Came with a group of four for Sunday brunch. Two of us got the special - Belgian waffles, bacon and 2 eggs at 8.99 and two of us got the eggs Benedict at 11.99. We waited probably 20m for the special to arrive, and another 20m for the eggs Benedicts, which was a ridiculous wait. It was pretty empty with only one other table so not sure why we has to wait so long. The food itself: the eggs Benedict were not the greatest. The ham was thick which felt strange to bite into with the soggy combination of the bread, spinach, and eggs. The fruit given weren't ripe enough. It was a disappointment and was definitely overpriced. The waffles were nothing special and not crunchy enough. Ambience: it was a bit run down and the seats looked like they were going to come off soon. Service was pretty decent. Overall: it was alright, but don't think we will be coming back anytime soon. read more

L's Caffe serves lots of food and coffee. They have outdoor seating during COVID in the front and back. The back patio has 2 small tables and 2 medium sized tables, each seating up to 2 or 4 respectively. There's wifi, but no outlets. There's a stray black cat that comes by frequently to steal food from you if you choose to give him some. It's quiet if you come in the morning. Parking may be difficult to find within a few blocks of this place. It's a solid place. read more

Whenever I'm in town visiting my boyfriend's family, we would occasionally come here for a quick breakfast bite. I've gotten multiple bagel orders and they've all been delicious. The iced coffee isn't too shabby either. The price is great, but parking can be a hassle. This is a good, cozy place to bring your laptop. Their organic coffee is passable. The food is above average for a coffeehouse, there are plenty of power outlets, a bathroom, padded seating and free wi-fi. Local art adorns the walls. The vibe is relaxed and clean. The service is very friendly. Bring your headphones unless you enjoy listening to Lionel Richie and/or you run into the guy who chews gum with his mouth open. The menu includes made to order sandwiches ($6.50 and up), soup, salads, wine, beer, pastries (muffins, scones, croissants and custard empanadas), savory Argentinian empanadas, bagels, cookies, and of course coffee and tea. I noticed that their salads are generously sized and quite popular. I think I also spotted alfajores (sandwich cookies with dulce de leche). I had 1/2 a grilled chicken sandwich and 1/2 of the tofu & almond salad. Both were fresh and tasty. The chicken came on a nice toasted rosemary focaccia with Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato & onions. Simple and satisfying. The bread was much better than I expected. The half salad was huge. It featured marinated tofu pieces and lots of thin almond slivers with mixed greens. I tried the chicken empanada and the shredded chicken inside was sooooo dry (too bad). This is a great spot I stumbled upon taking a walk on 24th street. Their bagel sandwich was really good and the iced coffee was Really good. Best cafe place on 24th st. I remember coming here in the early 2010s when this was one of the first cafe places that provided wifi to their customers. I would come in and work on assignments while enjoying a nice Tea. Moving forwards to 2022 I was able to bring my first born daughter here and they gave amazing service. I ordered a Buffalo Sandwich and it was delicious. Staff was awesome not only to me and the service they provided but also to my little girl. 10/10 would recommend read more

The people here are so friendly, the prices for the quality and quantity are quite reasonable. Everything is fresh and presented so beautifully. For November, we decided to go on a walking tour of mural art in the Mission District of SF. As usual, the main question became "where should we eat"? The person in charge of this event asked the organizer of the tour "what restaurant in the area would you recommend for 12-14 people"? The answer was L's Caffe. - Dining Room: Kind of unusual, but so is the neighborhood ( depending on your point of reference. Our's is San Jose and Los Gatos ). There are tables for dining on the left side of L's and chairs for reading/laptop work/schmoozing on the right. If you're not at a table and want to order something, go to the counter a few steps above the main floor. The room itself seemed warm and comfortable...like an old easy chair at home. Nothing fancy or fastidious,, but interesting in a funky 60s-70s sort of way. - Menu: L's serves breakfast, lunch and coffee/snacks. We arrived at 1245 PM, so it was clearly time for lunch. The menu focused on sandwiches and salads with 1 soup of the day. - Food: Hit and miss. I started with corn chowder which had lots of nice corn, but about a bucket of salt. My wife tried some and made a nasty face ( not her usual nice one ). We both had the Grilled Vegetable Panini which was excellent. It was accompanied by a small potato salad and a small fruit salad. Reactions from our friends were varied. Most gave a thumbs up, but there were at least 2 detractors. One person asked for a roast beef sandwich without the cheese. However, it came without anything except roast beef, so she asked for "at least the onions" and received good size bowl of roasted onions. Another person, generally easy to please, said his sandwich was only "fair". I usually have beer with this type of meal, but just went with the water which was placed on each table in big bottles. Unfortunately, I believe it came from a less than reputable source, such as the toilet. It had an odd taste and even odder aftertaste. That beer looked mighty good, but its time had past. - Wine and Beer: The choices were limited, but they did have 3 beers on tap ( light, medium and dark ). - Service: I bet it's normally very good for groups of 1, 2, 3 or 4 people...but we had 14. It took 30 minutes for the soup to arrive and another 20 minutes for the first 8 people to be served. 4 more got their plates 5 minutes later...1 got his 10 minutes later and the final sandwich arrived 15 minutes after the first 8 people were served. Many were done by that time. Why the staggered pace? I saw the kitchen and it's probably just not big enough to handle 14 dishes at one time. On the plus side, our server was friendly and helpful, but some things were beyond her control. - Price and Value: Very reasonable. Our soup and sandwiches were $30, including tax. - Bathroom: There's one. It's locked and the key ( for customers? ) is attached to a long ladel by the counter. The room was small, but relatively clean. The dispenser for paper towels seemed to be out of commission. - Parking: If you know the Mission District, you know the answer. Not too good. Either you get real lucky, find a space and have 20 quarters for the meter...park far away and walk...or move into the neighborhood. If I lived near the Mission District, my wife and I would probably go to L's Caffe for lunch. However, for groups of more than 4, we'd most likely look elsewhere. read more

Love! My favorite neighborhood cafe for quick lunches and comfort food. Super friendly and obviously hardworking staff, and a cute space to sit and get some work done pre-COVID times. My go-to's are the breakfast burrito with chorizo (bomb!), lox bagel, and tuna melt but everything else is good, too. They're still open during shelter-in-place! read more

What can I say? I love this place. Another place in the mission that offers that true 24th experience. The coffee is delicious,I order the chai here a lot because they have it down to a C ;) and the caffeine is sufficient. I bring all my friends and we chat about the latest incomings and outgoings. The dining room isn't huge but definitely spacious enough to house a bit. The food however is very surprising and great for just a regular cafe. I've had veggie sandwiches here that don't make you miss meat, I've had a Belgian waffle here that I couldn't finish because of how big the portion was. It's amazing.
