Very cutesy walk in coffee shop. I got an iced vanilla latte which was okay and got the job done. I accompanied my coffee with an almond croissant but it wasn't toasted and Im not sure if that was an option since it was super busy. Overall just a meh experience. read more

The coffee and tea choices are great and the barista is extremely helpful! It is small and takeout is recommended, but there are a few tables inside and out to choose from. Syrup pumps are recommended if you like some sweetness. It isn't overbearing. read more

Perfect coffee! We are staying near Grand Central, and I've been finding coffee between our hotel and the station, but tried another way today. This was the best coffee! Americano with cream- Perfect tiny shop with inside and outside seating, perfect coffee, friendly quick people, cozy ambiance, and delicious chocolate croissant. I went back for a plain black cup of coffee to test that - perfect! Don't neglect the written food menu-I saw it too late but want to go back to try the brioche French toast. read more

Discovered this very small cafe on a trip to NYC. Made my wife's "dry" cappuccino perfect the first time. Homemade granola with yogurt. Matcha latte tops. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Good value. A few chairs and tables outside and very tight inside. I hope they get business in bad weather! read more

Writing while at the cafe which I rarely do, but Lucid Cafe is really great! I went for an iced lavender latte to nurse my hangover and a blueberry scone. I nearly ordered the apple turnover before the scone turned my head, and the woman working let me know that that's her favorite pastry there and they bake them every morning!! She was so sweet and as I sat for a while she shared that sweetness with every customer, even the dumb ones. The space is tiny, luckily I got a seat with an outlet while I wait for my train at grand central. The outdoor seating is cute for a warm day. This is definitely not a place you would want to do any wfh stuff from. It is one of few 'real' cafes in this area, otherwise you're stuck with starbucks. The latte was yummy, though I wish they did iced cappuccinos (it is very common for cafes not to, so I can't knock them). If I ever miss my target train and need to spend another hour, you can definitely find me here. read more

The most excellent cappuccino and coffee we had while visiting NYC. The service was efficient without being rude, cafe is teeny weeny and easy to miss with construction scaffolding outside. Fourth day in NYC, 4th day at this cafe. The coffee is really really good. I'm a gnarly coffee snob from the Pacific Northwest and struggle to find a decent cappuccino on the road. We stayed for a week about a half block away and came in every morning for the daily caffeine fix. This tiny cafe is super cute and welcoming. Very cute independent coffee shop in Manhattan, the service was very friendly and the taste of the drink is just right. I've been passing by for the past few days and it gives me the local vibes. A good place to get a quick drink in the go to start your mornin. They also sell kids masks and adult masks here just incase you forgot to bring yours. Very small place so only a few people can be in the shop, but there is also 3 tables out door with 2 seats each table if you want to quickly sit and eat your food. Not suitable to sit for larger crowds. read more

During a visit to NY, I was lucky enough to be very close to Lucid Café so I stopped by one morning for coffee and juice. It's a small space but very clean and has a few seating for those not taking away. I ordered a chai and the Vermont maple latte. I was surprised they asked how sweet I wanted my chai and asked for it to not be too sweet. They also had all the different milk options - I know some smaller cafes don't always offer that. I also got an orange juice and the ham and cheese sandwich. The coffees were delicious and the orange juice was fresh! The ham sandwich had a yuzu jam and was so yummy. I think this is family owned and the service was really excellent. If you're nearby or want good quality coffee, visit Lucid! read more

You had me at "Counter Culture coffee"-- which, btw, they proudly serve. Adorable af establishment. No indoor seating but who cares? Everything is homemade and delicious. Staff were super sweet to, which, OMG, in Midtown, who even? But yeah, I really liked them and will be going back. No pix from me but all the pix already posted on this here Yelp are still on point. Space is SUPER small (hence the no indoor seating) but adorbs. Like, I wanted to hug it. I wanted to hug the café. Weird? Maybe. But it's cute when I do it. Go. Caffeinate. This was such a cute Korean cafe right next to the hotel we were staying at. It's a really small and cozy space that just wraps you in warmth as soon as you enter. The chocolate croissant, as well as the egg and bacon breakfast croissant were DELICIOUS. There was nothing that could beat their hot lavender latte as well. My fiancé and I sat at the small bar alongside the wall of the shop, since there isn't many seating options available (just one small table indoors and a couple tables outside). The service was also great, as we got our food and drinks so fast! I highly recommend this cafe if you're ever in the area! read more

Very small shop but was big enough to accommodate a few people inside. The service was fast and they were very friendly. The organic coffee had a great taste and we will definitely go back when we are nearby. It was starting to get pretty busy when I left as there were people on the sidewalk waiting to get in. This cafe is so cute & cozy . They have a wonderful selection of pastries and vegan muffins too , and I recommend their chai with their homemade almond milk! Its absolutely Devine . Everyone that works their is an absolute gem and super sweet . The woman who works in the morning makes super cute designs in my chai and I just adore it . Makes so happy . This latte was my third trip to this shop. The first was an excellent cup of coffee. The second was a perfect lavender almond milk latte with honey. The third was this iced latte. I couldn't taste any espresso- just milk - and so I asked if this is how they usually make it - they said yes - so I said it needed more espresso- they charged me another 1.75, $9 total, so will know for next time - iced lattes can be like this - but this was not for me - and everything else was great. Wonderful coffee! I don't leave a lot of reviews but when I find a great coffee shop in the city I have to. This place is tiny. I believe maybe three or four people could fit inside, but totally worth the visit. Stop by try their scones, if they aren't fresh baked, they fooled me because they are the best I've ever had! Definitely cleaned my pallet from our Chinese lunch and it helped cool me down from the New York heat. We got water, but there was no ice offered, so I asked one of the workers and he was kind enough to get me some. We are through that dessert like, if we didn't finish it fast, it was going to melt. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! My friends loved it and it was their favorite but I absolutely hated it, but it was good to try nonetheless. The matcha was nothing special and the bear Oreo was actually quite plain and I feel like is not worth it. The base layer of the shaved ice was almost tasteless - didn't really taste like vanilla or milk, and it was just sprinkled with Oreo. I would rather just buy my own pack of Oreos and eat that. They have outdoor seating which was nice.
