The staff were really great and knowledgeable about the variety of coffee they offer and shared some of their personal favorites, which i always appreciate. I will definitely need to order a bag of the Salem Drip Trials, right after my own little witchy heart! Lucky's was such a staple when I went to the Claremont Colleges, and they do have really great quality coffees and teas with a wonderful selection of specialty drinks. It is a great place to work, with outlets and music that isn't too loud, and the baristas are super friendly! Visited at the start of May 2025 and was disappointed to learn that they source their pastries from a different place now and no longer carry the chive cream cheese croissants with everything bagel seasoning and pistachio croissants . I got a chocolate chip cookie ($3.45), which was pretty yummy, and shared an MVP (matcha vanilla pistachio) with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also tried Sable, which is a spring menu item (black sesame latte), but found myself hoping that the black sesame flavor packed more of a punch. Overall, I love Lucky's, but it is quite pricy, especially the $1 upcharge on oat milk. Probably much more worth it if you get a drink and spend an afternoon studying there. read more

A separate tasting room and roasting area are visible from the main entrance. Coffee, teas, pastries, sweet treats and merch available. A unique variety of coffee and teas to choose from. Our drinks were delicious and perfectly made. We attended their magic show night with Greg Van Holsbeck and Mark Gibson which was incredible! AMBIANCE - Directly across from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, this location had an ample amount of parking. Inside, you'll find lots of seating and it extends towards the side where you get a nice view of the roasting area. FOOD - I was recommended the Horchata Latte, which isn't shown on the menu anymore but you can still order it. It was rich, creamy, with a subtle taste of horchata. I'd definitely be going back! It has been a while since I visited this plaza and I did not know there was a change...and for the better, WAY better. The space is large, modern, clean, full of bright light...more importantly everything in the store is of high quality, kombucha, pastries, coffee. I found this roaster through the wholesale baking company, Bakers Kneaded, which makes their pastries for them. I first tried these pastries at Blue Bottle, Lido, Newport Beach. The almond croissant is the best I have ever tasted. I called the bakery and they let me know Lucky Roasters also carries their pastries, hence my visit. I ordered an almond croissant and a decaf cortado. The decaf beans are sugarwashed versus chemically processed to decaffinate. The croissant was fantastic, and the espresso coffee had a nice lingering flavor. The milk foam was not as smooth as I prefer but the coffee was really good. The roasting equipment is visible from the shop, and the have an additional seating area with large windows near the fully enclosed roasting room, they were roasting beans during my visit. Another great coffee shop in Claremont! The staff are super sweet & the inside is clean. I ordered an Iced Rabbit Hole (quad espresso with mocha) and it was delicious! My birthday is coming up & the staff drew a cute little drawing on my cup- I couldn't help but smile each time I drank out of it! I decided to study inside for a couple hours. There are around about 8-ish tables and wifi is provided. I really enjoyed the atmosphere too! I usually wear headphones when I study but their playlist was great- I didn't feel the need to put them on! I'll definitely be back & I can't wait to try out more of their drinks! This location is conveniently located right next to some of my other favorite stops--Magnolia Wine Bar and Priceless Pets Rescue. Coffee, wine, kitty cats, and doggies! That's my personal heaven! Definitely adore the specialty drinks selection. I ordered Blush-- a rose vanilla latte. Blush has a creamy and slightly earthy taste, and the after taste was rosy and aromatic. Not as floral as I expected but it gives a good balance. So as soon as they opened I rushed to their seasonal menu. There it was, I was looking at my first buzz! Orange cream delight was up first and this came with house made vanilla syrup and organic orange syrup that blended nice and soft like an oil massage for the tongue. My next seasonal drink I ordered was grandmas candle and this came with house made lavender syrup and strawberry with a nice splash of topo chico. You're probably asking what exactly is topo chico? It's the name of a sparkling mineral water that they use. It was a brave and bold move to do that but it worked very well and my tastebuds were content. Lucky's Coffee Roasters opened a second location in Claremont where the Starbucks by Yoga Unit used to be prior to the pandemic. Unfortunately I find their location in Upland to be preferable in many many ways. Covid Safety - Face mask enforced inside. Coffee to go. Plenty