    Carne Asada Fajitas $28 w/tip.

First time. Small place. You order at the register. I had the carne asada fajitas. $28 with tip. They were good.

    The yummiest birria!!

This restaurant is tucked away in a strip of stores at the corner of Val Vista and Elliot Rd. in Gilbert, AZ. The service is friendly, quick, and most importantly the food is delicious. I had some of the best Birria tacos here! I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Finally got to check this place out and really enjoyed it. Food was made fresh and it was delicious. The green cheese enchiladas had great flavor and the beans and fluffy rice were so yummy. My son got the burrito and pretty much ate it all. If I could offer one suggestion it would be to have some chips in salsa available because I feel like that's a great start to prepare you for fantastic Mexican food. Will recommend this place in the future.

Nice score at Lujos Cocina Mexicana. Located in a strip mall where patrons do not know how to park. The restaurant looks small from the outside and that is because it is small on the inside. You order your meal at the counter and it is delivered to your table. Ordered red and green enchiladas on their house special board with el pastor protein. You can also pick chicken or just cheese. Was not sure what to expect, when the dish arrived I could tell it was special. The dish was served with a small skillet of refried beans and a packed Spanish rice. A flower was growing out of my enchiladas the plate border had dollops of creama. Perfectly seasoned and very tasty. No chips and salsa with this dish. I assume those were extra. Great dining experience! Put this one on your list.

The food was great, and I really liked how many vegetarian options there were. It all seemed pretty authentic, and the interior was modern and clean. Service was really slow when I was there, despite there being only one other guest, which is the only reason I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5. I would prefer to have a server come to the table over a counter service/server come to your table mixed style. You ordered at the counter but they brought drinks, food, and silverware to the table, which made it confusing when you needed something.

I haven't tried this place before. It was a pleasant experience. The young lady at the counter was very helpful on answering all our questions. She had a very nice smile as well. My wife ordered the chicken burrito and I had the beef flautas. The food was very well prepared and had great flavor. We ate inside and it was nice and clean. The restrooms were clean as well.

The service was amazing! Everyone is focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere and a calm ambiance ! The food was delicious; it is hard to find good traditional Mexican food ! I'll definitely be back!

First time going and we will hands down be back. The food was amazing! The friendliest staff. Restaurant was quaint and had all the right small touches to elevate their place. From the queso, to the burrito, to the presentation of the food on our plates - not one bad thing to say. You are missing out if you don't give them a try!

My first time trying Lujo's and it was amazing! The customer service was awesome plus they have vegan/vegetarian options for my father. We have tried a lot of Mexican food places in Gilbert and they are the best by far.

Shrimp burro. It was ok....flavorless unless u add their sauce.

Nothing extra. Had a shrimp burro and a chicken burro. You get no sides. Everything is ala carte. Flavorless unless you add their sauce. All the great reviews pulled me in but waste of money. I will stick with Nandos my go to

Let me begin by saying my husband and I just wanted a Mexican food date. Google did us good! We walked into our new favorite place. I got the Los Ponchos Chimi and my husband got the Lujo Burrito. From the friendly and helpful staff to the presentation of the food we were already so impressed. The food MY LORD is so fresh, so delicious, and gorgeous! I'm a big fan of presentation and after the one owners Paula told us the story behind this place, I was sold. Mom and pop diner meets high end restaurant. They took this place over from a diner their parents had and turned it into our new favorite restaurant hands down will be back 10 out of 10. Also, the churro fries are TO DIE FOR.

Amazing service and food. A little pricey but the portions are huge. Steak carne asada was delicious. The place is a classed up strip mall shop. Definitely recommend going.

    Al Pastor Tacos mild heat
    Michelle V.

If you're craving authentic Mexican flavors with a modern, elevated twist--this is the spot. From the moment the plates hit the table, I was blown away by how stunning everything looked. The presentation was true art, but the real magic was in the flavors. The al pastor tacos were perfection--juicy, flavorful, and topped with just the right balance of fresh onions, cilantro, and tangy lime. Every bite had that smoky, savory goodness you want in a taco. The steak red enchiladas were rich and comforting, smothered in a deep, bold sauce that had layers of flavor without being overpowering. Paired with fluffy rice and creamy beans, it was the kind of dish that makes you slow down just to savor it. What I loved most is how everything tasted as good as it looked--fresh ingredients, thoughtful garnishes, and vibrant colors that matched the bold flavors. From the first bite to the last, it was seriously amazing. Beautiful food, incredible taste, and an experience worth repeating. Gilbert is lucky to have Lujos Cocina Mejicana--I'll definitely be back.

