I go to Luciano's quite a bit. However, I'm recently disappointed. I went forThanksgiving and got the same Turkey that the serve in the Publix in Florida. A few weeks ago I ordered a glass of wine at the bar with my dinner. It was delicious, but when I asked the bartender to show me the label, it was not the wine I ordered. Yesterday, I went with a friend and the waiter asked me three times to remind me of my vegetable order, and he brought a different vegetable that was sitting in a pool of water. I have always loved this place, but for the money it was disappointing. I am not trying to be a jerk, but I roughly spend 100 dollars ( on myself) and I expect more for that. read more

The food here was great. If you love italian food and enjoy a nice wine and dine then you'd like this place. It's pricey but delicious. I came here with a group of friends and family so It wasnt my preference of food but it was definitely good. They had some great appetizers and lots of options. I personally stuck with a healthier option for the main course. I seriously have no idea how this establishment has so many stars. The food was horrible. The best part of my meal was the bread and salad which I don't have to go to a ridiculously high priced restaurant to find. We had a 7:00 reservation We arrived at 6:45 and the wait to park was close to 30min... we parked in an adjacent parking lot so confusing why no parking?? We were sat at a tiny table against a wall I realize there was probably a lot of Christmas celebrations with large parties Our Appetizer of calamari was dry, crisp and definitely over cooked but by the time our server returned we just ordered our dinners My fault should have told the server the poor quality of calamari Our dinners arrived shortly after I had a seafood and pasta way more pasta than seafood! Ok...here's the deal. Old school crowd, old School entertainment and old school menu. Bartenders are great but menu is basic and/or nonexistent ie no cocktail menu. Place clears out at 10:30 pm hence the staff starts to break down all the tables, chairs and filling of the condiments as you wrap up your conversation. Excellent food and service! Came here for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. This is a very nice Italian restaurant, perfect for a special occasion or any night out when you want the best in dining. The chicken provencale was amazing, as was the garden salad and tiramisu - delicious! Wasn't able to have any wine because I was driving, but their list looked interesting and extensive. We've been going for a couple times a month even during the pandemic. Always been very satisfied. Tonight we went a party of six. We waited over two hours for our meal. I asked our waitress three times to check on our order. She kept saying it's a Saturday night and we've been there many Saturdays and never waited so long. After the room cleared out and two hours later my husband got up to ask and was told they were Just starting our order. We said never mind just give us our bill for our cocktails and appetizers and we'd be on way. We had family who had traveled quite a distance. I went here for a work function. Atmosphere is super sexy. Dark, romantic- perfect for a date night. I didn't like that they didn't have a drink menu. They deceive you by thinking you have to purchase wine by the bottle. But food was good and I would definitely come here again. read more

I honestly don't know why this restaurant gets so many raves but we think they are overrated and completely overpriced. Last night was the second time we tried them for my birthday. The host took us far in the back and said they like to spread their patrons apart but ended up seating other patrons around us which was fine but why say that, then cram people around us? Lol. The waiter was very nice and respectful. My husband mentioned we were celebrating my birthday which would have been nice to have been offered a complimentary dessert but also no big deal. The waiter served dipping oil & some kind of homemade bread which was dry but then came over with other rolls which was much better. Salads were good. My husband wanted a creamy Italian which they didn't have but the waiter suggested to mix the peppercorn with their Italian & he loved it. I had the balsamic dressing which I also liked. My husband ordered the gnocchi which he liked but I thought although the gnocchi itself was good, the sauce tasted like it came from a jar. Very disappointed. I ordered the lamb which at first I thought was good but after a few bites it started tasting gamey, and was tasteless & unfortunately chewy. We didn't order any apps or desserts because we had movie tickets and was afraid of missing it. My husband had one beer & I had one glass of pear sangria which was heh and the bill was over $125. I wouldn't mind the cost so much if the meal was exceptional but it wasn't. I've been to many other restaurants which far better quality food and half the price. After giving this place a second try, I don't recommend it. read more

Unfortunately, our experience today was one that I hope no one else has to have. It has been almost 4 hours since we ate here and both my husband and I are still feeling queasy from our food. I just made dinner and neither of us feel like eating. I should start off by saying that our server was very nice and the staff in general were super friendly. I ordered the seafood special and my husband ordered the rack of lamb. The lamb plate was luke warm but the bone was burning hot. This is a tell tale sign that the food was microwaved! His rissoto was overcooked and the best way to describe his plate was "mush." He couldn't eat more than a bite. The seafood special had at least one rotten clam. I took a bite of this clam when I was almost done with the dish and spit the whole thing out in a napkin. The bad flavor burst in my mouth and ruined the whole meal. I haven't been able to shake the taste all day. I pray I don't get sick. read more

