The Rose planted against the wall

The Mission is full of cafes with drinks and a variety of different types of drinks. March is Women's history month and it is always good to see women owned businesses in San Francisco and especially in the Mission District in the hood I grew up in. San Francisco is also having a heat wave this week in March just before St.Patricks Day. One drink which I enjoy which is green and is good for any occasion especially during St. Patrick's week. Don Juan's de la Matcha favorite drink can be found in a variety of places in the Mission but there is one place which has everything from boba to matcha drinks and it's called Sister Coffee Shop. On the last week of Winter on the hottest day on record for a March day I was on Valencia street in search of having something refreshing when it's over 80 degrees in San Francisco. I landed at Sisters Coffee Shop on Valencia street. Sisters Coffee Shop is owned by two sisters which has lots of Mexican drinks and dishes along with boba, bagels and matcha. So Don Juan de la Matcha got the matcha. It was smooth and not too sweet. It as refreshing and hit the spot with every drop. A good place to grab a refreshing on Valencia street in the Mission. You can always take it to go to Dolores Park. Don Juan del Matcha enjoys his matcha that is "green"all four seasons including St. Patrick's Day and in SF where everyday is "Halloween" this place is electric it has a digital menu "screen" a good place to grab a cup of "caffeine" Come to a place where sisters make food and drinks in the Mexican heritage and "tradition"and it's in the heart of the "Mission" they serve cold drinks on a hot day hotter than a restaurant"kitchen" they also have vegan food items for better " nutrition"

one of the best cafes to work yet :") fast free wifi, lots of small-party tables, and surprisingly not a lot of people who dine in. also, the staff are the sweetest! make sure to try their specialty lattes!

I'm normally not in the Mission District, but since I know this place, thanks to "toogoodtogo, I get some cool pastries/drinks for half the price. Cute little coffee shop. Everything is pink and stylish with flowers. To my observation, it looks like they have little events here and there. When we stopped by the second time, they had to "have a coffee with a cop event." That's pretty cool! I would definitely stop by here each time I will be in the Mission District, but it's very rare.

Service: 5 stars! Ambiance/Cleanliness/inviting space: 4 stars! Drinks: 2.5 stars This shop is super cute! It was very clean, and the service was very good. The employees were very nice! We ordered a strawberry lemonade and an iced toasted marshmallow latte. My daughter said the lemonade was just ok. The toasted marshmallow latte was kind of bland....maybe a little too sweet as well.

Their pastries pretty good once you heat them back up. The Taro boba is decent too but tastes like they use the same powder as Kung Fu Tea. Indoor and outdoor seating.

When ordering our drinks, the cashier made mistakes twice, which delayed the process. The cafe wasn't busy at the time, but the staff seemed more focused on chatting with each other, so it took longer than expected to receive our drinks. I ordered a hot rose latte and was pretty disappointed. It was overwhelmingly sweet and overly perfumed--rose lattes can sometimes have a floral intensity, but this one was too much to the point that I couldn't even finish it. Even with the cute photo-op wall, I don't see myself coming back.

Not worth the money. Bacon was undercooked, the place was freezing, and the coffee was lukewarm and basic. A small coffee, juice, and bagel cost $30.

It is verrrry pink inside this cafe. I ordered a custom Iced Specialty Latte via the Local by Toast app. I chose regular milk, decaf and Cookies & Cream and Marzipan syrups. Friendly service. Big space for SF. A tad warm inside, but there's outdoor parklets available too. Bathroom located in the back for customers only, accessible by code.

Nice, local coffee shop in the heart of Valencia street. Service was fast and friendly. The owner recommended the pistachio latte and it was amazing. Nutty and sweet. Definitely would be a good place to catch a drink and relax outside. They also provide catering. Stop in and enjoy a nice cold drink

Every time I have come here the service has been really great and the space is very clean. They have a pretty good menu with a lot of options, but I've never been able to order anything that I've loved. I will say that this is a good spot for an affordable bagel with cream cheese and comparison to other bakeries in the neighborhood where bagels are overpriced.

I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. The lady that I was watching was there for the matcha and I can understand why now. We tried the Yuzu Matcha Air Cloud and a Caramel Latte because I felt like we needed to try the coffee since it's a Coffee shop though I have to say I was not a fan of the coffee. We arrived just before the line outside started to form. There's seating available inside with a couple of people that seemed to be working. We originally sat in the middle section with the small round table that can't be moved but then a table opened up. There's a gender neutral restroom available that always seemed to have a line though I guess that's what happens at coffee shops. ~~Service: Good. It was quick to order and surprisingly very quick to receive our drinks as well. ~~Best Part: The Matcha. The coffee was a bit too bitter but it could be due to the fact that I do prefer to drink dark roasts. ~~Worst Part: Nit though maybe it's just me where we were expecting there to be a trash at the entrance so that we could throw away our cups as we were leaving but I guess there's no room for the bins at the beginning so you have to walk to the back towards the restroom to throw it away. ~~Tips: Get the matcha. I wanted to get the velvet but it looked so basic compared to the Yuzu matcha air cloud. The Yuzu flavor itself was refreshing in the foam form but I'm very basic when it comes to flavors and shouldn't have mixed the foam in because it was messing with me. ~~Return: Probably not. I wanted to check the receipt because somehow 2 drinks was nearly $20 but I realized there wasn't even an option to get a receipt.

Whether you are in the mood for a katsu sando, curry over rice, ochazuke with their matcha twist, or something sweet like the matcha cream pie, it is hard to go wrong here. All of the savory dishes I have tried have been great, but the fish katsu sando is one of my absolute favorites. The huge fish fillets are perfectly fried and flaky, tucked inside pillowy shokupan and topped with tangy yuzu shio koji sauce, tomato spread, and fresh crunchy cabbage. Every component works together beautifully, with richness, brightness, and texture all in balance. The pork katsu curry over rice is another standout. The katsu comes sliced into thick pieces that are still juicy inside, and it is fried expertly so the breading stays attached as you eat it. The curry has a really balanced flavor, even if I would not mind a little more spice, while the pickled radishes provide a nice contrast. I always add an onsen egg (for an additional $2) because breaking the runny yolk and mixing it into the curry adds another layer of velvety richness and creaminess. You can also tell they use high-quality matcha in their drinks, so the beverage menu is really more about choosing what fits your mood that day vs avoiding any bad options.
