We dined in on a weeknight. The restaurant was busy but we were seated promptly. We got a variety of buns, the fried French toast, chicken fried rice, wonton soup, dumplings and Bok choy. Everything was piping hot and exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every dish we ordered. The service was also exceptional. Though the restaurant is unassuming from the exterior we were thrilled with everything and would definitely return.

This is my absolute favorite dim sum spot in Jacksonville! I know the owner makes everything from scratch, and you can totally taste the difference. They always have a unique weekend menu, and I always look forward to it. My favorite is Pork Shumai and this is one of the bests for sure. All of them are so delicious and I highly recommend trying them all! The atmosphere is very modern, and the music they play is always jazz. If you have not been here, you are definitely missing out!

We popped in spontaneously on a Friday night with no reservations. Parking was easy in the free parking lot of the strip mall. We had a 10 minute wait as the restaurant was busy with patrons. The menu was extensive and the food came out, hot and tasty within minutes. They had all the standard Dim Sum fare. We tried one of the shrimp noodle dishes and the noodles were light and airy on the tongue. Their sweet tea/ lemonade drinks were a refreshing non alcoholic treat. The restaurant was basically themed and noise was not overwhelming. It's a nice spot for a casual dinner or a date.

First time trying out this hidden gem! I came in on Friday afternoon, not too busy. We were seated right away and after looking through the menu, we decided to go with the fried tofu, wonton soup, eggplant, and Taro buns for dessert, my kids loved it, so soft and sweet. The waitress was attentive and showed patience with my kids so that was nice. The food is good. I feel like it was made in house, which is great, but it did take a while to get my dishes out. I do recommend it since it's nearby and it's good to support local business.

First of all let me say that I love dim sum! And Lucky Cat gets it right every single time. Tonight we ordered a little of everything as always and it all came out amazing. The salt and pepper shrimp never stood a chance, very flavorful and fried perfectly. The chicken stir fry was full of chicken and was amazing especially with the sweet soy sauce and crunchys from the salt and pepper shrimp. We also had the buffalo chicken dumplings, spicy cucumbers, shrimp and chive dumplings and the ribs.. nothing was a miss! The mango mochi is always a hit at our table and it exceeds in presentation and flavor every time!

The food was really good and flavorful. The service was great and the ambiance was nice. We got to pick all our food from a sheet and the food came out quick and tasted fresh. Will definitely come back again!

For work, I've been sent to Jacksonville to train and tried this location out as a treat for Halloween. I went with my coworker from Phoenix so we could share various items. Love being able to get dim sum with conversation with friends, family, or coworkers. We were seated quickly and the restaurant had a few tables occupied, which would be expected for Halloween night as likely most were trick or treating. The location is quaint, but cozy in a down-to-earth setting. We ordered a few items, and all met the mark or even had us remarking it was the best we've ever had. The shrimp fried rice was a major standout for me, and absolutely delicious! The taro lucky cat bun is not just adorable, but scrumptious. It was a perfect way to end the meal, and highly recommend if you stop in though they have other darling designs like panda, teddy bear, or piggy that you can try that have a different flavor. Thank you Vernee D. for recommending I try as always appreciate fellow Yelper feedback, and you always have great reviews in Arizona! Definitely agree if you are in Jacksonville that you need to try this place out! Plan to return before I leave, and if work sends me back to train this will be on my must dine list.

Lucky Cat is the BEST dim sum restaurant in Jacksonville!!! And probably better than most dim sum places in major cities like Dallas or Las Vegas in my opinion It's a quaint little restaurant with lots of lucky cat decorations and bamboo baskets on the walls as a unique decor. The ingredients are fresh and dishes are not overly greasy like a lot of other places. My favorite dish is the turnip cake and pork shumai. The turnip cake is simple, delicious, and not oily. Perfect with the chili oil and soy sauce! The pork shumai is bursting with umami flavors because it's incorporated with shrimp and mushrooms. Yum. The eggplant with shrimp, pork stir fry noodles, and shrimp dumplings were tasty as well. I have recommended this place to many friends and no one has been disappointed! It's a must try whether you live in Jacksonville or visiting.

You know, when I visited this spot a few weeks back, I didn't think it was gonna change my life. But - I want to move to Florida because of this place! It seems very unassuming, but assume all things! This place is NOT only delicious, but HEAVENLY delicious. I highly recommend and I swear, if the universe allows me to live near here, I would be here every day. Something about the food is just absolute comfort in every bite. The service was great and there's a good amount of seating inside. If you are in Jacksonville - YOU MUST EAT HERE!

Lucky Cat was great! The restaurant itself was very cozy and service was quick. I loved the variety of items on their menu and the cute twist the put on some of the food options. My friend and I got the OG chili pork wontons, cheeseburger shumai, and pork bao buns. I loved the chili oil on the wontons and the shumai was great! Will be back again.

Best dim sum in Jax hand down. I would go every week honestly it never gets old and everything on the menu is delicious.

    Lou B.

A really cute and cozy option for dim sum. Service is always fast and staff are always quick and friendly, but I think there are tastier dim sum spots in town. That being said, there a lot of options and many of them are very creative and adorable. I dislike how the paper menu that you write on and turn in does not match the laminated menus that they provide. It would be a little easier to order if they matched the menus.