We have been patrons for at least 18 years. Wow, tonight was so major disappointing. One waitress/bartender for the entire bar area. The pasta which we requested "al dente" came out like babyfood,. We had a fulfilling and positive experience at Luciano's. Every single person on the staff seemed friendly and genuinely interested in making sure that each guest was satisfied. The menu is what one would expect from a decent Italian restaurant. A good variety of appetizers, fresh bread with oil, crisp side salads and healthy portions for the entrees, all of which were cooked well. The large dining room is sectioned into several rooms, giving the place a comforting homelike feel. The servers, while personable, could be a shade quicker at times, but were generally attentive and invested in providing a positive experience. Prices were moderate. A dinner for two with cocktails, appetizers and entrees can easily get past the $100 point before tip. But again, portions are good and the atmosphere is comfortable. The location is right on Route 1 in Wrentham, less than a mile from Interstate 495. If you arrive via Route 1 North, it can be a challenge to make the left into the parking lot across the two lanes coming in the other direction. Coming via Route 1 South means that you have to be careful as you approach the entrance to the parking lot as it's not quite where you might expect it; and taking the left out of the lot to the northbound side is not an easy task during most hours. read more

Well I have to say it wasn't too bad but it wasn't the greatest either. The staff seemed rushed to do their thing. Walked us back to the "70"ish painted rooms that try to resemble Italy. Haven't seen this type of painting in Italy except in old run down places. The front and side rooms had more appealing atmosphere resembling that of restaurants in Italy today. As for the meal the Oysters on the half shell were wonderful. My Filet was cooked slightly over medium rare and my wife's meal was where it went wrong. Ordered the Filet with lobster and asparagus was very disappointing. Filet was over cooked and cold as well as the lobster and asparagus. The manager removed my wife's meal and because we couldn't stay we didn't send the meal back. I would have preferred an invitation back to change my mind about the food. But I still don't think I would return due to the staff abrupt service attitude. read more

I could talk all day about Luciano's in Wrentham Rt 1. I love it so much there, that we had our small wedding reception there. We could have had it at Lake Pearl, but we wanted to keep it small. Every visit there has been no less than perfect. I'm fussy too. From the moment one walks into the door, throughout dinner and drinks, it is heaven. The atmosphere is kind and comfortable. First off, thank you for serving bread! Most restaraunts have stopped serving bread since covid, so the foccacia & the extra crusty bread were greatly appreciated. We got the lobster ravioli for an app & it melted in my mouth. There was so much lobster meat in that ravioli, I only wish there were more than 3 (but they were large). My husband got cotoletta di parmesean (chicken parm) & I got pollo all francaise & it was delicious. The angel hair pasts was perfect. The portion was generous & I had to take half home. I got my dessert to go Tiramisu, it was the biggest piece of cake, the lady fingers were soaked in the rum.....I had to stop eating it because it was so good but it was a huge portion. We had received a gift certificate and finally traveled down to use it! Lovely outside with bright flowers and plenty of parking gives no clue as to the size and number of rooms inside. There are function rooms for any and all occasions. Warmly greeted, we were seated right away for a busy Sunday lunch. Delish crusty bread with butter and seasoned oil arrived. And then a wonderful soft bruchetta for the table. Our server was friendly, professional and super efficient. There were so many wonderful lunch specials to choose from and then there's the menu! All our meals were generous portions enough to bring home and enjoy again. Chicken Marsala, Swordfish steak special, chicken and eggplant parmesan. Outstanding! Food was out of this world delicious!! Authentic Italian cooking & excellent service! Meatballs were so good! Perfect! Lobster ravioli was fabulous! Husband had bone in veal chop Parmesan and it was the tastiest thing I have ever I had. Melted in your mouth delicious. Kids had chicken Parm and really enjoyed it. The focaccia bread they serve is so good! Don't know why I don't come here more often. Like a little slice of Italy without having to make the trip to the North End. Our server John was top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant!! The only negative I could come up with would be there is a very unpleasant smell in the main dining room. ( sort of a old cabin musty smell maybe from water damage ??) I hope they take care of soon. It would be my only deterrent from going again. Very disappointed in our visit last night. We waited way too long for our food and it came out cold and tasteless. Management came over and was very rude and could care less that we disliked our food. We had a rare steak and a small bowl of pasta. We barely touched the food. Bill came and they charged us for the steak and pasta even though we didn't eat. Not sure why the manager was so rude to us we didn't do anything wrong. My last few visits could be summarized best by the analogy of having 2 left legs, one half of the experience (the food) makes the case for some of the best Italian food in the region but the other half (the service) completely ruined our latest night there. Our server was totally apathetic, rushing through every encounter with us without thinking twice about. We ordered a couple appetizers (the meatballs and the stuffed zucchini flowers which were phenomenal) sat the same time as our entrees. Without exaggerating, the time from the receiving our appetizers to our entree was about an hour. During this time not only did our server not come by to check in, the one time we went out of our way to flag him down he blamed it on the kitchen, mind you the restaurant was maybe half full and offered no apologies. He returned only to pick up our empty plates without asking how everything was and then vanished again for another 15 minutes. We only saw him 15 minutes later when we went to the host stand to alert them of how long it had been (in fairness the managers in front made it known they cared about making it right and have always been top notch). All in all the meal for 3 people went well over 2 hours and not by choice. For a restaurant that I frequent and hold to a high standard, it's a shame to be let down these last couple times. I will always recommend the food and will give another try eventually but in the meantime I'll be looking for places that actually want our business! read more

