This place is definitely worth eating at if you need some Asian food in your vegan life. The portions are very generous for what they are priced. Everything is very delicious, but most of the proteins in the rice dishes kind of generically taste the same. They also have non-Viet foods as appetizers, deserts, and at the back of their menu, such as a selection of burgers, lasagna and spaghetti. The lovely woman, Chi,who I assume runs the place will always be welcoming and create a friendly environment. However, sometimes I feel she felt a little TOO comfortable with me sometimes and made me feel a bit displeased. I've been to this place a bunch of times, and I have only ever gotten one thing- Vegan Chicken Burger. I am a big fan of vegan chicken burgers, and if a place has one, thats usually what I get. The chicken burger is good, its not the best I've ever had. Its grilled, not breaded and fried, and it has a good flavor. It usually comes with sweet potato fries but i order it with regular fries. There is this sauce on the burger that I also order on the side to dip my fries in- they call it 'house sauce.' Its creamy and sweet, and whenever a creamy dip is vegan, its usually delicious. I've tried a lot of other stuff there off of my friends plates, some stuff is good, some isn't that great. I only ever get the vegan chicken burger. Audrey gets the house burger every time, it comes with this very thinly sliced grilled onions, its pretty good. They have some tasty drinks here that I usually can't afford, but I recommend the Pink Delight. My friend got the Sunny Forest once, but I think I only liked that one because of its name. A little tangy, too. Never had jackfruit? It has the texture of what an over-cooked shitake mushroom might taste like...BUT it's good!! Really good. Comes with fried onions, sprigs of mint and basil, and peanuts. The flavors are pretty intense. Call me crazy-but I couldn't eat too much of it in one sitting. I had to put it away and try it again a few hours later, and still couldn't finish it. I know. Weird. Comes with this sesame cracker thing-didn't really like it. Tasted a little weird to me. Never had Vegan food before but this is a great place for my first vegan experience. Nice little homey environment. Staff is very friendly so all was well so fair. Now on to the food. I ordered the Spicy Cha Cha with brown rice and my friend had the Wrap, which he said was really good. My first impression of the spicy cha cha was "Ok, it looks and smells like shrimp." OK first bite and i was freaking DUMBFOUNDED with how much it taste like shrimp. I just looked at my friend and asked him if this was a vegan place because i couldn't tell. I just sat their examining the "shrimp" trying to figure out how they created this delightful thing. After my initial shock i just enjoyed everything about the spicy cha cha from the salad which was light and flavorful to the dipping sauce for the "shrimp." Conclusion: Loving Hut knows what their doing. Don't have to be vegan to enjoy food and this breaks anyone's perception of what vegan food is supposed to be. Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes! My girlfriend and I discovered this place last month and have already eaten here twice and at their Ladera Ranch location once. It truly is that delicious. No dish has left us disappointed. More accurately, no dish had entered us disappointed. Spring rolls, summer rolls, Bun Hue noodle soup, Pad Thai, Royal noodles... each location has their own special menu. I'll be back for their pho. Love this Loving Hut! Great service! I used to always come with my old co-workers for lunch. Strangely enough the owner (whom we've dubbed Mama LovingHut) who is really nice, knows me by name and asks for me nowadays.. or so my co-workers tell me..Haha.. Anyhow their service is always great despite there being a good crowd during lunch hours. Once we forgot a part of our to-go order and they were willing to deliver it, even though under weird circumstances we didn't receive it. BUT its not their fault and they were willing to make it up to us on our next visit. Love their royal noodle soup! We always add wontons and it tastes awesome. I can never tell that I'm not eating meat and its funny that I can trick myself. Haha.. I also love their pandan cake. Yum! Mama LovingHut was also nice enough to treat me to a slice on my last visit there since she knew I would no longer be working in the area. I miss our lunches there. If you see this Mama LovingHut... Sorry to those who actually like soy-based meat substitutes, but I don't like the taste or texture. Often times they taste nothing like meat and I wonder why they even bother trying. But, I really enjoyed Loving Hut's food. Summer rolls and BBQ noodle were really good. BBQ "beef" tasted almost like actual beef and had good flavors. Vegan chocolate cake was pretty good too. I have started a very real, very intense relationship with their Royal Noodle Soup. It's delicious, spicy and served with all the pho fixin's. I probably won't be trying any other dish there, my love runs that