They sell saws and there must be a hundred or more on the shelf, can't walk over and grab one to help a customer. So we bought a Samsung washer & dryer almost 3 years ago from Lowe's location in Sonora, CA. We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Dryer stopped heating at the end of December. Service order was placed on 12/27/20 for appointment on 1/5/21. Service guy showed up, determined I needed a whole heating unit, no part on truck, had to order it from Samsung. Once part arrives call for return service. 1/11/21 we called to schedule another service call, was given an appointment on 1/20/21 & confirmed by email. Guess what know one showed up, after multiple calls to Lowe's & A&E repair...soonest appointment 1/29/21. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. Would not recommend Lowe's for appliance purchases. We even found a company that would come service the dryer by 1/26 & Lowe's wouldn't ok the service. Believe me moving forward only going to Sears & Home Depot, as any issues were ALWAYS resolved within a week. read more

We live in the Bay Area, but we have a small home in Twain Harte, so when we need home improvement products, we always go to Lowe's in Sonora. I have to say that this Lowe's store has THE BEST customer service of any Lowe's we've ever gone to. There are plenty of employees in each department, and they are all willing to help us find exactly what we're looking for. First I have to tell you that I have not cared for Lowe's but today I went there to look for a Christmas Tree. I needed and saw a gentleman with the Lowe's vest and asked if he could help me and he said I'm the maintenance guy but sure, I can help you. He went out of his way to help me find the tree I wanted and prepared it for me to take home and put it in my car. I made sure that the rest of the employees knew that Mark was awesome. They didn't have the greatest attitudes, but I didn't care. Mark the Maintenance guy wins a lot of points in my eyes. Thank you for making my experience at Lowe's a good one. God bless read more

This Lowe's has been around for a few years now, and the experiences I've had there have been pretty mixed. They have just about anything you could need as far as hardware and home improvement things go, which is great! The employees usually seem friendly and eager to help if you look lost. The downsides are definitely their prices (some are higher than other places, some are lower), but Home improvement stuff typically doesn't come cheap. We have had a pretty bad experience with the delivery to the store. We had ordered a washer and dryer and were told that both were in and ready for pick up. We had planned a delivery to our house but we live out of their 7 days a week delivery area (funny how the sign didn't say anything about that at the time), so instead of taking a day off work, we decided to get the truck and get the things ourselves. They promptly got our dryer. No washing machine to be found. We showed them the info stating the product was there. After about an hour, they came out with a washing machine that definitely had someone else's last name on it. Sorry to those folks, hopefully they got their product without a wait too. We also ordered a fridge a few years later and it was delivered damaged. We got some money back and better service with that transaction! read more

It seems that no one really knows much. It takes multiple people to answer only 50% of your questions. The person who deals with the online orders is not helpful, and hard to get a hold of. We were not kept in the loop when a product we ordered was on back order and would be several weeks delayed. Then when the product finally it come it was not the product that was described online, it was almost half the length which put another wrench in our project because we had placed our order based on the measurements listed online. So, naturally we called to clear things up, and the product we wanted only comes in the smaller length. False advertising. To rectify the situation Lowe's only gave us a 10% discount for our trouble. The project has already been delayed by 3 weeks, we purchased a product listed at a certain price per a certain length and now we have to wait another 10 days and pay additional money for something that was falsely advertised. Our dishwasher broke down, and we decided to wait a couple months to buy one, because there are usually good deals for Memorial Day. We got a bit of a sale price, and paid for delivery and installation. They were supposed to call the next day to scheduled the delivery, and they never called. I waited 3 days and then called Lowes about the delivery. I was put on hold, then told to call the delivery company, and I had to leave a message. Eventually I spoke to someone and made an appointment for it to be delivered and installed. The soonest we could get an appointment was close to 3 weeks later. I wasn't happy about how long it would take, but I was understanding. They never showed, and never called. I called Lowes again, I was told they aren't using that company anymore, and to call this other place. After endless phone calls, 2 different delivery companies, 3 no show, and 6 weeks of no delivery, we cancelled the whole order. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

