I had a very delightful time for my first time here! The barista on shift, Chase, was very helpful, patient and insightful when I was looking and browsing through their menus. I let him know what kind of drinks I like and he made some great suggestions. I ultimately went with one of their versions of the pumpkin spice lattes, the Pumpkin Queen, and it was delicious. Since I explained my preference, Chase made sure that it was changed a little to my liking. There is seating inside and out and it's pretty quiet for the most part. Students working away and a few folks just hanging out. The shop owners really thought ahead because the big windows in the lobby are very tinted and the sun was shining right at that spot in the afternoon. So it stays pretty cool! They had a case full of pastries that looked amazing that I need to go back and try! Great service and drinks. Definitely recommend. read more

Quiet and ideal for working. Indoor and outdoor seating. I find their espresso to be some of the best I've tasted in the area. They do offer a limited pastry selection. First visit, macchiato was a 3/5 as the espresso was thin with little body or flavor. The grind was probably a bit too course. The milk was very foamy, not microfoamed. This place is really cute and humble. Parking is easy. It's located right next to a day care and has outdoor seating. I was greeted by some very friendly workers. There is no physical menu (at least not one that I saw) so you would have to scan a QR code to view it. I ordered the matcha love which was a matcha latte with strawberry syrup and fresh strawberries on top. You could really taste both flavors and they're a really good combination! I really liked it and I'm super eager to come back and try more! Overall I highly recommend this place. They have more than just your typical lattes and all drinks are made with care and love! Trendy looking spot next to Pomona Pitzer for people to come chat or do work on their laptops. We tried the lavender matcha and croissants with Nutella. The matcha straight up tastes like lavender, I've never had it before but it was an interesting flavor. I'm going to try the rose matcha one next. My friend suggested I check this place out. So I stopped by recently and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a pour over I believe it was the Ethiopian. I bought a bag of their Colombia Del Agua. The beans were fresh and those tasting notes are really coming through. I am enjoying playing with the ratios. I also noticed they sell the untabbed Hario V60 filter paper which a big plus because most coffee shops in this area don't sell it. That usually leaves me ordering online. Their menu looks promising I look forward to trying out Matcha Love and Cold brew (steeped 12 hours). Plus they sell Cortados and I always try those out when I get a chance. read more

I've been to just about every coffee shop in the area and they all have their pros and cons. The reason I like Lucky's is because it's a really laid back atmosphere and the staff are friendly. I am an espresso drinker and they have that down pretty well, no complaints. I can see how the type of person whose Starbucks order is three pages long may not have a good time, because this place is very straightforward and coffee-centered. Cool spot but they been raising there prices a lot. My order is just a black cold brew Last year: $3.50 Few months ago: 4.50 Now. $5 I now prices are getting up. But just for a straight black coffee that is just made in bulk and poured, don't see it increasing. Starbucks has there black cold brew for $4.45 read more

Thee absolutely best tasting coffee in Upland/Claremont. You cannot go wrong with anything you order from here. Even when I was pregnant, their decaf was delightful. My go to are the Brown Sugar Latte (not on their menu but the baristas are so damn good at making it), Salted Caramel Latte (it's like crack it's so good), and my husband either gets an Americano or the Rabbit Hole (their espresso is top tier). I am not a coffee aficionado per say, but even my snobbish coffee friends swear by Lucky's. Not to mention, it's not loud and obnoxious like some coffee shops and the staff aren't annoyingly fake like lame Starbucks. Probably the most chill coffee shop ever, another reason why I love this place so much. OH! And their seasonal drinks are what's up, the Pumpkin Queen is where it's at! I'm always happy to see a new independent coffee house open up. The location is convenient, with lots of parking, and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. But the choices are very restrictive. You can't get a 16 oz. latte; it's 12 oz. or the highway. No 2% milk; it's whole or skim. And when I asked what flavors they had, they said, "Lots! Honey, lavender, and vanilla . . ." What is it about hipster coffee shops that makes them so anti-choice? I'll try any independent coffee house once, but it'll need to have something special to lure me away from Starbucks. Lucky's is everything that is so good about a small coffee shop with the some of the added convenience of big chain coffee. They make all their syrups in house and the service is so friendly, while they also offer mobile ordering through their website! I go here all the time since I can mobile order and have never been disappointed! I've even placed a mobile order and forgot to specify whether I wanted my drink hot or iced, so they called me to verify so my drink would be right when I got there! The power was out in Claremont so we walked here to get coffee and try it out. My oat milk latte was good, but my boyfriend's cold brew was weak. I asked them to try to remake it, but they said they would have to charge me for a second drink. So I paid for an add shot to try and strengthen it up. That didn't work. They still wouldn't remake him anything, so I asked if they could just top it off with a little more cold brew to dilute the honey. They still said they would charge for a refill! Finally the barista said she would top off the drink as a one time courtesy. I wanted to say "don't worry, we won't be back" but it wasn't worth it. They're just a cheap company that won't get your drink right if you don't like it. Not very wise for a new business in a small town. Should have gone to Starbucks. read more

I'm so excited to do this review. Lucky coffee roasters is finally open on foothill Boulevard and Claremont Boulevard. Super friendly service wonderful patio it will be even nicer when their umbrellas come in to shade from the sun. They also have free Wi-Fi. So this is going to definitely be my new favorite spot to people watch and enjoy. I got the dirty Donna today it is a dirty chai tea iced latte. It was fantastic absolutely loved it!
