Cutest deli I've ever been to. If you've met the owner than you know how bad he wants you to really feel at home. It's a family ran deli and you can really tell and the employees are treated like family. The daughter,Luiza, is the most charismatic person you will ever meet and she will definitely be able to put a smile on your face. Luigi will greet you with a loud and warm "hello my friend!" To really make you feel welcomed. The food is one of my favorite things about the deli. The system they use is very simple. You either order off the menu or create your own sandwich with what ever you like on it. This unpretentious deli tucked away in the back corner of Luigi's convenience store located on corner of Main Street and Castro is a legitimate deli. High quality meat from Saag's, fresh veggies and bread. Nice selection of sliced bread and rolls. I had the ham and cheese special on a dutch crunch roll - delicious! Forget about Subway. This place is amazing! The owner went all out to cater for our wedding and I still get compliments to this day about their pastas and sandwiches being wonderful. When you walk into the store they have tons of bottled drink choices - I don't even know how many different types of root beer you can choose from. It's wonderful! I went to this restaurant when I was on jury duty a few weeks ago. I had a very good sandwich, and a drink reasonably priced and decent food. I stepped into Luigi's actually because I had to call the police. Some rude boys and girls were fishing from behind the "No Trespassing" sign behind Creek Monkey. Luigi gave me a snack and a drink of water while I waited for the police. Ever afterwards he has been my friend. I'm a long time customer of Luigi's. Normally I'd give them 5 stars. I'm a vegetarian. In the past they would allow me to choose a second type of cheese in place of the meat on a sandwich. The servings were generous, and I felt that it was a worthy substitution. Today, however, I marked both cheeses on the order form, indicated that I was a vegetarian, and ordered my sandwich to go. My boyfriend's sandwich was lovely as usual, but my sandwich had a single piece of cheese and fairly skimpy vegetable toppings. It wasn't even as good as Subway, and I don't go there. If I had eaten there I would have taken it back to the counter to complain. Since it was a to-go order I lived with it. But there is no way I should be paying the same amount for a single piece of cheese as a half inch of meat. Also, they usually have several side salad choices. Today, there were only two - both potato salads. Today the rating is only one star. I hope it's better next time or I'll be fiinding a new deli. read more

I've been a fan of this place for a couple years. Sandwiches are good. Never had a "bad" one. Prices are a little high these days. Back a year or two ago you could get whatever you wanted for 5.99 a sandwich. With that being said, I wondered at the time how they didn't go out of business with prices so low. Now I believe it's 7.99 with each additional meat being 2.50 (yikes). If you do decide to go the double meat route however, it is effing packed and will most likely require two visits. Call it an investment. Soda selection is still ridiculously big. One of the best parts about this place. Service is minimal, but honestly it's not a huge part of the way this place is run. Fill out a form, put it in, get your name called when your order is complete. I will continue coming here so long as quality doesn't go down, because they really do make a great sandwich. read more

It was a huge and delicious sandwich, don't recommend it on a first date though as it is messy! Lol. I had it with a canned soda and fruit salad. Next time I would love to try one of the many bottled sodas, that was so cool to look at the walls of soda.