My husband and I went to Lowe's yesterday. The place was packed with people. None of the employees were wearing masks. Very few Customers were wearing masks. There was no way to follow any kind of social distancing. It was a nightmare. And ironically they kept announcing over the loud speaker that we should be practicing social distancing. Check out was also a joke. There wasn't any way we could stay 2 feet away, let alone six feet, from the people in our line. I didn't just feel uncomfortable, I felt unsafe. I could hardly wait to get out of the store. At the very least they should have limited the number of people in the store. My husband and I were wearing masks and my husband spoke with a man, who also wore a mask, who said he was from the Bay Area and that this sort of situation would never have happened there. I feel strongly that it was irresponsible for Lowes to treat their employees and the public in such a disrespectful way. We went to Lowe's for a specific reason and were out as soon as possible. I will be calling the Corporate Offices to find out what their protocol is and will also be reporting them to the appropriate government authorities and the media. This isn't a joke. People need to be able to rely on those companies who are deemed essential businesses to do the right thing to protect all of us. I tried all day yesterday to speak with the manager and could never get through to anyone. I won't be shopping at Lowe's. read more

No show... just got off the phone with Lowe's in Sonora, CA. I made a $2000.00 in store purchase on 10/052021. Original delivery date was the first week in November. I get a call from Lowe's (Ivan) saying they are pushing the delivery out to the 19th or 20th. On the 19th, I drive 147 miles so I am present for the delivery. On the 20th at 10:04am I get the automated notification that my delivery will arrive in 49 minutes. No show... 1:15pm I am on the phone with Lowe's (Tammy). They confirmed that I was scheduled and said my order was on the flatbed and they were to deliver it later in the afternoon. 5:30pm still no show. So I call again only to be put on hold for a manager, only to be conveniently hung up on. Three more calls... they don't even pick up the call. They must have caller ID. Finally, a guy (Will) answered and says they have not even received it from the vendor. Kind of odd that it was there on the truck that morning, but by that evening it mysteriously never was there? Somebody's a liar... or they all are liars. I am so pissed right now read more

Ok - so Lowe's thinks they are environmentally conscientious - so why don't they carry clothespins????? In 100 degree heat the warm power of the sun can dry my clothes - if only I could buy some clothespins to hang them from. Come on Lowes! I have had the worse experience trying to get a swamp cooler, ordered, delivered, installed and the old one hauled away. I have talked to 6 different people in this store. I even called to confirm that everything was a go because I had already been charged for all of this. This was on 6/29/17. There has been one problem after another. (unbelieveable) Finally it was suppose to installed tomorrow 6/15/17. Today the manager in installation called me and told me Lowe's truck ran over my unit and it would take 3-4 more days to get one in store. WHAT???? This has been a total nightmare and I have called corporate office 3 times to file a complaint. It is suppose to by 108 degrees in 4 days. I will never deal with Lowe's again. read more

Received a voicemail the night before giving me a window between 12 & 4 pm for delivery - still not a problem. At 4:00 pm no phone call, no washer. Lowe's is a big box store. In many ways it supports and helps our communities here in the Mother Lode. Some people like, some do not. Some people drive Chevy's, Fords or whatever. Its their/our choice. OSH will probably & eventually be consumed by Lowe's as the bankruptcy will eventually force merging the 2 stores that sit around the corner from one another. Lowe's has much more offerings, while OSH still works in the 1970's mindset, with pricing that is galactic. As an Arnold resident, and ex-OSH corporate employee, so be it. Again was told they would call us back with some information ASAP. A few days went by. We called again, was told the same thing. Just called a third time, still waiting for a response. A very nice store staffed with people to help in most areas (not window coverings on the days I've been there). First time purchased carpet and the guys messed up a lot of paint in my house with handprints that could not be washed off. Manager made it right, but it took some time and persistence. Second time biting from this store, fridge arrived dented but we accepted 10% off, but after the delivery people left, discovered a few scratches in the stainless steel due to carelessness after unpacking at the store. They take your new appliance out of the box and it is subject to damage before delivery. The delivery staff were very careful in the house and we appreciated that. Now, we thought we qualified for the rebate promotion for purchasing two Kitchenaid appliances, and opted to buy extended warranties with the rebate money. We then received a letter stating we didn't meet the requirements of the rebate. Basically nothing qualifies because we had a 10% off coupon and that negated the rebate! Buyer beware. read more

