Probably one of the worst manicures I've gotten in a long time. I came in without an appointment on a Monday afternoon for a dip manicure. Despite there being two customers getting pedicures, the salon was dead silent when I walked in, which was immediately off putting. Some low background music would do wonders. My technician cut my nails short without asking me first, and criticized how brittle they were under my dip (I get manicures back to back, yes my nails are going to be brittle underneath). While the manicure looked fine at first, the dip started to chip within 3 days. Now, 7 days later, 6 of my nails have chipped and I've had to file several of them into weird shapes because of how broken they were. Super weird, won't be back. read more

I've been getting my nails done for forty years...yes forty. I am extremely particular. I am what you would consider "a difficult client". I have tissue paper thin nails & deep inset curves to the sides of my nails which cause all technicians to nick up the sides of my fingers with the dremel and/or file. To make matters worse I have zero pain tolerance. I am used to having my nails done being a negative experience because of the pain. Previous technicians typically spend half their time distracted, chatting with other techs, answering phones or whatever and I pay the price in chopped up fingers. NOT THIS TIME! I went to this salon for the first time a week ago. Based on the reviews I booked an appointment with Lo Ann the owner and am so very glad I did! The salon itself is: 1) extremely clean 2) very tidy 3) product is incredibly well stocked 4) well lit & well equipped 5) furnishings are new or newer 6) technologically current - electronic sign in, very large tv which played relaxing scenic video & relaxing music during my entire visit. (None of that annoying yammering TV playing for the staff to watch their favorite soap.) Lo Ann herself is wonderful!! The most important thing I can tell you about her is that she truly listened to my concerns/needs. She genuinely cared about meeting my expectations. She FOCUSED (I CANT EMPHASIZE THAT ENOUGH!) AND DIDNT NIC UP MY FINGERS ONCE!!! MIRACLE OF MIRACLES! Lo Ann is genuine, professional, caring, focused, detail oriented & talented. I don't know what more you could hope for. Lastly, here are some miscellaneous details you might want before your first visit. Parking is stress free because there is ample parking in the parking lot. The salon lot is also directly adjacent to a gas station lot (Circle K) in case you are driving a long distance. The police department station is right across the street so you feel safe and relaxed from the first visit. Her salon is located in a strip mall right at the stop light so it is very easy to get in and out of. There is a community staple food spot if you need to get a bite to eat before or after. George's Gyros has salads, pastas, shrimp, sandwiches and more. You know George's food is epic because you'll regularly see police picking up their lunch/dinner. Very few things in life are perfect but when these many details come together successfully you can be sure its no accident. read more

And she was really nice but she took FOREVER to do a mani/pedi for me. I got a gel mani and she put so many layers of gel on that two of my nails are already peeling. I got them done on Monday and it's Thursday. Unacceptable especially because I paid 90 freaking dollars!!! Waste of money and my time! On top of that the place is not as clean as it should be and the spa chairs are really old and dirty. This place is pretty new and by far the best mani and pedi I have had. I like a very natural, thin, dipped manicure and I couldn't be happier. My nails don't look bulky and fake at all. I've gone 3 times, only have gotten my nails done once, the first time the lady broke my nail and they looked good for the most part, my pointer finger nail literally broke off two days later. I go back in and the other lady fixes it (she's better of the two) and you can definitely tell the difference. It's thinner and not bumpy looking. There were 3 people when I did my first walk in. I went back last week for a walk in and she says she's busy and she can't take me right not and to come back tomorrow, there were almost 10 people inside so no big deal. I just went in and there was one customer and she told me she was busy and I could come back Wednesday because she was the only one who did dip. Didn't realize a good nail place was hard to find in Scottsdale. Absolutely love this nail salon! Lo Anne is a fabulous nail tech that truly believes in doing all the details to ensure your nails look perfect. Her appointments run longer than your normal time, so ensure you eat before and block off time in your day. She doesn't rush work and ensures quality over anything!! My nails last twice as long when I have her do them VS the salons in north Scottsdale. She is worth the 25 minute drive for me. I do full sets with gel and then a gel pedicure ($105) once monthly and it will last me up to four weeks on average. Just make sure you wear gloves when doing the dishes and they will stay on forever! She can do anything you would imagine on your nails. Best part, she makes you feel so comfortable. It's like visiting your best girlfriend. She takes more care of her clients than I have ever seen and our conversations always are the best. My first visit to Lucky Dip Nails was yesterday. I went for a Deluxe Pedicure ($45). I chose this salon because it is close to my house. Walking in it felt comfortable, clean, and bright. There is a sofa and 2 chairs in the corner waiting area. A took a seat and was given a basket of nail polish samples to choose from. This is a much easier way to choose than looking at a bunch of bottles of polish on a shelf! There were tons of colors. I'm certain you will fine one you like. I was directed to a massage pedicure chair and was given a cold bottle of water. They line the tub with a plastic bag for hygiene. The owner did my treatment. She is very nice and friendly, easy to talk to. Along with soaking and filing, the pedicure I picked had scrub, paraffin wax, lotions, oils and hot stone massage. I got a gel pedicure and it was so nice because I normally don't like people touching my feet and also I haven't had a pedicure in a long time so my feet were very calloused. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or bad for the state of my feet lol. After my pedicure, they look so much better!! I have never been so disrespected at any business like this before. The fan is so small to dry your nails that I messed up 2 nails trying to dry them. The man that did my nails began shouting at me. My toe nails have definitely never looked like that before and it took several months for them to return to normal.
