Today was my third day in a row Their regular chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had but I ventured out and tried the one with the bacon jam, and life will never be the same, yes it's that good!! The cheeseburgers are just as insanely good, I got the BLT cheeseburger and have never had more perfectly cooked bacon. The fries are hand cut and seasoned perfectly but best enjoyed fresh as with any French fry, they do their best like not sealing them to steam to death so you can always recrisp them at home but honestly I just eat them on my walk home dipped in garlic Aoili. GET THE AOILI!!!! I dip everything in it including my finger if I eat all my fries. And last but certainly not least the amazing ladies working the front. Saw a friend post on her Instagram pictures of Lucy's and I absolutely needed to eat their signature Spicy Chicken sandwich. Immediately after work on Friday I decided to check out Lucy's, which is completely out of the way for me, but I'll do anything to satisfy my stomach. Walked inside and the menu is up above the cashier. Went with the Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich and an order of cheese fries. This review makes me sad. Based on pictures, the food looks great. The sandwich though? Not great, but not bad. The sandwich is huge, there's two chicken patties. However when you combine them together with the bread and cole slaw that's included on the sandwich, there's simply just not a lot of flavor and taste. The chicken probably wasn't fresh because the slice of cheese that was added on to the sandwich didn't melt or anything. It was just a slice of cheese. When you eat the pieces of chicken without the sandwich, it's actually quite tasty and flavorful but for some reason, when you take a bite of the chicken from the sandwich, there just isn't a lot of flavor. I don't know, pictures make this place look like they have the best chicken sandwich in the world but I left disappointed. The cheese fries were just regular cheese fries. Nothing special to it. The cheese is your typical nacho cheese that you would get from the college dormitories, the fries were pretty basic. Nothing to write home about. Would I come back here again? I live in the South Loop, and this place just didn't do it for me to come back. Lucy's has always been great to have in the neighborhood but today blew me and my family away. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or kinder. It's always a struggle to find a place that's truly family (kid) friendly or honestly even people friendly sometimes but the staff gave some great recommendations for kid friendly options and could not have been more welcoming. On top of that, the food was freaking outstanding. I've been on the hunt for the best burger in Chicago for a while, and even though I've had Lucy's before, they've definitely taken it up like 6 notches. I normally have enjoyed this place in the past, put in an order today for a Buffalo sandwich double, and a spicy chicken sandwich double with sides of fries and pickles. Both sandwiches were ordered as doubles but came as singles. Super disappointing as we had planned to take in the rest for lunch the next day, didn't have time to prep as normal. We are huge fans of the original Juicy Lucy locations in Minneapolis so when we found a local restaurant we were thrilled. We knew we'd found a gem when we saw they served my husband's favorite, Cheerwine. The first three times everything was delicious. We enjoyed the juicy lucy, mac and cheese, and nashville hot chicken sandwich. We were walking advertisements for the place and brought friends. The last and final time the juicy lucy was raw meat with cheese stuffed inside. I took one bite and spit it back out immediately. The chicken sandwich was absolutely massive, and fried to perfection. Tender, juicy, and a good level of heat. In retrospect, we would have skipped the cheese fries, which were unimpressive. The restaurant is not big, and it is not fancy either, but it has what I consider to be one of the best spicy fried chicken sandwiches. I have known this place for a long time, and I pretty much go in here whenever I am near the restaurant, and it is pretty much always busy. It has a nice and cute space with a nice interior full of lovely decorations, including the paintings and the album covers on their walls, which are really pleasing to the eyes. That is also what I liked about this restaurant. It is just a small restaurant, but it is casual and the ambiance inside is really nice, somehow fun and comfortable. I consider their spicy fried chicken sandwich to be one of the best because, first of all, it has a fair and decent price. The amount of chicken in it is huge, and it has the perfect kick of spiciness. The chicken is also not dry. It is juicy, but there was one time when I received a dry one, but thanks to the nice and delicious sauce, it was less dry. The portion of the sandwich is also nice and is reasonable for its price. The place also has good customer service. The people here are nice and friendly. Ordered delivery via GrubHub this weekend. Received the notification that the food went out pretty quickly, but it took over an hour for it to be delivered. When we finally received the order after calling the restaurant, we opened the bag to find we got someone else's order and it was cold. I called and was really disappointed in the response I received. I was told I had to call GrubHub for a refund. No offer to replace the order or offer anything for the inconvenience. I was told to use Uber Eats next time as they have better delivery. Spoiler alert: There won't be a next time. Rather than getting the burgers, fries and shakes (which surely would have melted) we ordered, we received chicken pieces and a chicken sandwich that we ended up reheating in the oven. I had a bacon cheese burger and cheese fry's. They were unbelievably good, seriously: there was part in my mouth through every bite. Every single bite was: in all honesty so delicious that I had to write this review. I will without a doubt be coming back for more. The fry's are perfectly salted and crispy, they taste really fresh too. My girlfriend had the spicy chicken sandwich, I had to steal a bite. It was so amazing, needless to say. I just had a normal burger, added bacon, regular fries and a coke. Cant get anymore American than that. It was really good, the fries stole the show though, they're handcut with the skin in, not too skinny, but not too thick so it gets a nice crispy layer on it and seasoned just right. This was the cleanest and the neatest burger store that I went to. It's my first time here and I found this shop while browsing at yelp. They have good reviews. And the food and their photos were mouthwatering. They have tables to sit outside. As I enter the tables and chairs are full inside so I just sit at the table outside since there are few people sitting outside. After a couple of minutes it came. The burger was savory.