deep. Service is pretty good, just know there is usually only one server so if you are going around lunch or dinner and it's slow, that's on you. Beside my usual complaint about vegan restaurants that they name their food after the meat they are imitating, and the fact that it's in a strange busy strip-mall where parking can be a hazardous activity, and Supreme Master TV is running on a loop, I can't help but like this place. First let me say that the cappuccino with the Loving Hut logo written in chocolate was out of this world. Ordered a second one, to take home with me after the meal. They have a wide selection of juices, asian soups and noodle dishes. The shrimp (actually yam) egg rolls were delcious. I have eaten here twice and as a flexitarian, considering the jump to a strictly vegetarian diet, it's nice to know that there is an affordable and tasty restaurant nearby. The location is okay, kind of small but the food is amazing, healthy, wholesome and completely guilt free! The service is pretty good as well. So far I have had the Golden Wontons ( Good flavour, the texture is way different than what I am used to (cream cheese), but delicious with the sweet chili sauce) Vegan Orange Chicken ( Once again, delish, tastes nothing like the processed stuff from Panda! I had mine with brown rice and best of all it had sweet and tangy pieces of pineapple in it) BBQ Noodle ( Deceivingly big! Tasty chunks of BBQ soy protein with rice noodles, fresh mint, bean sprouts, cucumber and peanuts. It also comes with 2 of their crispy rolls and a sauce of some sorts) Spicy Cha Cha ( Some sort of shrimp alternative breaded and fried with a light chili topping, really good. I could eat this as an appetizer, but it comes with white or brown rice) Philly steak with Sweet Potatoe fries (Once again, it was huge, really tasty and the sandwich was stuffed with soy protein, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers, you could easily split this among two people) For dessert I have tried Chocolate cheesecake which tasted just like the real deal. The broth was a little bland and not as spicy as it should be. The chile paste saved this dish in my opinion. Served with tofu and soy protein along with fresh herbs. - Lemongrass Chicken - OMG. This tastes soooooo good! This tastes BETTER than the meat version. I was blown away by the flavor and textures. A must try. - Hazelnut Iced Coffee - made with soy milk. I like my coffee with condensed milk, so this doesn't do it for me... - Jasmine Iced Tea - a little watered down I think... Overall...a good experience! Service was great even though they were busy. I am a sucked for trying anything new. With that said, on a whim I decided to try something tasty, but healthy as well. I am a true carnivore at heart but that doesn't mean that I will shun away the idea of vegan food. I have tried a few other vegan restaurants before and the amount of flavor that these places cab impart with the uses of the herbs and spices they decide on can still make a rather profound dish despite the lack of big beef. When we arrived the place was a tad smaller than I had expected. Loving hut was located within a strip mall next to a laundry mat and was a bit hard to spot at first. When inside it had a warm feeling as the restaurant was packed with regulars. I had chosen to have the mushroom wontons and royal noodle soup. The wontons were crispy and flavorful and accompanied with a sweet chili sauce. The soup was good, a little oily though. I can stomach a lot of heat when it comes to food and soups and this dish was not as spicy as I was expecting it to be. However the taste was good and the noodles tender. Within the soup was an assortment of vegtables and "meat" that included vegan beef and tofu. Overall I throughly enjoyed this place and am glad that I live close enough to it to visit it again and try the other dishes they offer such as the vegan burgers. read more

I'm glad I found this place. It's very convenient to the hotel I was staying in. It's quite a small place so it can be missed if you're not looking hard enough. Most places have their style of service, this one was a bit different. As we walked in, we were greeted and asked if we were taking out or eating in. Once we stated eating in, the gentleman behind the counter then handed me the menus over the counter instead of bringing it to the table...I found that quite odd. He then came to take the order and only asked if we needed a few more moments instead of asking if we have any questions about the menu, or if it's our first time here and if so explain the menu. He wasn't engaging, but I'll just assume the heat that day got to him. The food was amazing in taste. Presentation at this point didn't matter...needs work, but didn't matter because it was delicious! We ordered the spring rolls, cha cha shrimp, guru curry, and spaghetti. The peanut sauce that came with the rolls was pretty awesome! Not too salty and not to nutty. Everything on the menu is vegan and quite satisfying. Sadly the brown rice is an extra 50 cents...in Vegas it's included at