Worst customer service ever. I was treated very poorly by an employee in the garden center. (short, bald, older guy) When I told him that I would like to purchase 50 of the stackable retaining wall block, he rolled his eyes and said " oh shit". I paid for my items and waited for over 40 minutes, all the while watching this guy helping other customers and responding to me in a condescending way each time I asked him to please help me load my purchase. Finally, he pulled the pallet of block and instructed me to pull my truck around for loading. When I arrived at the loading area the pallet of block was there but this employee was no where to be found. I loaded the block myself, which was quite a chore. When I was almost done loading, a cute young lady in a truck pulled up to have something loaded and whoa and behold, baldy appeared out of nowhere to help her. Tried numerous times to complain to the manager and either she is not available or no one answers the phone. Never again. Lowe's in Sonora, Ca. is terrible. read more

3 stars because it has everything we need up here, but don't expect anyone to be able to answer your questions, make sure you do your own research before you go if it's a DIY project. It is also nice to have large appliances in stock! Even though they have the drive through loading section don't expect someone to actually load it for you. I have had many issues with that and learned not to send my wife to get anything she can't load herself! If you need assistance with loading or are buying multiple bags of cement or building materials go to OSH, you just drive around back and there are people waiting, you give them your receipt and bam, you have a loaded truck with what you purchased! Andy's was always good loading too but unfortunatly they are closed. read more

Where to start. In 2 days I made 3 trips to Lowes to purchase a refrigerator & washer. We knew what we wanted and couldn't get anyone to help us. Waited over 30 minutes both times on first day, totaling around an hour & a half. On the second day waited over an hour at appliances while calling from my cell phone at the store listening and watching the phone ring in appliances & announcements asking someone to assist appliances. Finally, about an hour in, went to customer service and asked to speak with a supervisor or manager. Employee at customer service had no support and tried to help multiple times by calling and announcing but couldn't get any help for him or I. About 30 minutes later I called corporate to make a formal complaint. The gentleman I spoke with did his job professionally and took my complaint and let me know that I would hear from a store manager within 24 hours. After a bit longer I had to leave as we were moving. Going on 2 days later have not heard a thing. I wouldn't write a review for this alone, just take my business elsewhere. What I'm writing this for is what I witnessed while waiting for close to 3 hours during the 3 total visits. What I did not mention is that at no point was this store busy. Employees outnumbered cectomers generously 2:1 but way more likely 3:1, if not more. Before I make the following accounts I understand employees are also assigned to projects and duties that a customer is unaware of but I also know what I witnessed and experienced is at a systemic level from bottom to top at Lowes Corporation. Shareholders need to be concerned. All employees and I mean all avoid eye contact with all customers as in a way to not be asked a question or get interrupted. In no way did I see one employee tell a patron trying to ask them say anything to the fact of "I have to finish this and I or someone could come help you" or "When I'm done helping this person I'll be back to help you". Which would have been a hard one to pull off because I witnessed nearly extinct interaction of an employee helping a customer. What I witnessed was employees in groups walking and immediately turning down isles when a customer would try to approach them. Pretending to be on phone calls. I saw one guest try to get an employees attention to ask a question. That employee immediately darted right, down an isle. The customer followed continually raising her voice while the employee head down kept picking up her pace to create distance. I witnessed so many of these accounts during my visit it had become comical. After the previous incident, is when I decided to go to customer service and speak with supervisor or management. I was curious to see how it would be addressed and it want. So, being inquisitive I decided to go corporate complaint, politely. Once again it wasn't. I witnessed the worst customer service behavior I've ever seen in those 3 visits. I'm truly ignorant on how a company can be successful behaving in this manner. This seems to be an issue from leadership down. read more

