Pretty solid bagel shop offering several lox and other loaded sandwich options. 10+ bagel types available including the standards but also some harder to find flavors like nori-sesame. The bagels were good, chewy and crispy. Priced around $3 per bagel. The sandwich options are numerous with different fish types. I opted for the Brooklyn which was loaded. The Brooklyn comes with an everything bagel as the standard, but next time I'll swap it out for something more neutral. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is bright, with seating available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was ok, ordering happens through a self serve kiosk. Every sandwich order is made fresh, so there may be a wait (unless you get a bagel only). Location is near the Beacon Hill light rail station, but hard to find as it is away from core foot traffic. Street parking in a residential area. Loxsmith bagels is definitely a gem to have in south seattle. I hope they continue to get more customers!

    Yummy 12 bagels

Bagels were fresh and yummy and staff was so kind and talkative!! Definitely will be coming back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The little store has so much life and the tables with little drawings is so adorable[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]! COME GET FOOD HERE ITS FIRE!

Update: the owner called me and we discussed how there are different styles of bagels and bialys, and he was sorry we didn't like his. He also said the link for ordering online through Doordash is new, and they have kinks to workout. He offered to provide a refund. I think he tried to provide good customer service and appreciated that. This place is not going to make it. I heard they have bialys, which are hard to find here. I called and was advised to get a dozen I'd better order online to ensure they have them. I now see why. I went in to pickup my order and they had hardly any available bagels to buy, except a large basket of day old bagels. They didn't even have a plain. So I got an everything bagel and my other tried an egg bagel, and I got my dozen bialy. The bagels had a nice crust, but we're just big heavy rolls. The everything bagel was overloaded with "everything", which is normally a good thing. However, this mix had sooo much burned garlic in the mix it was all I could taste and it was really unpleasant. In the picture you can see it - AFTER I brushed off such as I could. Nothing special about the egg bagel at all. Other than the color. The bialys, the reason we came, were the biggest disappointment. Huge bready rolls. The only way they resembled a bialy was the big wad of onion in the middle. And the kicker? Because I ordered from the link on the website, I was charged $32 for the dozen instead of $28. When I complained I was told "I only work here" and if I wanted to discuss with a manager I could try calling or emailing. I do not recommend this place for bagels, bialys or customer service.

Long-time regular, both Delridge and Beacon Hill. I always get the Loxsmith. Stellar lox, chewy and crisp bagel, perfect schmear. It's a true treat. Seeing some of these other reviews, I'm surprised. Running a business is never easy, and people are only human, but I've never had anything less than a 5-star experience in my mouth. Facts.

The bakery and sales area take uo the entire ground floor of an unassuming house in a residential neighborhood. Clean, light and airy atmosphere with plenty of room to work. The metal shelves were superbly organized and packed full of bagels. Easy to get to by bus from downtown. Charming and cheerful staff. I went on a Saturday morning around 1030 and there was only a small line, which moved very quickly. This is not a cafe - you are here to buy bagels and the fixings. Okay, they also sell coffee and tea, muffins, and a yummy chocolate chip cookie. (Had to try one if I'm coming all the way from downtown!) Bagels were baked perfectly. Each one looks as if it was made individually- the level of detail of the flavors, rhe color, the texture. Nice chewy crust with a light interior. They toast up beautifully (at home - no slicing or roasting at the bakery). This is a bagel that says "hey, have another one" rather than the kind which lay in your stomach. I didn't try the spreads, but have absolute confidence that they would be marvelous. Worth every second of the 30-minute bus ride. Heck. Go out of your way to come here!

We tried the pizza bagel and the everything bagel with chive schmear. The flavors were spot on; the everything bagel had a great seasoning ratio, and the chive schmear was fresh and creamy. My particular bagel was a little on the drier side, but even then, it is still a very strong contender for Seattle standards. If you are looking for a high-quality bagel and don't mind a little line, this place is definitely a must-visit. I'll be back to try a few more of their schmear flavors soon!

On my most recent visit, I also tried the black sesame bagel with butter. It was good, but there was a bit more butter than I would have preferred, and the standard toast wasn't quite crispy enough for my liking. That's an easy fix though, and I'll just ask for it toasted a bit longer and less butter next time. I really love the location of this spot and am hoping to check out their other location soon. They share a great outdoor seating area with Sea Wolf Bakers and also have a small amount of indoor seating. There's usually a line on weekday mornings and a longer one on weekends, but it moves surprisingly quickly, so the wait has never felt unreasonable. One thing I especially appreciate is how light these bagels are compared to some other Seattle bagel shops. They have a great chew without feeling overly dense. Service has always been friendly and efficient. I still haven't tried any of their fish sandwiches, but that's next on my list. Until then, I'm perfectly happy sticking with a classic sesame bagel and cream cheese.

Bonus: this spot is kosher! Potato Latkes (5/5): These latkes are thick boys and fried up so they're piping hot when they hit the table. Because of their size, you really get the contrast of the hard crunch on the outside with super fluffy potato inside. So good we immediately turned around and ordered more. Chocolate Babka (2/5): This was truly the only miss I've had here. Unfortunately, the babka just really dries out after it's been sliced, which is a shame because it's just gorgeous with generous swirls of chocolate inside. Reuben (5/5): I really thought their pastrami couldn't be beat, but the brisket is dare I say better? Just as tender and feels a bit less fatty, so it's a little more crushable. Tip: go for the seeded rye over the marbled rye; something about the marbled rye just falls apart a bit more with the juices of the meat, though it's still delicious! Black & White Cookies (4/5): I expected this to be cloyingly sweet, but this was actually scrumptious with some fresh lemon flavor in the cookie itself. Absolutely massive as well.

Do you happen to live in Washington and miss said pastrami sando? My friend, I have good news for you. Dingfelder's pastrami is a dead ringer for that sandwich: huge slices of melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, regular and half sour pickles, and all the other accoutrements you'd expect from a legit Jewish deli. This place doesn't screw around. If you want a great, hearty, flavor-packed sandwich, this is one of the best places to throw your money. But, as others have pointed out, it's no cheap date: expect to pay over $20 for one of those mighty pastrami sandwiches. This isn't Subway so you're not saving money by eating here, but after one bite of their pastrami you'll understand why you're paying so much. Quality isn't cheap. A few things to consider: I've never had a bagel on its own here, only a bagel sandwich. So I don't feel as though I can give an expert opinion on the bagels. However, they do work very well for the sandwiches. The everything bagel is absolutely loaded with seasoning, and has an incredible saltiness (I'm a salty man, so this is a good thing). I feel as though this elevates the eggs to a new level. I was immediately drawn to a pastrami breakfast sandwich, because it's a top tier meat. This will feel more like you're eating thin roast beef because of the color, but it's still pretty good. I do think that this sandwich needs some acidity to balance out all of the fat, so grab some hot sauce at the counter. Overall this was a great sandwich, and I would get it again. That being said, I feel like the bagels are lacking due to a fault in a core ingredient. They all come with potatoes, and I think that they're either boiled or not quite roasted enough. Having to deal with undercooked potatoes dispersed throughout a mondo burrito is a battle that I'm unwilling to wage - but people seem to love 'em. The other ingredients and overall flavor is nice, though. Rachel's is a fun place with good coffee, too. And they let me bring my dog in which is dope.