Overpriced mediocre Italian food. We ordered Bolognese and pollo ala francese. Both were ridiculously bad. I'm surprised they got good ratings. For starters the bolognese sauce was just dry and pasta literally disintegrated in my mouth without even having to chew. Tasted like chalk. The chicken has zero seasonings and all I could taste was lemon. Pasta was waaaay over cooked and soggy. 2 stars because the bread was decent and it was the best part of the meal. read more

Craig our waiter was great with food questions, recommendations & really interested in making us feel welcomed with a wonderful personality. Great Italian restaurant. I see that in some cases, the reviewers here were looking for something more like California Pizza Kitchen, all windows and light wood. But see, this place is actual Italian. The food was great and very fresh. Super wine list, super service. The arabbiata pasta came with large shrimp and scallops at a lower price than I expected-- scallops are expensive! The beef carpaccio was perfect; so was the saltimbocca. Go. There are a few clues that shatter the image of "Fine Italian Cuisine" - The photos of sports figures and other minor celebrities on the wall. And there's a photo of somebody's kid at Disneyworld. WTF? Does this tell you, OH BOY you're in for a delicious dinner? - The place seats at least 200 people. How much attention do you think your food is getting? - Check out the cars in the parking lot. Shiny Oldsmoblies, Buicks, Caddys, Chryslers. Have you ever seen those cars in the parking lot of a good restaurant? Nope. - SMARMY owner. He's creepy. Gives you the whole regal act, the attitude, the up-sell sales pitch for specials. He embodies everything about the place. There is no shortage of good Italian restaurants that don't need to boast. These guys have the "Royal Stick of Pride" shoved way, WAY, up their ass. The food and wine are satisfactory. 3 stars, but everything else drags it down. Did I mention the bar sucks? read more

Parking was impossible. All four handicapped spaces were taken and two were occupied by vehicles without handicapped plates or placards. This was frustrating. We did find one sole parking space as someone was pulling out, but it was very narrow. All of the rear parking lot was roped off, so that wasn't even an option. You are almost forced to use valet parking. We arrived at 6:55 pm for a 7 pm dinner reservation. We waited 10-15 min to be seated. The tables were squeezed too close together and some were in the middle of heavy foot traffic areas, like where we were seated, so one has to be very careful when getting up from their table so that you don't hit other patrons walking by or a waiter with a tray full of food. The waiter actually had an attitude--he was impatient for us to move out of his way, but we were not responsible for the seating arrangements. It was very awkward. Likewise, waitstaff also kept bumping into us as they passed by or were working on adjacent tables. They are oblivious because they're in such a rush and, therefore, don't offer an apology either. One waitperson delivering bread to the table, just threw it down in passing, without even looking at us. The overcrowding and rush really takes away from the elegance of the restaurant. The staff seems less personable, and you feel like you are being put through the mill. The bread was good. The focaccia-style bread with tomatoes was good, but if you don't eat it right away, while it is hot, it becomes hard. The rustic-style Italian bread is also good. The olive oil and spices for dipping was good, but too spicy for me. The salads were good--fresh and cold. I recommend getting dressing on the side as it was a little excessive. Our dinners were good, but not great. I would rate them a 7 out of 10, and expected better from this establishment. We had tiramisu for dessert and it was very good. The serving size was generous. The chocolate sauce added good flavor. There was a also subtle orange flavor which was unexpected but delicious. It definitely contained coffee and a liqueur, so it lived up to it's tradition. Our waiter, Kevin, was just okay. He has a bit of an attitude. He isn't exactly service-minded. He doesn't kill himself to wait on you. He never asked us how our dinners were. He seemed annoyed when we asked for coffee after our meal. He never offered us refills either. On a few occasions, he was brusque and answered us without even making eye contact. This felt disrespectful. I think he is capable of much more, he just chooses not to extend himself, like he is bored. Accordingly, he got a tip in which we didn't over-extend ourselves. The restrooms needed attention. In the ladies room, there was toilet paper and paper towels on the floor, and the counters were covered with water. My companion reported the same issues with the men's room. On a busy night, the restrooms should be checked more frequently. Luciano, himself, was out tonight, but someone should be overseeing the operations more closely, especially on a Saturday night. On a positive note, the coatroom lady was a sweetheart. There was no one available at the double set of exterior doors, either upon arrival or when departing, to assist patrons with entering and exiting. This restaurant seems to be going downhill. They are sacrificing service for profit (i.e. squeezing in more tables, reducing waiter to table ratio, more impersonal waitstaff, and rushing patrons). We came out of our way (45 min) to have an upscale dinner, but found that it isn't what this restaurant offers anymore. We won't be back anytime soon, that's for sure. read more