So after clocking out I drove there and I was surprised it was right next to Kim Thao's Bakery. I had never seen this place until I got there. Inside, the ambiance gives a very authentic Mexican vibe with a lot of decor. I got the 3 cabeza tacos which was cow meat from the head. I wasn't hesitant in trying because why would I not? The tacos were really flavorsome. The meat combine with the toppings and lime made it seem like it was like any other beef taco. So after eating all 3, I ordered 3 more...After the first visit, I went back a different time to try their burritos. On the other hand, the burritos were very pricey...I ordered a beef tongue burrito which ran me about 20$....but, they are packed heavily. The beef tongue had a consistency like chicken which I like. But sometimes some of the meat had a rubbery texture. Everything I ate there was very delicious as I could taste the quality. I think this spot is authentic as it has great portion sizes however, I do think it can be pricey. Would I come here again? Yes, but just for the tacos. My next visit, I would definitely try the carnitas and cabeza tacos again. Overall, I rate this place a strong 7/10. sorry. We were able to get reservations on OpenTable same day which was on a Tuesday so that's expected when I came in. I was greeted by a friendly hostess, who sat us very quickly. The ambience inside is super modern and a good vibe in general. Our server, Yuri was absolutely amazing. She was super patient and helpful/accommodating with having a baby at a restaurant. They DO have high chairs! She also gave a really good recommendation of the ceviche which me and my wife found phenomenal! It was a different style of ceviche than I typically get and the variety of seafood as well as the sauce that it was marinated with was delicious. One thing, though that I would say that for personal preference at least would be that I wish they had some spice on it that would've sent it to the moon. I also got the steak the filet mignon specifically and I would've done the mashed potatoes because they sounded like they were really good, but I ended up getting potato wedges because my wife wanted some lolll The filet mignon was really good. I would say just one critique would be that it wasn't Cook the same throughout so like the right side was medium and then the side that luckily I cut into at first was medium rare so that was one downside but overall it was really good tasting steak. We also got a side of sautéed veggies, which were delicious. And then, lastly, when we were leaving or about to get the check, Yuri told us that because we are celebrating our anniversary that they wanted to surprise us with a flan! That flan was pretty good, I wouldn't say it's to die for . but I also come from a Hispanic family so I'm kinda picky. Next time I go back, I will definitely try a lot more on the menu and I have to go when I have a complete cheat meal so I can eat a lot of food! We didn't end up drinking today because middle of the week but next time I go back I have 100% will get some of their cocktails too as they look absolutely delicious! Overall, I would recommend this place. The staff was super super friendly ambience was good. The food was good and there's more items to explore on the menu

The Truly Bougie Dining club headed to Origen and it did not disappoint. I had been there last…read moreyear so I was a bit reluctant, however, and I am so happy to say they have hit it out of the park. I am so happy we chose your beautiful restaurant. For starters we were seated as soon as we checked in for our 6:30 reservation. We sat in a cozy area near the front. The ambiance was very pleasant. The table was set with beautiful plates and also big big Reidel wine goblets. Our server was amazing. Jamie made sure she gave us plenty of time to get settled and returned a few times to get everyone's drink selections and we didn't feel rushed. I ordered the Hibiscus Mezcalita, my friend ordered the December 2nd. Both were amazing craft cocktails. They were so good she ordered a second one and I ordered a Cucumber Spicy Mezcalita. Again very good. The rest of our group had beers, a few Old Fashions and an Aperol Spritz. All very good. (After dinner we were able to meet the mixologist behind the bar. He was so passionate about his craft and detailed his efforts and length it takes to make each of their signature drinks. It's very obvious he loves what he does and I should add he is the only one who creates these wonderful flavors, mostly for consistency for the rest of the bar staff. Super impressive.) Now to the even better stuff. Food was amazing. I ordered the Sonoran tacos. They were very tasty. The meat was tender. I used both sauces and the cream which is delivered to the table prior to dinner. My friend ordered tacos de Filet with the bone marrow. She was so happy with her selection. The manager Carlos actually had made his way to our table and when our food arrived he offered a hand. My friend wasn't sure about what to do with the bone marrow. Carlos stepped in and using a small spoon, spooned the bone marrow over the tacos for an added flavor. She was impressed as was the rest of our group. My other girlfriend ordered the Angus skirt steak. Unfortunately she thought her steak was a little chewy. Finally the men in our group opted for the 12oz ribeye, and the Cowboy bone-in Ribeye. Again they said the meat had great flavor, seasoned great, a great cut of meat, and zero left on their plate. They even substituted French fries for my husband which was a nice touch. Throughout the night Jamie checked on us, Carlos the manager checked on us, and we also had another gentleman come and ask us if our dinner was going good. I absolutely appreciated it. We were all so happy which made our dinner much more enjoyable knowing we were being treated with much so much care. We ended the night with dessert. We ordered a flan, a cheesecake made out of canela crackers, and a cake of some sort. All were delicious and were shared with the table. To top things off we were given a tour of this magical one of a kind restaurant. We were led to more intimate places throughout for bigger parties and celebrations. They also have a wine room filled with great wine selection. Definitely did not expect the different possibilities to entertain bigger parties. I am so happy to have returned to Origen. Thanks for a great night.
