Chicken Rice Cabbage Bowl, Protein Lover Rice Cabbage Bowl, Coconut Greens Smoothie
    Millena P.

My partner and I decided to order a quick grab & go after our workout. We wanted to find something healthy. It was around 10pm, and we found this ghost kitchen that served many foods from different restaurants. Parking: This ghost kitchen is located in a lot. It looks a bit sketchy, but fear not. Free parking, but finding a spot can be difficult. It's super busy, and I noticed there were a lot of food delivery workers going in n out. Environment: It's a very small space. No dine in. There are lockers to the right where you'd pick up your food when it's ready. We didn't place an order online, so we ordered through the kiosk. I don't think they take cash. Everything seems contactless. Service: We didn't speak to anyone. It was self order, and we waited for our food. We were texted when our order was ready. Throughput was under 10 minutes. What we ordered: I ordered the chicken rice & cabbage bowl, and my partner ordered the protein lover rice & cabbage bowl and a coconut green smoothie. I really liked my bowl! The multi grain rice paired well with all the toppings, chicken, and sauce. The cabbage was fresh and not soggy. Careful for the sesame seeds, it might get stuck to your teeth lol. I'd prefer a bit more chicken, but other than that, I enjoyed it. I also tried my partner's bowl. His bowl definitely had a lot of protein! It was all delicious! The toppings were similar to my bowl. I did not try his coconut green smoothie bc I don't like coconut, but I'm assuming he liked it since it was gone in 5 seconds. Pricing: The chicken rice & cabbage bowl was $11.95, the protein lover rice & cabbage bowl was $15.65, and the coconut green smoothie was $5.95. I'd say it's worth its price. The bowls left us fulfilling, and we enjoyed everything.

This is within the Anaheim food co where other online brands sell food as well. You place your order online and pick it up from their lockers. It seems new but I guess it has multiple chains? It's a health conscious quick bowl place. They have the black rice, keto option, and vegan options. It was a filling bowl that made for two meals for me. I tried the orange sauce and it was very interesting. Gave a refreshing taste but I prob would get the soy type sauce for the pork bowl next time. It is not like orange chicken sauce fyi. Overall I think it's a solid lunch or dinner spot when you are looking to have a nutrient packed meal.

I was in Anaheim and just searching for something healthy to eat. Glad I came across Umami Express on here! Ordered from inside Anaheim Food Co. at the screen. Easy process and food comes out fairly quickly like within 10 min of ordering. Small area but always clean. I chose the "Protein Lover Rice & Cabbage Bowl" ($15.35) because I know I needed to pack on some protein before my disney day! According to the description for the bowl, it states "Dairy free, gluten free. Base of shredded cabbage, heirloom forbidden and brown rice, chicken, pork, organic tofu, crisp water chestnuts, steamed broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, fresh green onion, toasted sesame seeds, our house-made Szechuan chili oil crunch, and a choice of our signature sauces. // gluten, dairy free // zero refined sugar" Sounded like health in a bowl to me so I was excited to try it. I chose the Garlic Sesame Soy Sauce and it was a good pairing. I appreciate that it comes in a little container on the side in case you don't want all of it in one go. I opted out of having water chestnuts because I wasn't in the mood to have that crunch while I ate. The Szechuan chili oil was also SOO GOOD! Had the perfect amount of spice for me. It was pretty hot so if you're not a fan of spice then stay away! The entire bowl tasted delicious. I actually didn't care for the pork esp it was large stringy chunks of meat that I don't think I was in the mood for either. I ended up trying to just give it to my bf to eat. I believe it's pork shoulder since there's a section of "pork shoulder bowls." The tofu was also good, large, super firm cubes. This is a pretty large portion especially there are 3 proteins in it. I enjoyed it so much that I cooked something similar at home for meal prep. My bf ordered the Chicken Rice bowl ($11.45) and it was basically like mine except no tofu or pork. He also loved the chili crisp and it was a good portion for him overall.

