I took a few days before I wrote this because I really hate to. Our first order on a Saturday was fantastic, my husband loves their porketta and roast beef sandwiches, this Saturday they went above and beyond. It was so good we went back the following week, please also know this was a take out order. We ordered 8 sandwiches, a pizza, and a bowl of tripe, cost about $90.00. My husband asked for extra gravy and peppers and onions. I was shocked, no peppers and onions, the extra gravy was a small container for 8 sandwiches, and the meat on the sandwiches was a skimpy as could be. also 1piece of bread for the tripe. I really feel ripped-off and will never return. We thought we had found a great place, but I guess not! Also, I was more than willing to pay for the gravy and onions, I was not asking for something for free. Also, who knows why, the put oregano on the pizza? Why? I can't eat oregano, it makes my stomach sick. Garbage it goes, we ordered one the week before, it was great!! I feel really bad about this, and I don't know if it will help anyone, but these days I don't think many people can throw away $90.00. I guess this Testo's is hit or miss, I'm gonna take the miss and not go back. My husband wanted to call and complain but don't see the point, the best thing a customer can do is not go back. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the old Testo's on Madison Ave and had been going there for about 30 years, never had a bad meal ever.... They use to have another location that my husband loved, we would come here when going to college locally and he was so sad when the other location closed. This location is similar if not the same. We like the casualness, but absolutely hate the parking. Such a small restaurant too, best if you make a reservation. I know people come here for pizza, never tried that! They brought my son crayons and a plastic water cup, can't ask for much more! Decent small local spot close to the universities for those special occasions. read more

My co-workers and I decided to go to Testo's for lunch. It was my first time eating out at this restaurant. I ordered Chicken Piccata and my co-workers ordered salad and Eggplant dinners. When I arrived at the restaurant, the restaurant had many family style dinning areas and a bar. The customer service was great but they did mess my order up. The lady stated that the cooks confused my order of Chicken Piccata but she gave us a free extra chicken dinner, which was nice. As I opened my order, the Chicken Piccata was in there but they put sauce on my pasta. I was a little disappointed as they could of just switched my pasta out to plain pasta. The Chicken Piccata was okay but seemed like to be missing some flavor. The sauce was okay on the spaghetti but It could of used a bit more seasoning but the customer service was great. read more

Our dinners were terrible! Chicken meat was gray, meatballs were hard, sauce was bad! The food is not fresh! Service was aweful, short blonde didn't know what planet she was on. Menus offers something for everyone, Pizza is good, Service from waitstaff needs to be redesigned and re-configured, they are not professionally trained to be waitstaff. I felt like I was reliving my visits to Rome and Sorrento. One table held clergy, and at another sat Italian speaking males who were giving us women an appreciative eye, (which may have been just wishful thinking). Time being short we ordered ahead, and the food was ready when we arrived. The chicken piccata was declared delicious, and another said they loved their grilled chicken. My clam pizza was crisp, with a perfectly cooked thin crust and just the right amount of cheese. The group gorgonzola salad came out fresh, with cheese served on the side. This place is a disgrace. Went in for an early dinner at 4pm. Haven't eaten all day and was greeted by the hostess and told "the waitress isn't here yet she should be here in a few mins." Already a bad start. Why sit us in the dining room knowing we'd have terrible service? Waited 15 mins no one showed up. We moved to the bar area where we were told we'd get better service and sat at a table. Got a glass of wine.another 20-30 mins and wine was done and never saw the bartender again to order food. Bartender only cared about the regulars huddled around the bar. Terrible experience. Why have the dining room open and no one to service your customers? I witnessed some elderly people, at least 80 years old, walk out because they never got service. Absolute disgraceful. The hostess couldn't care less. I won't be back. read more

A good small restaurant where the pasta is delicious and the prices even better. The food here is never bad, I normally order the spaghetti and meatballs or the lasagna but the grinders also are delicious. I have not tried the pizza but based on the pasta I would imagine it is good as well. The only reason why I don't rate it a 5 is because the staff kind of runs on two speeds-slow and slower. Fortunately the guy who ended up taking care of us did a great job but he only came over because he saw I was frustrated on the wait to just order a drink. Dined at restaurant over a year ago for a big party for my mom...the waitress was down rite rude...went yesterday..only because my mom had a gift card...I should have known better...ladies inside to greet were miserable...facetious attitude with my sister...We sat at table in bar area...waiter/bar tender terribly rude in every way...I regret walking out but didn't want to upset my mother. Buyer beware, we had a funeral luncheon to my surprise we were charged an extra 4% (almost $60.00) for using a credit card. Credit card charges are usually no more than 2%. Hard to believe people give this place 5 stars. Sat in the bar area because they had a large party in the dining room. Probably should have just left at this point. Food was average at best...definitely was reheated or nuked. Not only was the bar loud, but a bunch of clowns were dropping f bombs and raunchy jokes repeatedly. Bartender seemed to enjoy it. I've drove by this place many times over the last few years as I have a friend who lives right down the street. There's always a ton of cars in the parking lot so I figured I'd give it a try. The interior is small and plain but Im not really someone who cares a lot about that kind of thing. The menu isn't huge but it's decent enough. It's super affordable, which I appreciate because Italian food can be ridiculously priced sometimes. I got the sausage and peppers grinder and the pastine soup. Love it here! Sooo many options with stations for each one. Get takeout or sandwiches from the deli, latte from the barista, custom salad at the African salad bar, eat from the grill or pizzeria. Heard about the food from a few people they said it was good. I live in Stamford and we decided to take a ride on Sunday. We walked in between 6:00 and 6:30 we were just standing in hall way waiting for someone to acknowledge us finally a young girl walked up and said you could sit in the back. She didn't even look up or smile or say hello. I thought it was rude! Then we sit down another young girl came over dropped off a pitcher of water doesn't say hi how are you or anything she says so and so will be with you. Well that women walked in and out of the room several times never even looking at us to say I'll be right with you this went on for about 15 min. We decided it was time to leave. The first time I ordered pizzas, they burned 2 of the 3. The next time I ordered a hot oil with peppers. They did not have the hot peppers and the hot oil was not hot, so it was like a cheese pizza. I went here for the first time a few weeks back with one of my friends because everyone was raving about how good the food was so I finally went. I got a seafood dish with pasta and I have to say the food was excellent. However the service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress came to check up on us twice..first to take our order and lastly to pick up the check. The whole night we had to ask other waiters for drinks and anything else we needed. It was such a shame how the food was good but our particular waitress did feel the need to ask us how our food was if we needed anything or just be generally caring about our experience. read more

Very disappointed sick and tired of picking up my pizza and it's cold I am no longer going back here need to get a new person at the register when it's busy I'm sick of picking up a cold pizza was told it would be ready in 20-25 mins get there was told it wasn't ready then I get my pizza a few mins later take it back home which I only live 5 mins away and it's ice cold ridiculous I'm done not the first time this happen but will be the last don't go there on a Friday or Saturday! read more
