Had a great tome last night! Drinks are nice and strong and food was hot and full of flavor. I highly recommend going to Lucky's.

Horrible food wait wasn't long but the actual food was not good. Seasoning on steak ruined it

Went for the first time Friday night, their first official opening weekend. The same weekend as MSU homecoming and a home football game for UM. They were very understaffed!!!! Amazing they'd let that happen on an opening weekend. While we waited for our table ~30 minutes we literally stood at the bar waiting to order a glass of wine or beer the entire time. Never got the attention of either bartender. They only had 2 bartenders working with a full bar and full restaurant. That's right, two. And one of them was extremely confused at how to use the computer. She stood there for what seemed 5-10mins typing, cancelling, tearing receipt paper off, throw away, start over. Got our table & ordered drinks. Proceeded to wait another ~15 mins for one beer one wine. Had the wedge salad and Caesar salad before dinner. Both good, large sizes. Bread is good as others mentioned. Ordered a bottle of wine to go with our dinner. Dinner arrives, no wine. Start eating & ask for wine. Still doesn't arrive. We're told the bar is backed up. After we've eaten about a third of our meal w empty water glasses and no wine, we asked for 2 glasses, cxl bottle. The crazy slow, inadequate service mainly ruined the meal. We had the porterhouse steak - pretty thin and underwhelming. Broccoli with cheese was fine. The chicken Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo on the side was very good!! Definitely recommend that the most. Doubt we will be back for a long time due to the slow service and understaffing. Never even saw a busboy clearing tables, refilling water etc. everyone sitting near us were also constantly waiting long periods for things - drunks, check to go containers. read more

Sat at the table for way too long before wait staff took drink order only to wait even longer for the drinks. We weren't finished with the salads before the entree's arrived. Wait staff didn't ask about deserts or coffee to finish, they just delivered the check. Food was only so-so. I don't know if we just had a bad night there or what. The other party had been there before many times and commented that the service was bad this night. That still doesn't explain the food. read more

Sat at the bar Wednesday night and had the best bartender I have ever had! Jess makes the best cosmo ever!!! Having been a bartender myself for many years, I recognize that this woman knows what she is doing. Food was great! I will say, the manger that night was really unprofessional. She seemed to be worried about socializing more than running her establishment. read more

I have never had a bad meal or experience here. I always take my guest and business associates here for a great meal and experience .

if i could give it negative starts i sure woulddd....first offf i had high expectations of the place..def not worth the price..i threw $30 in trash today.... the filet mignon stucked..iw as looking fwd to it so much..shit faced people..made it soooooooooooooooooooooooo salty like ocean salty??? wth???? also the garlic mashed potatoes were dry as hell....no flavor at all..everythings very very blandd.....salad was dry..not fresh....their house salad esp...the waitress sucked...she had lot of attitude issues....she kept looking at me weird..everytime i asked a question or what not!!!! never goinnnnnnnnnnnnnn back unless i have no other optionsss lol def not gonna recommend it to ne oneeeee....you lost a chance!!!! read more

We happened to drop in and eat here on a Friday night. They were busy, but the service was very good. I wanted to see how good the steaks were (I was skeptical), so I ordered a ribeye. The steak was actually very good - lots of flavor and cooked perfectly medium rare. I was impressed with that. However, my baked potato was undercooked. Did not enjoy that. The steamed spinach was so loaded with raw garlic it was inedible. My husband enjoyed his meal - he had a burger which he said was very good. I wanted to give this place a higher rating because the steak and service were very good, but the sides were not prepared correctly . Wine list was decent for this type of place. read more

We stayed at the Hampton Inn behind this restaurant so we went there for convenience. It was fantastic! We received great service from our waiter Jack, the Maryland Chicken was very tasty and the bread for the table was fresh out of the oven. We were so impressed we went back for lunch the next day. Again, great service and the best salmon salad I have ever had. Two thumbs up. read more