    David L.

Not your regular dim sum place, and more like a Western Asian fusion. Ambiance was very hole in the wall type of place. Service was great. That being said, the dumpling sizes are large and they all tasted good. The green dumplings and stuffed tofu were definitely our favorites!

We ordered cucumber salad in spicy sauce and soup dumplings. We've never had either dish anywhere. Service was very friendly but we thought at first it was slow for what we ordered. The answer to that was, there was a party ahead of us that ordered quite a few dishes, but we were served before them, SO the answer became apparent that the kitchen was slammed and we were fine with that! The cucumber dish was fantastic! The soup dumplings looked and tasted fresh and delicious. The one downer was only one dumpling had soup, but we poured the spicy sauce on them and that was great. Looking forward to trying new dishes I've never had before.

We got two styles of dumplings: The chicken and cabbage, and the shrimp and chive flavors. We enjoyed the chicken and cabbage one the most. We also got one of our goto's: Turnip Cakes. These were also good, but very soft, almost fall apart. We also got some soup dumplings. I was wondering why they didn't give us any soup spoons, which is customary. Now, I may know why: There was no soup in them. They were soupless dumplings. I also ordered some spare ribs. I thought I ordered some blackbean sauce ones, but maybe I either mis-read the menu or they brought the wrong ones, because these were more like black pepper ribs. Regardless, they were decent, and tender. Even the connective tissue around the bones wasn't too tough. One dish I wouldn't get again was the Rice noodles with bbq pork. It was very bland. They don't have a large menu of non-dim-sum items. The service was decent, and the restaurant isn't very large.

The beef rice noodle rolls had no flavor at all and it was ground beef for the filling instead of a compacted beef roll like a mini meatloaf that most dim sum places have. I always order a lot of dishes because I like what I like and I also know I'll have leftovers. I sent back the pan fried taro pudding because it was so bland and it didn't have many of the main ingredients in it. If it were there, it was so skimpy I didn't find any. (The Chinese sausage and dried shrimp) The pain fries soy sauce noodles were overcooked. It's suppose to be pan fried and it was not. Also very skimpy on the black mushrooms. Not very flavorful. The Steamed shrimp dumplings were mediocre. The skin was gummy and fell apart. The shrimp filling wasn't too bad. The shrimp with rice pasta was probably the best dish there. But it was still lacking in flavor. The steamed ribs with black bean sauce was very bland. The ribs were tough and tasteless. The braised chicken feet were over cooked. The texture was horrible like eating mush. The flavors were also off. The egg tarts looked good but the flavors again were off. Borderline going bad. It had that slight aftertaste of sourness. The shell was also flavorless. The BBQ pork buns were also disappointing. The ratio of bread to filling was off. Very small amount. But I was a little happy this happened because the filling didn't taste good at all. The hot tea was also disappointing. I always order jasmine tea when having dim sum. They used a low quality tea bag instead of real loose jasmine tea leaves which also includes the flowers. No fragrance at all of Jasmine tea. Needless to say, I will not be going back on my next visit. It was very expensive for what they give you. Especially since the food was so bad. I gave it two stars because the service was very good and the view was decent. I am Chinese... born in Hong Kong. So I know what dim sum should taste like. I wish I had seen the review that had a photo of the salt and pepper shrimp before I went because I would not have gone. Their salt and pepper shrimp is not authentic and I would have not gone and saved myself $80 for my lunch.

They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.

We started with the edamame, with the sea salt and truffle oil, which is always delicious. The service over the evening was very slow, and we spent a lot of time waiting on food. We sat in our favorite spot at the bar window so our server also appeared the be working behind the bar and was busy making drinks. We love sake and usually get a bottle of the Noble Arrow. We asked for a recommendation and the server recommended the Soul of the Sensei, which is $107 for the bottle. We were celebrating our 24th anniversary so we went for it. He said it was on the dry side, but we found it very unexpectedly sweet, almost like a moskato wine. It wasn't surprising when we read the back of the label and saw the flavor profile was all the way on the fruity side, with notes of Muscat grape. We definitely made a mistake by not tasting it first, so we ended up asking for a bag to take it home and ordered 2 glasses of the Noble Arrow. It was a disappointing start. Next we ordered the yellowtail carpaccio, which was very good, although the size of the fish pieces overall seemed smaller than usual. Everything we ordered over the evening was undeniably tasty, but small. We got the Usuzukuri salmon and when they brought it, they had the tuna carpaccio as well. The person who brought it said it was a gift. Later, we were charged $2 on the bill for the "gift." It's not much, but it's just that giving us a gift and then putting a charge on the bill for it was very strange. Overall, I still love the food at O-Ku, but this was not the best experience. We had gone there previously for our anniversary and they made it feel special. This time there wasn't any kind of recognition besides possibly the "gift" we had to pay extra for. And the service was so slow that we ended up drinking the bottle of sake we didn't like rather than waiting for another drink order. Every place will have its off nights, and this unfortunately seemed to be one of them. I would still recommend going there, because even though the portions are tiny and expensive, the taste is delicious.
