Between Lucky and Safeway, I will give the edge to Safeway. This location is convenient and right off the 880 exit. Not much else to add.

Whats better than having Luckys across the street from you!? They have always been clean. And i have never had bad customer service there. Most of the time i go there for balloons or flowers. I LOVE their premade floral arrangements esp with all the colors!! OVERALL: I have going there since its been built in 1999 and i will still be going there! read more

1/28/15: I have to say that I really like this location, but I feel it's a bit more expensive compared to Safeway. I do LOVE they accept Apple pay. ----- I've been here a few times since moving here on 4/13/15. It's a really nice store. Sure, other places have better prices but I'd rather Drive to this store and have good customer service. I find them to be a lot better than Safeway in Union City. This store layout is odd to me and it is always more expensive here than Safeway... at least for the items I consistently purchase. I don't shop here regularly and I was reminded why with this trip. Certain things I purchased were well over $1 more at Lucky than Safeway... Nothing really attracts me to this store, only the fact that its the closest grocery store to my house. So I'll come in for one or two things, but NEVER for a full-blown grocery shopping trip. Parking is totally fine, easy to get in and out of that shopping center. read more

I been coming to this place when it was lucky then Albertson then lucky again. I think this place is organize and well stock. They have some good sell once in while. I used to come here all the time to buy food and snack for school but I realize that some other place tends to have cheaper price, I started shopping there. They have nice opening hours so it would be convenient for me to shop. I almost always come here to buy snack before heading to the movie theater. Way cheaper to buy here then buying at the movie. This place has almost everything you need. This place is my go to place to get some snack for the movie. Overall, a clean place with well stock inventory of food and snack. They have a lucky card but I don't have it but I can still get the deal which is something that I liked. read more

Whoever does the produce ordering here needs to seriously up there game. Every time I come here to shop they're completely out of some of the most basic produce like bananas, spinach, broccoli, cucumbers, and more. I kid you not, every time I shop there they don't have something I need. Even the insane Walmart down the street doesn't run out of bananas. The store is pretty much fine otherwise and has some friendly employees, but not having super basic produce really sucks when you've already planned out your meals for the week, and having to go to two different stores to go shopping really bites. I've started doing most of my shopping at another store that always has what I need, which is unfortunate since I live accross the street. =/ EDIT: I should say they have a good selection of meat substitutes in the produce department, so this store is a pretty good win for vegetarians in that respect. read more

Usually clean, well kept, with good staff. It's just a shame that it's in crappy Union Landing which is also home to Century 25. This can sometimes make parking a bitch on Fridays or Saturday nights. This store never has a sufficient amount of cashiers. Today was one cashier with 7 people in line... many who could have used self checkout because of small purchases. I had two bottles of wine, which means I cannot go to self checkout, which was completely empty. When a line did open up, the cashier took all of the heavy laden customers, and I still was waiting... so I left. No big deal, I can go anywhere for small purchases in the future. I only go here in an emergency, like when I know a kid will meltdown if I make more than one stop... Albertson's has mediocre selections of foodstuffs, the quality is so-so, the "self-check" is usually out of order and the store is just not very clean. I feel bad for the clerks who always say "did you find what you were looking for?" because I pretty much never do but they can't help me. maybe the store will be better when management changes. clerks aren't saying when the change will happen, and I've been waiting abour six months so far. read more

Walked in to pickup a cake from their bakery department for a birthday. The cake I wanted had a "Happy Thanksgiving" cake decoration on it surronded by the frosting. Ann Peterson the store manager and her assistant quickly came to my rescue and swapped out the holiday sign for a "Happy birthday" one plus two little ballons to take up the rest of the space and all without disrupting the frosting! 5 star customer service. read more

This is the closest supermarket to my house and I only visit it when I need something super quick (emergency) and I will only go here with CASH... please do not use your debit or CC here, twice according to my bank my account has been compromised here... luckily I bank with Schwab and they have the best security service in the world. read more

Perfect place to buy snacks at and sneak into the movie theater. Though parking here is usually ridiculous. If it's quick, just park in the 15 min zone. As for groceries, I rather shop at Marina or Safeway. The only thing I go to this Lucky for is redbox or snacks for the movies... read more

I really, really dread going here, I ONLY go here if I really have to. This is the closest grocery store to my house, so on occasion I have to pick up last minute stuff from this store. The produce section is terrible, bad selection and the fruits and veggies are sometimes on the verge of rotten or just plain inedible. I don't think they check too see what needs to be thrown away and replaced. Nothing looked fresh at all! The meat section was VERY questionable. They did not have any meat that did not have an expiration date that was in a couple days. It was clear they do not restock often. So, I did not buy any meat that day since all the meat looked like it was sitting there for a really long time. The people that work here are friendly, but the grocery store itself is just nasty and not well kept. read more

Came in here on Christmas eve and I wasn't aware of store hours. However, these employees had terrible attitudes and were very rude about closing at 7pm. They were on the intercom saying, 'Round them up to the front.' I couldn't believe this, I was appalled at the stores behavior! It was a guy walking around asking customers did they need something else and when we go to check out, the cashier had an attitude! I understand the store was closed but, you have to provide better customer service, hell don't get upset because your working on Christmas Eve. Working a customer service job, your going to work overtime regardless! Wont be back! read more

