I have been to Luigi,s a couple of times years ago.Saturday I went for lunch with my father.What a beautiful job they did on this restaurant.We started off with warm homemade bread.My father had the eggplant parm entrée,which came with a side of vegetables.Big portion,he loved it.I ordered stuffed shells which were delicious.Topped off a great lunch with a cappuccino and an espresso.Waitress was a sweetheart.Giulio, the owner is a nice guy.We will definitely be back. read more

Best. Pizza. Ever. In. My. Life. Seriously. I've been going here since I'm 12 or 13, and have NEVER been disappointed. My dad comes to visit and goes here twice a day, he loves it so much. For Italian food Luigi's is probably among the best you can find. Nice selection of dishes. My wife had Lasagna per sempre. Just enough meat to make it light and flavorful. I had the shrimp in garlic oil over linguine. The shrimp were large and juicy. Nice selection of wines. And excellent desserts. Family run for many years. Worth all it's stars. Recommend. I actually went to Connecticut with my best friend and had never been to the East Coast! Well this was the first place we ate,as she bragged about it the whole freaking trip! She said she needed to school me on what Italian food is supposed to taste like(since we Texans have no idea) Well lemme say we know our barbque,and Tex Mex gets no better anywhere else but...... OMGeeee this was hands down the best Italian food my lips have ever had the pleasure of tasting. First off it wasnt fancy schmancy,a nice neighborhood parlor but a little posh in the back. I had a glass of the best Riesling ever as I had a salad called the Scarmoza alla Griglia. Now I like a good salad to cleanse the palette but im a meat and potatoes girl,However this salad defeats the purpose of a salad in the best way possible,its three hefty medallions of delectable smoked mozzarella,a divine proscioutto de parma,and drizzled atop it the lightest fruity olive oil Ive ever had! Never did I think a salad could get that kinda rise outta me,but it was more than a salad,you can taste the quality of the ingredients in every morsel. The fact that they put this kinda love in a salad made me anxious to try more,so I ordered a bowl of the pasta fagioli. Now Im ashamed to say I actually like Olive Gardens version(I know shoot me)lol! I will never be able to go back to Olive Gardens shameful interpretation of this smoky,peppery,salty bowl of liquid orgasm(it was that good). The base is a white bean soup with pancetta,homemade noodles(you can tell the difference) and the best broth Ive ever tasted. At this point im getting stuffed off of what,a soup and salad?? Yes a real authentic Italian meal,with lots of talking,laughing,and phone ringing(its a great pizza place I understand) Even though im unbuttoning my jeans I dive into my Pollo di Sempre marsala or Chicken Marsala. Three words creamy,mushroomy,yumminess oh the chicken is cooked to perfection,the homemade noodles,and the beautiful plump baby bellas are to die for. All I can say is Grazie Nicole! This is the best Italian dinner Ive ever had,and in the two weeks I was here I must have eaten here 5 more times! What a nice surprise to go a a real Italian restaurant where the Chef and Staff really want to make sure you have an amazing dining experience. The homemade pasta is the BEST ive ever had. Perfectly prepared and al dente. My salad was a fresh beautiful mix of greens, fresh veggies. The pasta figioli was made in house and made to perfection. A nice quiet casual atmosphere despite the place being packed, and the service was awesome. The pizza is always top notch. The homemade ravioli was horrible. Very hard edges, a drop of ricotta and a paper thin layer of cheese inside. Most upsetting is they didn't care when I questioned it. It may have been at least a year but I remember thick large ravi's..those days are gone. I have talked this place up for over 15 years as the best pizza in CT. Outstanding service and consistently good food from a husband and wife owned restaurant. We have been going to Luigis for nearly 10 years and moved away not too long ago. Our meals have always been very very good, special requests have been easy, and the staff - in particular my favorite server Michelle - has always been friendly and attentive. I've been eating from here since probably before I could walk. They actually used to call my father up to pick up an "oops" pizza at random. Wonderful people working here and great food. The wife and I did quite a bit of dining in here when we lived down the street. It leaves a bit to be desired (noise and tightness, but it's a small joint). Decided to go for a nice dinner yesterday, and since Tazza was closed (Monday) I thought I would try Luigis! When I first sat down, the waitress poured water into a glass, and as soon as I went to take a sip I noticed there was bright red lipstick on my water glass. (Not mine, but it happens I thought) - although unsanitary, I shook it off. Next came the appetizer which was pretty good, and then my meal. Second bite, I find a black, curly hair. Obviously at this point, I had enough of my meal and told the waitress. She immediately apologized and said she would take it off the bill (as if I would have paid for it - i didn't even get to eat it!). She was very sweet and offered us a dessert or pizza, but to be honest I was beyond disgusted at my experience. No manager ever came over... I will NOT be going back there, I seriously question the cleanliness. read more

Many have talked about to homemade pasta (clearly do not know what homemade pasta tastes like) I was looking forward to that after reading the review so ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Luigis was simply amazing...I am not the type that likes to try new places but I am so glad that we did! We went of a Friday night and had reservations. The staff was friendly and attentive the moment we walked into the restaurant. The bread was delicious and served very quickly as well as the water. We took our servers recommendations about what to order and she was spot on. I had the chicken piccata, which was one of the best I have ever had, my husband had the chicken parm and he said it was fantastic. The wine and desserts were also very good. I was glad my husband and I tried just the two of us, now we know how great it is and that we would feel comfortable bringing our 5 and 6 year old. We can not wait to go back as a family. read more

I have grown up in Fairfield, and have been going to Luigis for decades. It's the most consistently great pizza and food around. I have yet to have anything there that I haven't loved. When my dad comes in from CA, we go there twice a day (lunch and dinner) because it's so good. (kind of embarrassing, but can't be helped...) There is no better pizza anywhere!! Luigi's has my favorite pizza of all time. I've been to Italy, Chicago, New York, and New Haven. For me, Luigi's cheese pizza remains the bar against which all other pizzas are measured. Warm, friendly, and inviting! My family and I love Luigi's! We go for dinner often, give gift certificates as holiday gifts, and have had special occasions here as well. I've had my wedding shower and my son's 1st birthday here. Every time has been more delicious than the next. The food is homemade and amazing. I can't recommend the risotto enough, my husband loves their seafood specials, and we both enjoy the dessert specials! Service has been so kind and no long waits for food! Our party of three was there for lunch the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and again yesterday (a week later) for lunch again, we love the food and the service is excellent! Although it was busy, and there was only one waitress taking care of all the tables, she was totally courteous, she made it a point to come back to our table and check on us to see if all was fine and if we needed anything else. The portions are perfect, and the food delicious, I would definitely recommend Luigi's to all my friends. read more
