truly a hidden gem. Winners: Heavenly salad Spicy Cha Cha Soft chow fun Pad Thai Losers: Spring rolls Crispy chow fun Honorable mentions: BBQ noodle bowl Fabulous Mongolian Lemongrass sensation My go-to dish is the Heavenly salad. The fiance and I ALWAYS order this as our starter. It tastes so fresh and light. I love the crisp texture and the sweetness of the dressing. This a MUST order! The spicy cha cha, soft chow fun and pad thai are also winners because of the great flavors they all pack. My only issue with the chow fun is that they don't mix the noodles well (or even at all). When it arrives on your table the veggies are on top and the noodles look like they literally just came from the package and are still sticking to each other. As for the losers, I didn't find the spring rolls and crispy chow fun to be that exciting. The spring rolls were underwhelming and I prefer soft and flat over crispy when it comes to noodles. I'm conflicted with the honorable mentions. The only good thing about the BBQ noodle bowl was the slices of very flavorful protein and the crispy rolls. Personally, I was never really a fan of vermicelli bowls so I felt hesitant ordering this but if you love them, then by all means try it. The fabulous mongolian and lemongrass sensation were both inconsistent with flavors. One day they tasted great and the other--bland. Overall, Loving Hut has recently become one of my regular spots. Vegetarian or not--everyone should try this place at least once. I may not love all the dishes on their menu but what they are consistent with is the portions--fairly generous. And even if it's a lot, you don't feel "guilty" or miserably stuffed after your meal. read more

Amazing service and kid friendly! We visited today and the service and food were both excellent! My toddler devoured the chow menu with tofu and veggies and the proprietor was so excited to hear my son was vegan from birth! She was so friendly, talking to him and saying hi throughout the meal when he would get bored. She even gave him a cookie as we were leaving! Went here while I was exploring areas around my work. I didn't know what to get so I asked the guy working the cash register what was a popular dish. He suggested I get the "chicken" wrap. (Tofu) I got it with the salad. I also ordered a mango smoothie. The wrap came out, cut in half, the tops COVERED in "house sauce". The "chicken" tasted pretty good... And I probably would have been able to taste it better if it wasn't drenched in sauce! I ended up having to deconstruct the wrap and wipe off the sauce. The mango smoothie was fine. Really sweet. Service wise....hmm that's where my 4 star comes from I do really enjoy the male server. He's very friendly and attentive and makes my visit pleasant. But then comes my problem, there is a lady who frankly is just rude. She wasn't like that when I first started going there but as the time went on she began to be more rude. Since I gave up meat again for lent, I have been more inclined to try more vegetarian restaurants. And the Loving Hut has many Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese options for those Asian food cravings! There were so many options to choose from, and all of them are vegetarian or vegan! From rice dishes to noodles to soup to pho to practically everything. Oh how I miss these foods during lent!! I ordered Bun Bo Nuong Cha Gio, which is rice vermacilli with bbq "beef" and egg rolls. .... And it tastes like REAL beef. I ate the whole darn thing in disbelief because there was no way it was vegetarian. Would definitely recommend it, for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Gotta come back to try some other dishes... My husband and I have recently started venturing out, trying a couple vegan restaurants here and there. We mainly cook for ourselves because we generally don't find high quality foods to eat out at. Welp, that changed tonight. The Loving Hut was beyond EXCELLENT! We shared the Fabulous Mongolian and an order of crispy rolls. It was filling enough for the both of us and it was just soooooo dang tasty! The dipping sauce for the rolls is to die for and the "beef" was well made. Sometimes meat alternatives freak me out. I'm not big on looking for a substitute to replace meat as I never really cared for real meat in the first place, but this dish was perfect. The owner, Chi (spelling?), was so gracious and helpful and she went out of her way to introduce herself and ask for our names. The whole experience was 100%! This has got to be some of the cheapest vegan restaurant food in California. My mom and I ate here and our ENTIRE BILL was $25 for an appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and dessert. I got the eggplant tofu, which I was disappointed by because the tofu was not served firm (that's probably personal preference though.) My mom had a stir fry with mock beef that was AMAZING. My problem is that who knows what ingredients they use to make these things. I doubt that they are non-GMO. My cheesecakes was uninspired, but my strawberry drink was one of the best drinks I've ever had. Now to the atmosphere. I am sure there are nicer Loving Huts, because this one was in a strip mall. Also, this is a very Asian place and there are videos that preach the teachings of the Supreme Master Ching-Hai, which is basically a cult. Perfect pick me up for the on-the-go vegetarian! I usually call in and my order is ready for carry out in 15 minutes. I love that they no longer use styrofoam containers, so now I have no qualms about ordering to go when I'm in a rush. The Jackfruit Salad has made me a loyal regular. I have yet to share it with someone who didn't love the light, tangy salad dressed with fresh basil and the sesame rice crisps that come with it. Refreshing, yet filling, it's the perfect meal for the health conscious but picky eater, vegetarian or not. I often find that I am full well before finishing the generous portion, but the good thing is that you don't have to worry about this dish getting soggy like other salads if you want to save the rest for another time. The waitresses/waiters here are very friendly. The food is decent and price is reasonable. I ordered two items to go (the BBQ noodles and "chicken" nuggets). The BBQ noodles taste just like a regular one, the chicken nuggets taste like chicken too. If you want to try vegan/vegetarian food, but not dare to go above and beyond, this place is definitely a good start for the beginners.