The waitress we had was terrible. She was serving 10 people and trying to get the drink orders. The restaurant was loud and she had hard time hearing the orders from farthest side of the table and never tried to move her feet. She told us she would not serve our table and left. The worst waitress I have ever seen. The replacement was only slightly better. Never saw him the entire time after serving the meals. We have to ask for refilling water. I'm here right now having been served cold ribs twice!! the macaroni was lukewarm with bread crumbs that was not needed ! cold cinnamon apples that I was told usually are warm. I would not recommend this place for ribs or the Mac and cheese or the the cinnamon apples. I came from Chicago to try this restaurant ! so I guess I'll stick to what I know to be great ribs and sides in my own home town. We went to lucky's tonight with friends... There were 6 of us total. We only waited about 30 minutes on a Saturday night for a table.... Not bad. The actual dinner took over 2 hours. Between slow service..... it took almost an hour to get our meals....we ended up getting silverware and take out boxes ourselves....there was hair in my sour cream... We sat many times with empty glasses waiting for someone to bring water around..... It was ridiculous. I'm not blaming our poor server, she was clearly overwhelmed with to many tables. There were 3-4 people at the front desk... Several bus staff wandering around ..... But there seemed to only be a few actual servers. Anyway... By the end of the meal, I was embarrassed to have recommended it to my friends! read more

Bar fail. Too crowded for their abilities and they cannot do even basics. Food average. Price good. But value is poor.

Tonight I hosted a small birthday celebration for husband. We have frequented Lucky's in Clio, Michigan on many occasions and since the Okemos Location had opened I was thrilled to host the celebration at the new location. Imagine my surprise when there were no utensils to butter the bread and the water was nonexistent for over eight minutes. My guests were beginning to wonder why I selected this restaurant. I kept telling of my great experiences with the Clio location. As my husband and I looked around, more tables were being served and we still were waiting for our server to bring utensils and water. Yes, the restaurant was very busy but we had reservations, were seated, assigned a server, and waited... After taking the order and the food was placed, we noticed had been served. The server blamed it on the kitchen staff but the system is electronic, having our seats by the kitchen, we could see the orders on the screen (oops). Manager came as requested, said would be right out, sides scalding hot-meat cold. By now guest is frustrated cancels meal. Lucky's had the opportunity to impress eight new patrons but instead I'm too ashamed to invite friends to dine there. Sidebar: when I asked the server about the wonderful crab legs that I had gushed about but were not on the menu, she said the owner was afraid they would not go over well at the Okemos location. Overall, very disappointed with the service, menu, and management at the Okemos location. read more

Food was awesome and waitstaff were great as well. I had the crab stuffed salmon and it was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Try the Parmesan crusted grouper. Delicious! Nice atmosphere and attentive wait staff! Will be back soon!

My first visit to this new restaurant. I would highly recommend it. Our server was Jennifer and she was great! Hubs had the fish tacos they were ginormous and delicious. I had the chicken Marsala -- we're both taking half of our meals home. Portions are very generous. One of the best parts of the meal was the warm bread loaf they brought to the table! The best ever. Menu is quite varied and extensive and prices very reasonable. My wine was a Cabernet -Shiraz blend and was wonderful; and at $5.99/glass! read more

We've dined at several of the Lucky's locations and have never had a bad meal so we were excited when we came across this one. The first sign that we shouldn't have stopped was the fact that it was dead on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30. We've never been to a Lucky's that hasn't been slammed with people especially during the lunch or dinner hour. Service was extremely poor. Our waiter was in the bar watching sports most of the time when we needed him. A table close to ours finally got up and left after waiting 20 minutes for someone to even greet them and take their drink order. My go to is always the Monterey Chicken. The chicken along with all of the vegetables were burnt to a crisp. It never should have come out of the kitchen looking the way that it did. The bread was either burnt, old or maybe a combination of both. We will continue to frequent our local Lucky's but definitely will not be back to this location. It's too bad because it is an absolutely beautiful restaurant. read more