the local vegan shop I go to...oh well. I don't know why there wasn't any music, but it was quite awkward hearing other peoples conversation who weren't intending to be heard. As we finished our meal, another person was behind the counter, a very nice girl who chatted us up about the food and what we were planning to do while we were in the area. Gee I believe is her name, a very nice Vietnamese girl. I would definitely return when I'm in the area to try out the other dishes! And get more Thai tea. My boyfriend and I get the chow mein and the vegan orange chicken usually, and we're never disappointed. The portions are generous and their meat-subsitutes are to die for. And I can get brown rice instead of white! Hooray! The atmosphere's a little kooky at times, though. It's a small place and you get this feeling you're being watched. We get takeout-- plenty of informational pamphlets on Supreme Master Ching Hai to keep you occupied while you wait OH. And the coffee is the BEST COFFEE AROUND. No joke. What I like about the Loving Hut brand is that each one has different foods available, but the same core meals. Out of everything I've tried here in my visits, I've loved the BBQ Noodle Bowl most of all. The veggies kind of took away from the taste of the "meat"(which was SUPER TASTY) but the sauce added to the plain-noodles to create an overall masterpiece of flavors and consistencies. The smoothies are tasty too, but I only liked the strawberry and mango ones. The others, I didn't care for that much but would still order them again if my first choices weren't available. For dessert, I ordered the Oreo Cheesecake and the Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. The Oreo Cheesecake was my favorite, though it doesn't truly taste like an oreo, but VERY CLOSE! :) Service is always extremely friendly and catering, though I had to get someone's attention just for a napkin. Otherwise they are adamant about doing their best to service, you, their customer. I take my meat-eating friends here as well as my vegan friends. Found this place while searching for vegan places in our area - recently discovered egg allergy in the home forced us to go looking for egg-free options for food. Saw some favorable reviews here so decided to give it a try. So far, I have not been disappointed. The spring rolls were excellent. Crispy and well flavored. I have to give the BBQ noodles a mention because they weren't on any reviews I read! And they were great. Tasted like egg noodles without the egg! (Hopefully!). Tried the coconut pineapple and was surprised because it looks rather dessicated and made of brown rice. But take one bite and I was wrong. Later research confirmed that "Loving Hut" is a world wide chain, funny, the down-home, one-of, appearance of the place would lead one to believe they've just discovered a secret hole in the wall. My girlfriend and I are not full time vegan but we are eating vegan food more and more. If you are a person who is looking for a good, fair priced vegan place, look no further! The fantastic Mongolian dish will have you scratching your head wondering how BBQ could possibly be this good with no meat. After going to the Huntington Beach Loving Hut, I was thrilled when I found out there was one so close to home. Without sounding insanely ignorant I hope...the location of this one is a bit sketchy. There's a definite presence of bars on windows and some shady characters that linger in or around some of the shops. That being said, this place makes it all worthwhile. The Berry Cooler is the perfect refresher for this random hot fall weather we've been having. And just as so many Yelp reviews promised, the Spicy Cha Cha was amazing. I myself am not a vegan but their "shrimp" was so much better than the real thing! The prices really can't be beat for a sit down/takeout place either! I wish they had the larger menu like the one in Huntington has but that is really my one and only complaint. The owners are super nice as well. This place does a great dinner business so the key is to get there as early as you can because it's small and you may not get a table. Yayy! a place to go for satisfying and delish vegan food! I decided to try a few different things on my first visit: -Beef Broccoli with Brown Rice - YUM!! Broccoli was nice and crunchy, and the soy meat was delicious. Everything was steamed and stir-fried to perfection. -Spring Rolls - "Shrimps", tofu, noods, lettuce, and mint wrapped in rice paper. Again, super yum. Served with an awesome thai peanut sauce that is good enough to buy by the gallon. -Summer Rolls - Soy Meat (in place of what would be pork on your carnivore friendly spring roll), tofu, jicama, carrot and basil wrapped in soy paper, served with the same delicious peanut sauce. I prefer the crunchy texture of these over the spring rolls. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch, or take-out. Probably wouldn't suggest taking someone here for a first date or a romantic dinner. Prices are great.. $4-8 bucks per plate Service was good also. Everyone working there was very nice.