I doordashed the Wagyu Beef Rice and Cabbage bowl with black rice (which I don't know if I'd tried before, and it's really delicious and hearty) for lunch while at a conference and it was truly delicious. I got the chili sauce to add and it gave it a great kick. All the textures together were so satisfying. Definitely expensive like all things seemed to be around Disney, but I'd order it again for sure.

Tucked away is delicious restaurant that can be easily missed if you're not paying attention to what you're looking for. Straight ahead when you enter the parking lot is where you'll pick up your order via locker. Around 9Pm on a Saturday, it was busy in the parking lot but our food was ready quick. We got the chicken bowl with extra tofu. The chicken was grilled and seasoned well and the water chestnuts added a great touch to the bowl. It was layered onto a bed of forbidden rice and brown rice which had a savory umami flavor. I'd definitely come back again as I'm interested in trying the coconut greens smoothie.

Healthy and it's good food...WIN WIN! There's a nice variety of options to choose from. I went the more traditional route with chicken. And since I couldn't tell the portion size I went with the cabbage and rice bowl. The sauce took it over the top! I could totally eat from here everyday.

So good! Fresh ingredients, tastes homemade and healthy! Love it! So glad to have this healthy lunch option. I ordered the Tofu Rice Bowl with cabbage, lemon garlic soy sauce and the chili oil crunch on the side. I also appreciate the hand-written thank you note! Will definitely order from here again.

First time trying out the umami bowl here and I am glad I did! My protein lover bowl tasted like the meat version of poki bowl, with fresh ingredients, a good portion of meats & tofu topped with savory sauces. Would definitely come back again! thanks for the little note on the box too!

Really hard for us to go for a dish without protein more so than the actual entree but that just says a lot for their salad! I loved all the flavors and texture. You can't tell from the photo but they give a good amount of Burrata cheese underneath and the pear is also there sprinkled with candied walnuts on top! And for the Lomo Saltado it was a solid staple. The fries were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft on inside. The meat was also tender and not overly seasoned. As for my personal taste, the spicy wontons could have used a little more depth and umami. That said, I'd still recommend giving it a try! Taste is subjective, and there's clearly a lot of care behind the dish. I WILL be back for their drinks. No notes for the ones mentioned because I finished all 3! It was also packed on a Saturday night, which made me think we were in for something good. We ordered the spicy wontons, Món Bò Lúc Lắc (shaken beef) with fries, which we got with the garlic noodles, and their signature pho. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it also didn't really wow me. The garlic noodles were probably one of the better parts of the meal, and the chili wontons were good too. The shaken beef looked great, but I felt like the steak and sauce needed more seasoning or something to really bring the dish together. The pho was good, but again, nothing that really stood out to me. I will give them credit for the service though. It was extremely busy, but the young servers were still pretty quick. Maybe my expectations were a little high because of how busy it always looks, but for a fusion restaurant I wanted the flavors to be a little more memorable. Not bad by any means, just probably not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. 6/10

I was meeting my foodie friend there at 12:30. The parking lot has limited space, which made it an extra challenge to park. Thankfully I only had to circle the block once to come back and snag a spot. (Meanwhile, my friend got there before me and was already enjoying an appetizer). Orders are placed at the counter and they call your number once your food is ready. The dining room consists of mostly booth seating with one "communal" table, and counter seating with 5ish chairs. There are also a handful of tables set outside. I've really been enjoying banh mi and their Bulgogi beef sandwich sounded great. I also happen to have a thing for popcorn chicken, so I got an order of that to round out my lunch. Oh, and based on the rave reviews I've read about their peach & lychee green tea, I ordered one of those as well. Let me just say, lunch was very satisfying! The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww. But aside from the parking challenge and the table hygiene/cleanliness, our visit was quite enjoyable and the food was very good. We would definitely return, but we'll have to plan around the lunch rush!