of outdoor seating. Indoor seating per county restrictions. To their credit the distanced between of all the tables are well spaced out. I had a large iced Horchata Latte ($5). At the time of my visit, they do not offer any savory food snack items. Just very limited pastries and for some random reason some cereal. I wanted a snack and to support local businesses so I ordered a Brownie ($4) and a Snickerdoodle Cookie ($2.50). Looking back at my receipt now I am pretty annoyed than brownie was such a rip off because I took a bite and threw it away. Bleh!! I have nothing nice to say about that brownie. The snickerdoodle was much better by comparison. On the bright side, the coffee is still good. I enjoyed the horchata latte but I thought it was small for a large. I intentionally put my hand in by the cup to give a scaling metric. I especially hate those lids. Go save turtles but those lids take more carbon emission to make than the traditional lids. The nail in the coffin for me is definitely their tables and chairs. I hope this was cheap furniture or even free furniture given to the owner, but I wonder if they tried sitting down before they subject the customer to such torture. It was SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I even took a photo of the table so my audience can get a visual of my pain. The table is built with all these unnecessary column so that your legs cannot stretch. I have bruises on my legs since every time I move I would bump into these things. WHY?!?! WHO DESIGNED THIS TABLE?!?! ughhh.... And I'm short too. A taller person would probably be even more uncomfortable. To make it worse, you constantly hear airplanes taking off and landing. I forgot the cable airport was nearby until I came here. I was trying to get some work done but I was so uncomfortable and annoyed, I decided to continue my work elsewhere. Would I come back? Definitely not to stay and sit at these chairs... Their coffee is good but there are so many good coffee shops in the area. Probably not. As a fan of their first location, I am pretty disappointed in this location. read more

Lucky's new location in Claremont is a cute little place with outdoor seating in a large courtyard-type area with foliage around and potted plants making it feel kind of like a garden to me. I especially loved the stone fountain filled with flowers. There was plenty of parking, mind you, but I was there 25 min after opening and nobody else was around on this cold rainy morning. From my view at my parking space facing the shop, I used stairs on the left hand side leading up to the front but I did see that both sides had a walkway since there are still more businesses to the right of them in this little plaza. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to take photos of the inside of the shop since I was definitely in a hurry to grab my coffee and get to work, but next time's a charm since Lucky's in upland has been my go-to since I first tried it at the beginning of this month and have been completely obsessed since then getting it as much as I can every week. The Claremont location is actually closer to my work and I end up driving just down the street to La Verne to get to work so it makes it a little more convenient. Inside is fairly spacious and I just love the open vibes especially with the windows and sun shining through. I've only been inside this one time to get my drink but I can't wait to come back when I have a little more time and just look around the whole place and stand and wait for my order rather than calling my order in and picking up super quickly and having to bolt right away. As usual, I got April Kisses (favorite drink in the world now if you're into that mix of espresso, mocha, strawberry syrup and coconut syrup) with an extra shot plus another one for a fellow coworker to try the deliciousness of it! I'd say this cafe is similar to any local coffee shop you might encounter. Nothing extraordinary about this establishment. Compared to other coffee shops in the Claremont area, this place is ranked pretty similar to other places. It's a good place to come study, especially considering how close it is to the Claremont Colleges. Quick note: there aren't many outlets to charge your devices, if you plan on staying here for a while to work. I found out this morning that Lucky's opened a new location in Claremont one week ago, so naturally, I had to grab today's coffee from there! I have been frequenting the Upland location, and I am ecstatic to know that they now have this second one at the old site of that one chain I won't name. They told me they have most of the items from Upland's menu, so I had to order the April Kisses: Coconut syrup, in-house strawberry syrup, mocha, espresso, choice of milk... my favorite! I love that they use high quality coffee and ingredients to make all of their drinks. They also make their own syrups, which is a must for me to frequent a coffee shop because I love a good craft latte! So happy that you're in Claremont now, Lucky's! read more