So, today my wife and I were invited to a birthday party at Lucky's Steak House in Okemos. This was our first time ever going to this restaurant. When we sat down there were several hot loaves of bread on the table with small plates and butter but no utensils. There were 10 of us at the gathering. We sat there for at least 15 minutes before we were given utensils and glasses of water. I think we were there at least 40 minutes before our order was taken. We were there about an hour and a half before the food arrived. Everyone's order came but mine. I asked to speak to the manager and she came out. I told her my issue and she went to check on my order. She told me that I could get a dessert on them. I had ordered prime rib, stuffed shrimp and potatoes au gratin. The prime rib was not hot but everything else was. I feel like if I have to wait for my food another 12 minutes while everyone else is eating, the least that you can do is bring me all hot food, not have to take some of it back to reheat. I refused the second order and was not satisfied with the way the manager handled the problem. You only get one chance to make a first impression. They don't have to worry about me darkening their doorway again. read more

We live in the neighborhood and have tried this place multiple times and you really do have to be lucky to have a good experience at this place. The service is always slow and horrible no matter what time of day. The bread is usually burnt, the wait-staff has to maneuver through very cramped seating and my chair kept getting bumped 2 or 3 times a minute even after I scoot in and pushed the table in. The food was some of the worst steakhouse food I've had, worse than $5 cuts from the local grocery store. Really wanted to enjoy the side of brussel sprouts with bacon but again was disappointed by tiny impossible to bit sprouts that were either over or under cooked with no sign of bacon anywhere. Our daughters grilled chicken kids meal came with a side of giant broccoli and there was no way to substitute it. My beer glass was very lonely and empty most of the meal and we did not get asked or offered dessert. This place has some cheaper prices for a steakhouse but you get what you pay for. If you feel lucky, this is the place for you! read more

This isn't our first time at Lucky's. When they first opened, it was delicious. Over time, the food and service have declined. Sunday (1/5/2020) was the last time we will eat there. We got there at Noon when they opened. There were about 10 other customers in the restaurant, and there were several wait staff, but the service was so slow. 15 minutes for a refill on a non-alcoholic beverage? The bread was raw in the middle and our waitress was less than enthusiastic when we asked for a replacement. By the time our meals came, everything was cold. Cold ribeye, cold prime rib, cold burger, cold french fries. The steaks were covered in grease and that was also cold and had congealed. We were very, very disappointed and told the girl at the front desk who offered to let us talk to a manager who could "give us a really good deal". I said no. I'm not looking for free food. After hearing and reading such good reports about Lucky's, I finally went there today (on a Wednesday about 4:15 pm.). I was very disappointed. Starting off with the potato soup, it was cold. Had the waitress checked on me, I would have sent it back. For an entree I had lake perch and au gratin potatoes. They really like to use garlic here and it's beyond me how they managed to make lightly breaded fish taste like garlic, but they did. All I could taste was garlic and raw flour because the coating wasn't cooked enough and I couldn't taste any other seasoning. The au gratin potatoes were edible. The potatoes weren't cooked in the cheese sauce, they just spoon hot cheese sauce over gray cooked potatoes, but the sauce made them hot enough to tolerate. The service was so-so. Although they weren't busy at the time, it longer than I thought it should to get waited on. But it wasn't too long, and the server was friendly. She did check back after we were served our entrees but I didn't say anything mostly because the person I was with really enjoyed their steak. Surprisingly, the server didn't ask us if we wanted dessert. I was close to getting one and her asking if we wanted any might have nudged me into it. Went there for the first time. I went early before 5 PM as usually after that time there's quite a wait. I would like to say my waitress was wonderful... my steak knife was dirty, as was my wine glass and my bread plate had a gigantic hunk missing out of the edge of it. The bread was wonderful. My French onion soup came and it was very very good-not too salty like many places. I ordered the rib steak with Gorgonzola, a salad with blue cheese, and asparagus. The asparagus and salad were good. I had ordered my steak rare, when I cut it into it it was raw. Unfortunately I had to send it back, and it came back well done. I can eat any steak, but well done. The waitress did offer to get me another one repeatedly, so I did. That one came back well done also. I was done...offered to pay for the wine I drank, the French onion soup, and half the meal since I did eat the salad and the asparagus. The manager came over and I explained my issues to her. She did ask if I would leave my name and number so if I came back again, they would give me a $10 discount on my next meal. Very disappointed.. read more