Picked out wonderful laminate flooring and got an installation bid. Frank, the installer starts to rip out old floor and determines there is more work to do and doubles the installation bid! Tried to work with Lowe's to get another installer out there to bid, that was discussed, and weeks of waiting, they declined to do it. I found a local installer who is doing more work than Lowe's and for their original price. This installer, Frank, either didn't want the job or tried to make money off of someone who has a weekend home. Wrong all the way around! read more

I recently bought an LG washer and dryer from Lowe's. They provided me with a conversion part to go from natural gas to propane which I have in my home. They gave me only the orifice, but not the instructions as to how to have it installed. I needed instructions to provide to the installer. I called LG they told me I needed to get from Lowe's - I called Lowe's was put on hold several times but no one there could provide this. They then told me I could pay $189.00 to have their installer come out, but they could not tell me if the installer could replace the orifice without the instructions. I got the royal run around - I will never by any appliance from this Lowe's again - they can't handle even basic requests. read more

Similar experience as Marc. This area seems to be full of people unwilling to work even when they are, wait for it, at work. Good luck going to this location if you need help finding what you want. After twenty minutes circling the store an employee actually asked me if he could help but it was a one and done. For the rest of my time there I saw multiple employees conversing with themselves or generally avoiding engaging customers altogether, other than to beep at them. Such a disappointing location. Two stars for cleanliness of store. I am thinking next time, if there is one, I will paste a sign on my forehead that says "yes I need help". Then I will at least get me some assistance, whether it would be finding a part I'm looking for or getting me escorted off the property who's to say? read more

Terrible experience trying to get carpet installed in my home. I went in and paid for a measure for carpet to be installed. The company who was supposed to come out never showed up. I live out of the area so its not so easy to just reschedule for another day. Ultimately the contractor who was supposed to do the measure was not able to give me a day that I could make work. I called the store and was told by the associate that they have had problems with that company so she would have someone else contact me for my measure. After two weeks there was still no call from their contractor. I had called the store several times and eventually called the contractor myself. No answer from the contractor and no return call. Lowes staff just seemed to shrug their shoulders and said there wasn't much they could do about it. Even spoke to David the manager who told me that they really didn't have any power over their contractors to get them to respond. They seemed more interested in just returning my money and making me go away than resolving the problem. Its a pity that Lowes has these type of contractors working for them. I get that they are independent from Lowes but ultimately they do represent Lowes and the type of service that they provide. If that is how this stores installation services are represented then I would suggest that you look elsewhere for any similar type of service. read more

It depends on who you work with. Great customer service in home design, and appliances. Not so great In carpeting. It's now delaying our whole move, because of a mistake on their part. The accounting of this project has been a nightmare. They will gladly take your money immediately, but refunds due to their issue not so easy. I had to pay twice for the same product, and the responsibility is on you to track, Even though it was not your mistake.Frustrating very very frustrating. The manager dealing with was rude, cut me off, and basically told me he couldn't/wouldn't help expedite my order. Again, it was Lowe's mistake, not mine. read more

Customer service seems to be falling down . Went to Lowes this morning to get estimates for special order counter tops and found the representative had gone on break but would be right back. Waited 15 minutes ,to no avail. left for babysitting duties. Came back at 3:00 pm. Waited around the kitchen project center for 10 minutes. No representative in the area. Asked for help at the customer service desk. She paged both employees to the desk. After another 10 minutes of searching for help I finally realized Home Depot may be a better choice for this project. I do miss Andy's. On my way out of the store I told the customer service rep that there was still a problem and that maybe someone should tell one of the two employees to stay close to the area of employment. read more