And I am SO glad we did because everything about our experience was seriously a 10/10! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was amazing. The gentleman at the front greeted us and escorted us to our table, and right away we felt welcomed and comfortable. Our server, Quang, was absolutely the sweetest! He was so friendly, outgoing, attentive, and helpful, especially when it came to giving us recommendations since it was our first time there. He had such a positive energy and really made our experience even better. And the FOOD!!! If I could give it 1,000/10, I seriously would. We tried the Ube Cloud, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Garlic Parmesan Fries, Spicy Shrimp Wontons, Corn Ribs, Garlic Butter Prawns, and Filet Garlic Noodles, and honestly, there wasn't ONE thing we didn't enjoy. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. But what really stood out to us was that it wasn't just the food -- it was the entire experience. The staff, the atmosphere, the music, and just the overall vibe made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The music they were playing was amazing too! My friend and I were enjoying ourselves, eating good food, listening to good music, and just having such a great time. The whole place honestly had such a warm, homey feeling to it. When we were leaving, the gentleman who had greeted and seated us earlier ended up having a whole conversation with my friend and me. He was so sweet and personable! He mentioned that they may be opening a location in Culver City, and I told him I really hope they do because that would be much closer to home for me. I was even joking with him that if they open one, they need to bring the whole staff from this location over there too because everyone here was THAT amazing. At the same time, even if there ends up being a location closer to me, I would honestly still make the drive back to this one. When you visit somewhere for the first time and have such a great experience, that location becomes special. You can visit the same restaurant somewhere else, but the people, atmosphere, and experience aren't necessarily going to feel the same. This location definitely left that kind of impression on us. I really hope this review reaches management because the staff here deserves the recognition. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and Quang especially took such great care of us. Grilled branzino was spot on. Pork chop tasted good, solid flavor, but the center felt was cooked through and not as tender as I had hoped. Tomato salad was fresh. Fried cauliflower, nice crunch. Tapioca spaghetti was interesting (even though there's no tapioca, right?) but had a small complaint that the noodle was a little hard. Some like, some don't. Crispy potatoes - crunchy on the outside, soft inside. It hit the spot, one of the best crispy potatoes that I can remember. Bing butter & honey was a favorite too. Drinks were solid, ube pina colada didn't taste as good as it looks, but it's a lot of purple fun. Yuzu lemonade was refreshing. The missing 1 star is a mix of small gripes: the pork chop (a little dry inside), hard noodle, ube pina colada looked better than it tasted, and it's a little pricey for the amount of food. Would definitely come back, I wanted to try the pork shoulders next!

This has been my go-to late-night spot. I usually come around midnight, and it always hits. My…read morefavorites are the fried rice and the lomo saltado both are consistently good and definitely what I keep coming back for. If you go late at night like I do, the ambience is really quiet and chill, which I actually like. It's a nice low-key spot to grab food without the usual crowd, and the food usually comes out pretty fast. Also, you have to try the popcorn chicken it's really good and worth adding to your order. Service is average, but it makes sense since there's usually only one person working at night. If it gets busy, there might be a bit of a wait, but it's understandable. Overall, a solid late-night food spot with good portions, fast service, and a chill vibe

Overall pretty good!…read more I came here with my family so I had a very large party. I was lucky to receive my dish pretty quickly, but some of the other people in my party had to wait quite a bit. But I think the staff were working as fast as they could so ultimately, i think service was fine. I tried the lomo saltado with beef, fries and garlic noodles. Overall tasted great. The fries still managed to have a crispy texture and had a sweet and savory sauce flavor to them. The beef cubes were tender and cooked just right. The noodles were fine as well. I liked that the noodles werent too heavy. The portion size is very large though, i was very full by the end of it. The green milk tea was good too. The milk, sugar, and tea ratios were all balanced and the flavor was subtle. It had an interesting flavor that reminded me of grass jelly and milk, but in a good way.
