Great views from the bar and we enjoyed our server, Andrew. Espresso martinis were tasty and decently potent. They did take a while to arrive, as did the food (sorry no picture). Had the grilled cheese sandwich which was a tad soggy and the fries were average. Portions were decent though and prices commensurate with the location. read more

The salmon and prawns were delicious. The prawns were lightly charred which enhanced the flavor. The crab cake was okay. The spicy mayo on top didn't really go together with the flavor of the crab cake. The rice and grilled vegetables were a good addition. * Clam Chowder 4/5 - The chowder had really good flavor. Went to the market kind of early, looking for CBD cream, decided to have breakfast which I usually skip. Stopped into Lowell's for the first time. Nice atmosphere with great views over the Sound. It is multi-level, I went to the second floor. There is a bar area but I sat in a dedicated dining area. I got the Market Breakfast, scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, three plump pork sausage links and sourdough toast. Washed it down with a Mimosa. All could not have been better. The service was terrible, the waiter was very rude and tried to sweep us out before we were done eating and tried to take a plate of food someone was actively eating. Lowell's is a multi floor icon within the Pike Market. The first floor offers counter diner style ordering and seating. You can go to the 3rd floor and eat, after you order, if you prefer. If you want to go to the cozy bar or enjoy a wooden booth or small table, head to the second floor. The tuna melt and salmon plate are stand outs. They both come with no frills but they are delicious. The king prawns cocktail is nice if you're looking to treat yourself. You can wash it back with an $8 Deschutes. Expect to pay $75+, your belly will appreciate it. The service is mixed. Some staff will sling plates at you with little regard for humanity let alone what the kitchen stay slaved over you. Others will serenade you with a song or practically hug you as you leave. Maybe this is thru According to Seattle's paper of record, "counter-serve" restaurants are the hot new trend, but Lowell's has been doing the whole, "line up to order at the register, then hunt for a table" thing since the '50s and it's working. During peak hours you probably won't be able to score a windowside table, but you can still get classics like fish and chips or Lowell's allegedly famous Dungeness crab omelette. Came back for breakfast a couple of days later. This was also good! We went to the 2nd floor bar area and ordered so that we could have Bloody Mary's with our meal. We've had our last breakfast at Lowell's, even with their great view. After years of eating there it's clear that it's become one of those places that tourists go to, never to return again. As a result, the food is expensive and not very good. But who cares? Tourists probably won't be back anyway. So we paid $40 for the driest crab omelette I've ever eaten, and my husband paid about the same for a hangtown fry, which was also sub-par. Fortunately I asked for child-sized portions for our grandkids, which are not on the menu, so they were fine with their single piece of French toast and single pancake with fruit. We were looking forward to this meal as we hadn't eaten there in a couple of years, but came away so disappointed that we decided we won't be back. They aren't the only restaurant in the market with a great view. read more

I originally was going to order at the counter, but saw they had table service and decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did! I got a seat right in the corner and as a solo diner, it was perfect. I was next to a window overlooking the other buildings against the waterfront. The wooden interior had a warm to it, contrasting against the chilly rain outside (still a beautiful backdrop). Andrew was a fantastic server. I ordered a lemonade with basil and berries; it was amazing! Freshly muddled and mixed from the bar, it was delicious and refreshing. Lunch was the veggie sandwich and fries. Absolute perfection. I loved the thick pieces of red pepper and the slices of perfectly ripe avocado. We got seated right away for a party of 6 which felt lucky at 1:30pm on a Saturday. This place is much bigger than it seems. We had a great server, made us laugh a lot and gave us great recs on what to order. I first ordered the tuna salad sandwich but then was encouraged by the server to get the salmon sandwich. Came for breakfast. Ordered the following: - Dungeness crab omelette - 7/10: Served with hash browns and bread. The omelette was basically chunky crab pieces wrapped in an egg blanket. I wish they could've done a little more with it. Crab was fresh, but for what you get, it's a little overpriced. - Smoked salmon omelette - 6.5/10: same dish, but with smoked salmon. I was in a walking boot when I visited this restaurant. It has 3 levels and I had to limp my way up the stairs to the second floor where we were sat. Bathroom was on the third floor. Didn't bother me really, but I say this to point out that it may not be super handicap accessible. We weren't given the option to dine on the first floor. Other than that, food was great. Lowell's Restaurant has been a food institution inside the Pike Place Market since 1957. It has 3 floors (2nd floor is mainly a bar) with ocean front viewing. You get in line, order at the register first and get a number. Then you go find a seat and they bring you your food. It's very casual dining and a bit rustic. Their clam chowder is really good. Order the bowl vs. the chowder in the bread bowl as the chowder is pretty heavy and you really don't eat the bread anyway. I wish they would have had oyster crackers for the chowder like they have at other places vs. just plain saltines! It does make a difference! The fish and chips were just ok. The view from our table on the top floor was amazing though and worth the visit to this eatery. read more

Come on Lowell, please do better! Stop taking advantage(ripping off) of tourists customers! We all know locals never comes here and without tourist you would go bankrupt and close down but yet you keep taking advantage of the tourists. 1. Fish and chips - COD is FROZEN, Seattle has one of the freshest fish available but why use frozen and sell so expensive, at least season the fish before deep frying. Flavorless!! 2. Clam Chowder - OMG, it's water downed and almost no clams, tasteless but it cost $15.95 for a bowl, small bowl. You advertise as best clam chowder, campbell soup is better. Please, let's be more honest and have some dignity for the food you are serving, this is piece of C..P 3. Crab Cakes - $33 for two small oily zero dungeness crab. It was the worse crab cake I ever had, again we are in Seattle, crabs everywhere!! Also the tomato salsa was going really bad, I couldn't believe they served it.
