I'm not really sure where to start with this place. It was a last-minute selection according to the Google and yelp reviews. We tried to get in downtown and I'm really glad that we didn't and we found this little hidden gem a short distance from all the busy hustle and bustle. It's a really nice restaurant set up in a very romantic and intimate fashion. The staff greeted us was super friendly and seated us right away. I forgot the server's name, but he was awesome. Funny and had quite a selection of the menu memorize. We started off with some good drinks and ended up with the salmon and steak. I have to say my wife and I were pleasantly surprised because the food was amazing. Not only was it tasty. It was very filling and cooked just right. If you want to get away from the hustle, bustle of downtown Napa, come to this place because they will treat you well and feed you well. Last time we were at Fume was many years back at a previous location and remember it fondly. Turns out those fond memories are getting tossed out the door... Our server is grumpy... seem to take offense when we asked for cherries that were supposed to come with a mixed drink, literately knocked some salad into wife's lap when he was peppering her salad (didn't apologize), and turned very curt when I asked to sub onion rings for fries with my burger. Btw, no sub onion rings it only comes as an appetizer so I passed. Calamari was very tender and good flavor but cornmeal got to be too much. Salad fell flat on flavor. Mushroom Swiss burger was properly cooked and tasted good but came out under temp. Sole almandine was pretty darn good. Ambiance is along the neighborhood pizza/diner joint even with a bit of smokiness from the pizza oven. A lot of regulars sitting at bar. Parking lot was tight and junky. Excellent food, stellar service, in a warm ambiance is the perfect way to describe Fumé. It was my first time here, and the vibes were amazing. Jason was our host, and he was very personable and genuine. We started the evening with a Cucumber Gimlet, Fried Calamari and the Brussel Sprouts flatbread. The Cucumber Gimlet was perfectly balanced with the organic sweetness of Cucumber and simple syrup and gin. My new favorite drink for 2026! The Brussel Sprouts flatbread was distinctly delicious, with the Brussels and bacon bits complimenting the Asiago cheese on a crispy flatbread. I highly recommend. The polenta coated Calamari was also delicious. Fried to perfection and the spicy aioli was extremely delicious. For dinner, I opted for the Short Rib Risotto. It was so flavorful, the short rib was so tender it didn't need a knife! And the risotto was cooked perfectly with slices of asparagus and every few bites you get this sweet pop of a balsamic pearl onion that really takes this dish over the top. Had lunch one afternoon recently while in town. We were greeted walking in and seated within the same moment. A multi-level setting inside and open beam ceiling with a covered outside area thats dog friendly. We started with the Calamari appetizer, both tentacles and rings with a spicy aioli dipping sauce. Well prepared and flash fried light golden. I opted for the half salad and half sandwich, and went with the grilled chicken BLT for my sando and a half Caesar for my salad, along with a cup of the Manhattan style clam chowder. The sandwich was very good, free range organic chicken with applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and swiss on a nice acme bakery bun. Napa needs more restaurants like Fume-good food, informal, kid & pet friendly and good prices. We had lunch where there are options for everyone - flatbreads, sandwiches, pastas, salads and entrees. I had the goat cheese and beet salad which was excellent. The salmon was nicely crisp but was slightly overdone. Also at the table was a flatbread, pasta and the salmon entree. We also had a toddler with us-without question they fired the food for her immediately which is a very nice service touch. Service was overall great-personable and prompt. Nice vibe too with both inside and outside seating. If you are tired of pretension (which you run into in Napa from time to time) and just want quality food in a casual family friendly restaurant, Fume is for you. read more

Fume has become one of our go-to spots in Napa when we see a show at Lucky Penny Productions. Great atmosphere, top-notch service, and the food is always excellent. Personal favorites include the short rib risotto and the sol but I'd take a chance on anything on the menu. Reservations are recommended and the parking lot fills up quickly, but there's plenty of street parking on the frontage road. We'll be back again and again. read more

The croutons and fried capers really were great My had the short rib risotto which was yummy. The risotto was perfect and rich. The short so rib tender Steak and fries was so good. The steak well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The fries were yummy especially with the rosemary aioli We were given recommendations for our wines by the chef. Loved our waitress Jamie. My wife and I visited this restaurant while we were on vacation, in Napa Valley, for Thanksgiving. It was extraordinary. This is a must go to Bistro. They have a fantastic menu, a great ambience, and more important than anything their service was impeccable. The drink menu was fantastic. Honestly, I should have written this review earlier, but I forgot to do so. I had the Brussels Sprouts Flatbread. It had herb goat cheese spread, asiago cheese, roasted brussels sprouts, applewood smoked bacon, finished with lemon aioli and fried capers--the "bomb" or "fire" as the youth would say. My wife had the 1/2 sandwich & cup of Soup--grilled chicken BLT and Butternut squash soup. She raved about it for days. I ate the whole flatbread pizza; my wife took half the sandwich home. We did get some specialty drinks that they offered, after all we're in Napa Valley. For drinks I got a Cucumber Gimlet and mt wife got rose. My suggestion is, try one of their specialty drinks, you will not be disappointed. The ambience of this restaurant is incredible it's reminds me of being in a small Italian cafe, people are unbelievably friendly even though we were obviously not from Napa Valley. Most of the people that came in, the owner knew and the staff knew and they greeted them by name. I found it very important to us that even though it's obvious we were outsiders they still treated us with respect and fantastic service. I've been to this place several times and it never disappoints. You must try the lemon ricotta pancakes. Absolutely delicious. I also got eggs and potatoes. Eggs were cooked perfectly. My only complaint was they didn't offer eggs without meat ( I'm a vegetarian) and they didn't discount the meal since there was no meat. The service was impeccable. This is our go to place, in the Napa Valley. It's right off highway 29, just north of Napa. Food has always been great and unlike most restaurants in the valley not expensive. They always have great specials, both in food and drink. It has a nice decor inside but we usually sit outside. They have a nice patio, although with the highway close by there is some road noise but not enough to dissuade us from using the patio. read more

I had the short rib benedict and shared a stack of the lemon ricotta pancakes. Both were perfect and exactly what I had been craving. One of the specials was a lamb hash that my daughter and hubby had. She said the lamb was cooked to perfection; however not well seasoned. While in Napa recently, on a wine tasting day, we had the opportunity to try Fume Bistro. A buddy of mine had recommended it and it was a perfect spot for lunch between wineries. It is north of downtown Napa and has a true neighborhood restaurant look and feel. This establishment offers a full bar, a nice wine list and a variety of beer selections. The menu is surprisingly varied offering many tempting dishes. Our waitstaff, were friendly, helpful and efficient. Prices were extremely competitive. Our lunch, which we shared, consisted of: 1. Macaroni & Cheese - sharp cheddar & American cheese, parmesan & bread crumb gratin 2. Manhattan clam chowder - full of clams 3. Almond Crusted Petrale Sole - with sautéed savoy spinach, mashed potatoes, lemon-caper-butter sauce 4.