I've been going to this lucky what feels like forever. The other day i was in line waiting to purchase my items. Once I got to the front the cashier, Cody, was extremely nice and had such an outgoing positive attitude. He went above and beyond with his customer service. I was quite amazed because I've never received such good customer service from a super market. I hope Lucky knows what an asset he is to the company. read more

Very understocked store. Out of Best Foods Mayo, Out of Chapstick, We don't sell sliced corned beef. Had to visit there twice. Not one check stand open either time, only self check out. Very rude employees especially the ones working the self check out. System did not have my particular produce selection, and the first words out of clerks mouth were " It's because you didn't pay attention". I did pay attention, the option just wasn't there. This grocery store is horrible. The only reason anyone shops here is because the next closest store of this kind in Union Landing is Walmart. The staff all congregate up front and pretty much just stand around doing nothing. They don't even collect the hand baskets that are all just piling up near the registers... read more

Love this supermarket, I basically grew up always coming to this place and I always dreaded it because my mother would walk up and down every aisle and it took us forever to leave! Lol! But now I still shop there whether I'm picking up a snack or a prescription. All the pharmacists are amazing, sweet, and passionate women who love their job and are damn good at what they do. But some of the supermarkets staff could come off as rude to me. Sometimes I'll come in and I feel completely ignored. Some of the staff are just not as friendly, but there are those couple of team members who try their best and genuinely care. read more

I've made multiple effort to go this Lucky Supermarket after work on Friday afternoons hoping to purchase the produce that are sale... THEY NEVER HAVE THEIR SALE ITEM STOCKED.... For example....pinapples were on sale for $1.69 each last weekend and there were not ONE pineapple in sight at the store. Now tell me, how can you advertise sale items but not carry them? First of all they need better job cleaning the Flor! Today me and my husband shop and I didn't see that there is a banana in the flor! God knows how long the banana is there in the flor. So I slip and hurt my both knew and shoulder! It happen around 12:30 to 1:30. And me and my husband decided to continue shopping even I'm in pain because I don't feel good after that happen we just pick some of the groceries that we need and we go to counter! And it have a big line so we decide to go in self service counter and my husband proceed rings the item and we ask for help to the lady in charge in that area because we don't know how to ring the tomatoes. Lady just said just scan it and never even go and show how it works while she is only standing and not do anything! We shop almost 1year in luckys but today will be the last time we will shop there some people who works there is rude even you just ask a question where you find something. This is the first time I used WIC at this specific location and will be my last. Today I was told that my WIC folder signature did not match the signature on the check. I have never been questioned about my signature during transactions as I am the main person on WIC and the only person who uses it. The Cashier had asked which signature it was as if I wrote something completely different. Signatures are not exactly the same every time, they are only similar. If that's the case I'd have a stamp with my signature to match it every single time which is considered forgery. He was completely rude which was so uncalled for. If he wanted to see ID to verify it's me he could have asked. Incompetent, ignorant staff member you have. read more

I come here regularly with the older gentleman I take care of. Today he forgot his wallet at the checkout . The clerks were unbelievably nice about it. They offered to put our cart in the cooler while we ran home to get the wallet. When we arrived back we were able to pay quickly and move on with our day. I truly appreciate the kind employees at this Lucky . They have always been very nice and helpful. read more

This lucky supermarket has a great deli area and their made to order sandwiches are pretty good.

Okay I tend to visit this Lucky early in the morning. When I am there I am greeted by every person who works there that I pass in the isles. They are super friendly and helpful. The store is clean, and they always have everything I am looking for. I love their flower selection as well. The deli counter is great, sometimes the lady can be a little grouchy, but she is probably just tired, but they are still helpful. read more

Pretty good supermarket with a good amount of grocery items. Limited staff which sucks when you need to know where something is, and you're impatient. Love a lot of the clerks at this Lucky Store, especially Caroline. She is always so friendly and helpful. Everyone in produce is likewise helpful and friendly. This store has a great greeting card and floral dept.. In addition, their selection of specialty foods (Asian, Mexican, Kosher, creole, etc) is large and impressive. They keep adding more and more organic products and produce, which is appreciated. read more

I shop this lucky supermarket at Union City Landing about half the time, the store is never overly crowded, though there's never more than a few checkers available. The store is pretty set up, and fairly well-stocked, they've never had anything that was out of stock that I can recall. What makes this a pretty good Lucky is the CSAA they have right inside the store see you can take care of your DMV to renew your insurance and then go grocery shopping. They also have a Bank of America ATM there, which used to be a branch, which is cool. Watch out for the folks asking for donations out front but other than that I think it's a decent location, right on par with the Hayward Jackson location and the Fremont Mowry location. read more

We were in town visiting some friends for a birthday party and we came here after to pick up some snacks to bring to their house after. I'm not a huge fan of Lucky's. I think they are kind of expensive and don't have that great of deals or a big selection of stuff. You have to look for their deals to find something good or want to go to their store for something specific. The workers seem friendly and the store is clean. There is plenty of parking out front but it can get busy in there because there are a ton of stores and restaurants in the same plaza. There just isn't anything specia about Lucky's. read more
