Everything a pub should be a more. Best selection on tap I've seen in a long time. Bartender/waitress was AWESOME.

Food was really good but we got here at 10pm and were told the dinner was closed?? WTF?? When I asked if I could eat it on the elevated single chairs they denied me as well! I was nice, but I feel I was treated well especially after tipping well! How are you gonna close your dinner an hour before you close? Bad for business! That's how you loose customers guys! You have 6 employees who can easily clean the tables and wipe them! Come on now! You don't get that type or service at Dennys, IHOP, or any other professional dinner nor restaurants. At least you could have recommended to eat it outside on your concrete hard chairs and tables! At least you have Apple Pay but come on don't be lazy and clean the tables till closing time, that's what we pay for! Atmosphere could be more inviting! I went to Lucky Baldwin's for the third time. I don't go there regularly as I'm kind of a homebody. However, this place is pretty chill. I don't know if it gets busy, but it wasn't busy last time. We got a beer of course. We also got a couple pasties. The beef and the curry pasties. They were delicious. The pastry dough was soft and tasted homemade. Then we had the fish and chips. They were good, but the fish was a bit over cooked and dry. I would give that another chance. Of course they have a great beer selection. The customer service is also great. I recommend this place if you're in the area looking for some good brewskies. read more

I've been wanting to go to a pub to watch a Chelsea game in Pasadena for a while. So I went to this pub with my wife to watch the Chelsea vs Arsenal game. I ordered the English breakfast, and she ordered waffles with potatoes, eggs, and mimosas. The service from the waitress and bartender was fantastic, and the food was great. Also, the English-style pub had a wonderful ambiance, which my wife and I loved. I will definitely come here to watch more European soccer games. read more

I had the most bizarre experience at Lucky Baldwin's today. I stopped by today to get a pour of the much-sought after Pliny the Younger. In order to get a pour, they sold blue raffle tickets, which allowed you to get a pour of a Russian River beer, a pour of Pliny the Younger, and a entry into a merchandise raffle. The Pliny keg must have been almost tapped because as I was waiting in line, the bartender came out and asked if anyone had a blue ticket. I responded I did, and he said that I could step out-of-line and he would get me a pour. I was grateful and appreciative that he offered this. He directed me to the side bar where he told me to wait and asked me to write my name on the raffle ticket. As I was writing my name on the raffle ticket, I had a different server come to up to me and started berating me for standing there. When I tried to explain that I was directed to stand there and write my name on the ticket, she essentially started accusing me of giving her an attitude. Confused as to what to do as I couldn't find the bartender who had originally directed me there, I again saw the server and when I again tried to explain what had happened she began yelling at me, loudly staying that I "could get the f*** out of [there)!" I have been to Lucky Baldwin's numerous times for pre-game or post-game beers with my softball team or for some fish and chips on a Friday night with my wife, and I have never had anything but a pleasant experience. Today, however, was one of the most embarrassing and truly bizarre experiences I have ever had at a bar or restaurant. I totally understand how hectic, stressful, and challenging today must have been for the staff at Lucky Baldwin's, but that server should understand that basic manners like "excuse me" go a long way. The bar tender ( African american gentleman ) was beyond nice and calm and great with all the guests, but the other ( stocky with long hair and a scruffy beard) was incredibly rude and even though the place was crowded he still needs to address people with respect, he can't be walking around screaming at people who are there to have a good time. If you can't handle pressure then you probably shouldn't work during a busy shift. Or the least u can do after screaming at guests is go back and apologize. read more

I've been here a few times and do enjoy their English Breakfast in the morning. Having said that, I've noticed more and more just how disorganized their staff are and how terrible their customer service can be. My last time here was on a Sunday for lunch. We were seated inside and were not attended to for more than 30 minutes until I got out of my seat to find a server and then waited another 10 minutes for her to come back. The food took a long time to come and was just ok. I think besides the English breakfast there's not much good options to eat there. Overall maybe sit outside for better service? Lucky Baldwin's Pub on Raymond Ave/Colorado Bl in Pasadena is a British themed sports pub. Had to meet family and friends visiting and they were all in Pasadena, and decided on this place. Lucky to snag street parking half a block away, but right next to the pub is a public parking structure. The restaurant sports pub had indoor and outdoor seating. As with most sports pubs, the walls had multiple tv monitors to watch sports. On the walls and decor throughout are all things British, English and/or about England... British flag and many memorabilia relating to England. The menu offered traditional British food, as well as bar pub food, burgers, wings, Irish themed flair nachos, and most importantly a large variety of beer on tap, wine and well drinks. While there, 70's classic rock music was playing along with all the tv screens mostly on American football, games, stats, and talk. I was with mostly guys, who view sports religiously, all sports talk and they like bulky pub food. That's what they like and it was fun. Most of the diners were outside a covered seating area, also with tv monitors and music. The staff and manager were cordial, attentive and accommodating, we sat where we wanted and I had my furbabe Fendi, and she was welcomed. Then they came back and said it could be done but would be $2 a sample! We ordered fish and chips and asked for ranch. Princeton, understand your customer base! I am a loyal customer. Been going here for years and started while working at university there. The place has fond memories. Although I don't live in Pasadena, when I'm around, I go there and take all of my friends. My last visit was not a pleasant one solely due to the prices of the food. I understand that in these times, inflation causes businesses to increase prices. These prices I witnessed were unreasonable. (My opinion) Example: pasty = $12. One. We had stopped in for lunch while strolling beautiful Pasadena, CA. Our server, Rachel, was extremely helpful and provided exceptional service and the outdoor patio area was perfect on that gorgeous day. Rachel recommended the Victory Brewing Company Juice Boost beer, which was exactly the right beer for lunch. On the other hand, the food was not so great. I had ordered the Fish & Chip lunch which looked amazing when when it arrived. The steak fries were perfection, the coleslaw and tarter sauce were delicious, but the fish was absolutely flavorless. My friend, his wife, and I were in Pasadena yesterday. Before going to Pasadena my friend said he liked steak and kidney pie. I had chicken curry with rice, my friend had the steak, Guinness, and mushroom pie, and his wife had the cottage pie. Everyone really liked what they ordered and my friend and his wife sampled a bit of each other's lunch to confirm how good everything was. We sat outside. If you sit outside be careful to find someplace to sit where Sun won't end up shining on you as it moves through the sky. We didn't sit inside where there were many enthusiastic soccer (football) fans. Stopped by for a cold pint after an afternoon of food binging. Just from the walk alone to the bar, we were ready for a nice cold pint. The bar is cute British style pub that offer foods and clearly plenty of drinks. The layout is pretty cool as well. Main bar is toward the back where hi top tables are available and the bar area as well. Plenty of tv inside for all you sports enthusiasts. As well as a large flat screen outside where the patio seating is. The patio seating is covered by a wall of plants. Enough seating area. I've notice that some patrons had their pets on hand so I'm assuming pets are welcome. We didn't look at the food menu as we just ate but from the looks of what the other tables ordered. I'm gonna have to come back for a try. The pies and sausage roll looked amazing. Portions looked quite big. Pros: Great selections on beer. Food looked amazing. Pets allowed at the patio area.
