Had two drinks while waiting, neither of which were served in a clean glass. As a person in the industry for over 25 years I can be very forgiving. Granted they had just opened after COVID closings and it was Valentine's Day mid-afternoon so I expected a wait. My office ordered lunch in January and they completely lost the order. We thought we'd give them another try today and once again they disappointed us - wrong name on the order (they put the name as Rachel, which is the name of a sandwich that was missing in our order) and there were other missing things so someone had to go back to retrieve them. A solid 4 stars if not 4.5. We came for a very early dinner on a Sunday when most of the restaurant was empty. By the time we left, all tables were full. There was a delay in getting served as the waitstaff was not aware that we were seated (poor/no communication from the hostess) but once we were recognized, service was fast and friendly. I ordered a steak salad with the steak medium rare. It was perfect and the accompanying bread was seasoned and warm. Delicious! My husband had a side salad along with his entree (pictured). The wine selection was good and reasonably priced with most by the glass selections in the $6-$8 range. We took a piece of key lime pie to go which was very light and creamy. My only complaint is where the bathroom is hidden- I had to ask for help. A sign would be oh so helpful. It, like the rest of the restaurant was very clean. read more

I called an hour ahead to make a reservation. They don't reservations for two apparently. We got there an hour later and they said there was a 50 minute wait, but you can sit in the bar. Went to sit in the bar at a table in full sight of the bar, in the bar area. Apparently the bar is not the bar. The manager said we had to get up and wait. So the host was ambiguous about what was the bar but they didn't mind embarrassing us. Maybe the food is good. Who knows. The manager is a nimrod. Apparently their mistakes are the customer's fault. I don't see any reason to give them a second chance to be a disappointment. read more

It's a steakhouse but we went with seafood and were delighted. My stuffed grouper was as good as I've eaten. The asparagus side was tender and perfectly prepared. My wife's scallops were equally satisfying. I dropped a star because my Margarita was excessively salty. I had never been to Lucky's, and a couple people mentioned it, but I was not super impressed with the Yelp reviews, so I hesitating on coming. Since they take reservations for parties of 6 or more; we went for it (we were a group of 8). Boy, am I glad I did! Our server was awesome!!! Wish I had his name but since I didn't pick up the tab I didn't get it down. However...this guy was hustling. They were busy for a Sunday night since tomorrow is a holiday for most (MLK). He was constantly checking in to let us know where he was on drinks, apps, dinner. We had the mussels for an app, which I really enjoyed. Their bread is amazing and dipping in that garlicky sauce off the mussels is just a bonus. Our entrees were varied but our entire party was pleased with their food. One steak was a little more rare than ordered but it was rectified quickly. We had one child in the group and the kids portion of chicken fettuccine Alfredo was tasty and extremely large! Carbonara gnocchi was rich, creamy and delicious. I asked for extra spinach to cut the cream. My daughter's sirloin was delicious as well. My husband got a hamburger which was just okay. The service was fantastic. This very young man was very attentive, drinks never empty, and was flexible with modifying our order with little fuss (ie green beans instead of fries). We are very long-standing Gilbert and Blake's clients and were skeptical. Changes to decor are classic and well chosen. Loved our dinner! Called mid-afternoon on Saturday to carry-out Okemos Lucky's Steakhouse baby back ribs and prime rib special, with a big baked sweet potato, blue cheese wedge salad and loaf of their amazing bread. I arrived early to pickup and was able to see several happy groups leaving, most with leftover bags. We inhaled the perfectly cooked and sauced ribs and medium rare prime rib - so tasty! the first time we went the food was good but service was terrible. we went back last night hoping it was just a new person so gave the place another chance. we we're even more disappointed this time. we sat at the bar which was not full. it took 10 minutes to even be acknowledged we were there and we had to say something to finally get a menu and order a drink. my food came out cold, I had to ask for my soup and had to wait again to pay our bill. the people that sat down next to us got up and left due to lack of service. Came for a family gathering of 9 people. Went to the womens bathroom and almost threw up. It smelt like sewer gasses. I reported it nothing happened. We waited a long time for any food. The person that order fish and chips got their meal a good 5-10 minutes after almost everyone except the one that ordered steak medallions who's meal came after everyone was done eating. I ordered asparagus on the side that came cold. I sent it back to get re heated and came back cold. Our waitress was obviously overworked because she didn't have time for our table. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and was completely ignored for the better part of 5 minutes. A couple came in a couple minutes after me and was instantly greeted like I was invisible. When I was finally helped I informed the host that it was just me. They asked me if I had a seating preference and I informed her it didn't matter to me where I sat. First time here and it was outstanding! Inexpensive delicious meals, great wine selection, yummy dirty martini with stuffed blue cheese olives 'made perfectly by Kinzie including ice shards! Horrible management. Floors were SUPER slippery and my mother fell as the hostess walked us to our table. My mother was hurt, no staff in sight helped. The only person who helped was another customer. Once we were all seated, I suggested they put out a sign for the SAFTEY of their customers and to tell the manager we wanted to speak to them. Thirteen minutes passed and the manager didn't come out. The hostess checked on us and we told her again that we wanted to speak to her manager. When the manager came to our table, we told her how disappointed we were that she didn't come and check on someone who was hurt. She blamed her staff saying they didn't know who was hurt. Mind you, THERE WERE ONLY 18 people in the dinning area; had she just looked out, she would have notice my mother wrapping her hand in ice. She also felt the need to inform us that they don't wax their floors. Manager offered NO SOLUTIONS and NO APOLOGY. We had to ask her to bring more ice and that we wanted to file a report. This is the newest Lucky's, and I have been to most of them. These folks are trying hard to establish themselves, so their enthusiasm is high and they have their A-Game on. The best prime rib I've had in a year that I didn't cook myself. I ordered the 24 oz prime rib medium rare, and it came out above room temperature and not overdone. There's a lot of fat there, but that's necessary for good flavor, and the portion made up for that. After I trimmed it, I estimate i received 24 oz of meat anyway. Mallory was our waitress and Kaley was the manager and they both did their best to see we always had what we wanted without hovering. I would have given them 5 stars except it seemed to take awhile to buss tables so more people could be seated. I'm guessing that will improve as the staff gets seasoned. I met a friend here for lunch. Never been to Lucky's before, but my friend has. The server was nice as expected. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. It was good although I was expecting it to be a handheld and not a knife and fork. Everything but the bread was good. By saying the bread was not good, I mean it was tough to cut through with a knife. Ended up scraping the meat and veggies off the bread. Good thing I did not fold the sandwich and attempt to bite in. Absolutely terrible experience. We arrived shortly after 5:00p on a Sunday. The restaurant was not super busy, and we were seated in about 15 minutes. That was the highlight of the evening. After waiting for 15 minutes, I had to go back to the host stand to ask who our server was because we hadn't seen anyone yet. Another 10 minutes goes by and our server finally arrived. She seemed disinterested in waiting on us. She took our drink order and we gave her our food order as well. Over the next 60 minutes, we had to beg for water and drink refills, but no food. When we asked her to check on our food, she disappeared for another 10 minutes only to return to say that one of our items wouldn't be done for another 7 minutes. So, all of our other food was done and sitting under warmers?? We asked to speak to a manager. After 10 more minutes, still no food, and the manager never showed up. So we left money on the table to cover our drinks and salads and we left. From the time we were seated, to the time we left, it was over 90 minutes. If their kitchen was so short staffed, they should have stopped seating people. Everyone around us was experiencing the same long waits. They had plenty of wait staff but clearly not enough in the kitchen. Terrible experience. read more
