I want to love this place, but it's rather hard knowing what it used to be. In my opinion, Grand Haven didn't need yet another restaurant... it needed the unique sandwich shop/deli/market that Lucy's once was. That being said, I'm somewhat indifferent on our recent visit. Our server was friendly and quick. They also offered happy hour with food and drink specials that made the prices a little more enticing. Live music was a nice touch to the atmosphere and the interior is done exceptionally well. My disappointment with our visit lies with the food... wasn't great, wasn't terrible. The Baked Feta Garlic skillet was small for the price ($14, not a happy hour special) and the Hot Honey Brussel Sprouts were really dry. I still gave them 4 stars because everything else was great, it was just the food that was underwhelming. I hope to give them another try in the future and have a completely different experience with the food! read more

Lucy's was the BEST place for a sandwich before the revamp. Wish they wouldn't have done away with their veggie sandwich and some of their other faces. Lucy's is an adorable building just outside of downtown Grand Haven. They have a super cute outdoor dining area, the indoor dinging room is cute and comfortable. Our server was clearly brand new but was bubbly and definitely did the best she could. I ordered the Coast Guard and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a restaurant in a long time. We asked for some sort of dip for our chips, and they brought some homemade hummus out. It was so good, I could have eaten it with a spoon. I was a touch disappointed that the chips were just your basic ruffle chips but the sandwich more than made up for it. read more

This place knocks it out of the park- wow! Enjoying a mini getaway in Grand Haven and found this gem. Stopped in for lunch and were greeted at the window by the nicest lady. She shared everyone's favorites with us and sandwiches that would cater to what we were craving. Just above and beyond service. Once our order was taken, she unlocked the door so we could be seated. It was a relief to see that they took the COVID guidelines seriously. We decided on I believe the Lakeshore (#1) and I think the lighthouse? One had buffalo chicken, was near the end on the menu, and on a pretzel bun. Holy crunch! Perfect pretzel bun that I wish I got but then I loved the lakeshore with turkey and dill havarti just as much. Both breads we so soft and every flavor was hit. The honey mustard on the turkey tied it all so well and the cheese and buffalo chicken on the pretzel bun was a perfect match. The bathrooms were also really clean and again, they took the safety measures seriously which is very appreciated. If we lived here, we would eat here often for sure. read more

Lucy's is a a year-round treasure!!! Live music is a rarity in GH and Lucy's delivers! Locals are sooooo glad to have another great and uniquely different option. The staff is great! Payton, the bartender, is a sweetheart and always willing to make you exactly what you want. Nicole waits tables and is an absolute doll. Ashley, the manager, is a fun, creative and dedicated ball of energy. The food is a big step above typical bar food (not all deep fried) and is very good. I wish they'd reduce their sandwich menu and add some more entrees, though. I know they're planning on expanding their very small kitchen so hoping that helps broaden the options. There is usually a wait on weekend nights, even in the winter!! It's a small place in winter and the pretty outdoor patio rocks in the summer! You really can't go wrong! read more

Oh my goodness! Love what Lucy's did with their remodel! We've been twice and both times the food was amazing. First time I got the pot pie. Flaky pastry shell was delicious. Tonight I had the pepperoni and jalapeño flat bread with hot honey! One of the pet dishes I have had in a very long time. Just a little kick. The decorations for the holidays are so fun! My wife got the Coast Guard Sandwich, it was fine, nothing great but good,. I ordered the Taco Plate. I ordered one of each option , chicken, chorizo, and pork. Big mistake ordering Tacos here. The Pork was super bland, next up was the greasiest and saltiest chorizo I have ever had, cheap frozen ground. To top it off the chicken taco was chicken cubes straight out of a can, the cubed type ( repeat for effect) with a bit of a weak green salsa and onions. Canned chicken for $15 for three tacos ???. Visited Lucy's today for the first time for lunch and was very pleased! The mural on the building itself is such a fun design and a great way to welcome guests. We were greeted by smiling staff as soon as we walked in the door. The interior of Lucy's is such a good vibe. Modern, boho, with plants. The light fixtures are unique. Our waitress Izzy was very kind and attentive. Our food came out fast and it was outstanding! I had the "Mailbag" sandwich and it was EXCELLENT! The sourdough bread had a good crunch to it, the pesto mayo was the best I have ever had. I subbed regular mayo for pesto mayo. Highly recommend that pesto mayo! The sandwich was a very good size served with wave potato chips. The menu has great variety and there are a lot of dishes I would like to try. They have a live music area inside. Awesome spot to grab lunch or dinner (one of the best bloody Mary's I have had in Grand Haven!). The broccoli salad and potato salad are soooo good and large portion enough for two to share! Having read the good reviews from other Yelpers, we decided that we'd get sandwiches for our socially-distanced, outdoor winter pier picnic with friends. The sun was shining and we were all in desperate need of some outdoor time, despite the snow-covered ground in February. Lucy's was the perfect spot to pick up lunch. We called in our order for pick-up (on a Friday) and it was ready, as promised, in 15 minutes. We ordered: The Perfect Ten (Grilled) - oven-roasted chicken, bacon, habanero Jack, BBQ sauce & onions grilled on sourdough finished with Lucy's ranch dressing Pesto Chicken (Grilled) - oven-roasted chicken & provolone grilled on sourdough with pesto mayo, cucumber, lettuce, and tomato. Both sandwiches were delicious, made with very fresh ingredients, the condiments hit the mark, and they felt like a good value at $8.26 each - they were large! Half sandwich options are available ($6.37) for their grilled sandwiches, but I'm not a half sandwich kind of gal. I ended up taking half home to enjoy it later. Note - the grilled sandwiches aren't grilled as other places may do it, with buttered/oiled bread seared on a griddle or panini maker. Rather, these were more toasted, but delicious and actually felt a bit healthier. While there we joined their "club" knowing that we will definitely enjoy future visits to Lucy's Deli. read more

Ok so we spent two hours on the scenic route from South Haven. The Crank family was ready for lunch - and I mean ready. Me and my bro man were fine - living our quiet life of nothingness. But the rest of the Crank family was about to kill us - kill us with the whining. Anyhow, I found this resto on Yelp. My daughter ordered a grilled cheese and concluded it would be horrible before she even saw it. My niece concluded she did not want a sandwich. I asked what she wanted instead but got no response other than the look of "drop dead uncle. " Ok the lunch has arrived. The Cranks are fully revved up. Daughter said the grilled cheese "wasn't." She said it was not ooey gooey. She was right. They really don't have a grille - they have one of those conveyor ovens. So I asked that they butter both sides and put it back through the conveyor. They got the conveyor but forgot the butter this time. My daughter was done - she wants to head back to South Haven just on this experience alone. She gives it a 1 of 5 stars. I had a chicken salad sandwich - good - a 3 or 4 on 5. My brother, niece and wife all like their Sammie's. But they were hungry like a wolf. All in all, I would give this another try.
