WOW! Best chicken sandwich we've ever had! My boyfriend and I drove here after spending the day at the planetarium, after a long day of walking around this place was perfect! we ordered fried pickles and two spicy chicken sandwiches. They did not disappoint! based on pictures i was afraid that it would be too oily, but that was not the case at all. the chicken was juicy and the buns were just the right size! we can't wait to go back! They have a food truck parked outside of UChicago Hospital pretty much every day - when I want some high quality fast food for lunch this is the place. Have tried the fried chicken sandwich, which is monstrous in size with super crunchy/juicy chicken. Usually find myself grabbing the porky fries with bacon, smoked pork butt, jalapenos and cheese (cotija I think) which is immensely satisfying. The portions are VERY generous and a more reserved eater might find a way to stretch 2 meals out of what they get....alas not me. There are lots of food truck choices at UChicago but few deliver consistent quality the way they do at Lucy's. read more

This place is great! The exterior color is very nice and the atmosphere inside is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They welcome us with a bright smile and assist us like how another will with an important person. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. The food is pretty good. They have different kinds of burgers to choose from with their menu. The one I like the most is their Juicy Lucy Burger, it has a double patty with melted cheese sandwiched between. I also like their Mac and Cheese; it is so Creamy and Flavorful and If you are or If you have a vegan friend they have this impossible burger where you can make any burger vegetarian with your choice of plant-based patties. It's not often I order food and get what I saw in a photo. My burger was an enormous plethora of bacon and garlic aioli and thick slices of tomato that gave me life. The chicken sandwich was huge, crispy, spicy, and full of flavor. Yep, we got fries and they were cold because we ordered on a Friday at 6:30 and live 20 minutes away in easy traffic. Ordered for the 1st time last night, got a burger, cheese fries, a chicken sandwich and fried pickles. I'm sorry but it was all bad. I couldn't figure out if it was the fries or cheese that tasted funny, the chicken had no taste but was spicy I didn't get how that was possible, the pickles were half cut pickles with breading on them. I hadn't heard of Lucy's, but I recently moved in like 2 blocks down. I thought, "Hmm, maybe I can give it a shot" - wasn't disappointed! Just moved back into Humboldt Park and was passing by and glanced inside. Figured I'd give it a shot because I didn't have lunch and probably one of the better decisions I've made today. Upon walk-in there's a cool traditional American vibe, including artwork and music. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The sandwich is well portioned as I had to take breaks in between meanwhile inhaling fries. Not too spicy but I had a side of kick to help. Their hot-sauce is near perfect and bites back. BEST food I've had in a very long time!! The shaded patio tables are all at least six feet apart; so great for social distancing!! Amazing music taste & overall ambience. Best part was the food! It's far from home but traffic being so easy, we made the trek and got a little bit of everything. The Mac and Cheese was bland and not very cheesy. The fries were ok but nothing special. I've had their chicken sandwich from the food truck before and loved it. I wanted to try another item so ordered the Breakfast Burger. Two patties, cheese, egg, and bacon. Wowza - it's been a couple of months since we went but we have a new burger and fries joint for when we visit Garfield conservatory. I've ordered burgers from here twice, and they're fantastic. Perfectly cooked and juicy. Their porky fries and malts are also decadent and super tasty. I'm looking forward to trying their chicken next time! Perfect place to go when you're ravenous and just craving a really good burger and fries. (or pork sandwich or chicken sandwich) They really do make the best of their simple menu. I usually do carry out and the food is ready so quickly! (Don't do delivery. It ruins the fries and everything ends up soggy) Parking can be a bit scarce in the area, so I would recommend going at off peak hours. One small critique is that the picture showed a sandwich with coleslaw, but the actual sandwich is sans coleslaw. So myself and my husband were looking at places with great reviews, we stumbled upon Lucy's and was easily intrigued. We ordered and waited about 45 minutes. It was no problem because we are about 30-45 mins away. We picked up and decided to eat in the car. Food smelled great but when we got to it the fries were soggy, sandwiches were not even hot or fresh. I asked to not add cheese and coleslaw and both sandwiches had them. I had a great experience. I got the buffalo blue cheese chicken sandwich. It was tasty, super surprised by the sweet buffalo and definitely has a kick to it. But my boyfriend got the regular chicken sandwich and he didn't like it. He said the chicken didn't have any seasoning or flavor. He was disappointed. She made some good recommendations and was very friendly. When I picked up my order the team was even more welcoming. I was glad that I ordered from them before even trying the food.
