The churros, gelatins, and cakes are delicious, but this lady is RUDE AF. It's not just one incident, it's many. From intentionally upselling a different customer for a bigger cake when the customer asking her for a smaller cake, and gaslighting her into believing no such cake exists, only for the same customer seeing me take a much smaller cake, confirming smaller cakes existed (and there were many in stock). In another instance she decided to help other customers who arrived later and she kept me and a few others waiting, as if our time was not important. My family says the same thing about her too, so anyhoo, I'm not alone. Someone needs to teach her soft skills and to put her biases aside. Lucero's is confusing on Yelp since there are two locations. I haven't been to the other one lately (which is literally down the street), but this one has expanded. They still offer the lovely range of baked goods, churros, and cakes, flans, etc. It looks like they also offer whole cakes as well. Churros- just give them your money. They have regular churros and filled ones (Nutella, cajeta, mango, lemon, guava, etc.). Champurrado- hot and inviting. The large is gigantic Service is fast and no nonsense. They're very thorough, though. It's not really a place to hang out and eat, but you can stand around and scarf down a churros if you'd like. Parking is ok. I first found Lucero's years ago when they were at the corner of Jaboneria and Gage. That's when I first tried their churros. Best churros I ever tasted, even better than Disneyland's! Made fresh daily; crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. The ones with fillings are also delicious. They have cajeta, vanilla, chocolate, and other new flavors. Their current location off gage is so big and modern! You can see and smell the fresh baked goods on the racks. They also offer other dessert items like flan and rice pudding as well as pan dulce.
