Luk Fu is not your authentic Chinese restaurant. The food is always hit or miss. The menu offers Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai options. I'm not a big fan of their dishes, but when I'm hungry and wanna use comps for free Chinese food, I'll go. All their food seems to be cooked differently depending on their chefs (as I was told) which is why it tastes/looks different every time you order (even if it's the same dish). Food wasn't that great and it was pricey, not big servings at all, the hostess was very friendly and we thought it was going to be great, but then the waitress came over and asked what we wanted and then walked away... I thought that was very rude, when she eventually came back she brought water for us and asked what we wanted again, then she walked away again... lukfu is a pretty good noodle bar. not the best I have had in a casino but it was satisfying at midnight. they were on par with the broths. we had pho and fishball noodle soup. I enjoyed both broths but the fishballs were not great, more like fish cake but it's difficult to find a good fishball stateside. the beef in the pho was overcooked. they had sliced shank and brisket which was a bit tough. it's not terrible but I have had better on both. the price is normal for a casino. I see a lot of reviews complaining about this but this is not in the streets of Asia, you are in a casino, everything is charged at a premium. the key is to gamble so much they comp all your meals. read more

Price is a little high but I expect that in a casino place, kinda like paying more for popcorn at movie theater or food at an amusement park. I can only assume they really built this place for their Asian casino customers since it seems the entire staff speaks in their native language and has a little trouble with English and the menu is written is 3 or 4 languages..... but for me that adds to authenticity of this place. What a great experience! I visited Luk Fu with a friend for a late lunch/early dinner. We are both vegetarians, so we were a bit worried when we looked at the menu and there were limited vegetarian options. However, our excellent server Bao Mei recommended we try "the special" which we could have made with tofu. I wish I knew the name of the dish because it was exceptional! It came out family style in a clay pot and consisted of tofu, peas, and beans in a spicy sauce. Delightful! We also had the edamame which were cooked perfectly and the green beans with garlic sauce. Shockingly poor service and food. Went for lunch "special", which was to be a bento box. The salmon teriyaki comprised of two small strips, maybe 2 ozs, overcooked and not fresh. Tuna "roll" was 4 tiny pieces, tiny amount of fish, NO veggies (usually some cucumber, or avocado, or something), and rice - the end. Salad, usually an nice fresh crispy ginger, was just romaine lettuce?? White rice with sesame seeds. Service matched shit food. Greeting was " are you ready to order?" How about smile and say welcome and tell me something about the menu. Lite beer was $6, didn't offer cold glass for that stupid price. Didn't offer water. No soy sauce at table. The food is good, but the price is high for the quality. ESPECIALLY high for dim sum foods. And $3 for green tea, I mean really. On top of that, the service was poor. The waitress was polite, but we had to ask for utensils, she barely refilled our drinks, and our food came out over an unacceptably long span. We were a group of four. Some people I know would have been done by the time I got my dish, if they'd gotten theirs when two of my companions did. With more people working than diners sitting you would expect at least decent service. The waitress went up to everyone after 2 seconds of them looking at the menu trying to get their order. She did not clear one single plate and gave me the check after barely putting a dent in my food. Service was horrible but even worse is their sanitation. I witnessed a cook arrive, put on an apron and hat and didn't wash his hands. He then grabbed two gloves and took a sip of his iced coffee with the clean gloves in his hand touching his straw. This restaurant was meant to replace the other Asian eatery in the casino, Noodles, which is now closed. Unlike the old Noodles, Luk Fu is a full service restaurant with hostess and servers. Luk Fu looks on the outside to be nice, with gleaming open-air kitchen and video monitors of Asian scenery on the walls. The noise level is about what you'd expect for it being in a casino. The place was very busy for a Monday night and our server was pretty much overwhelmed. The service was not good but I'm willing to give the guy a break. I had the Pad Thai noodles with beef. Not only were the portions small but the beef was a weird yellow-orange color!! I've had authentic Pad Thai before and I've never seen yellow meat before! It also tasted like something other than beef. Just awful! As for the dim sum, I ordered the Sui Mai and got the smallest Sui Mai dumplings I've seen in a long time. The taste was passable but I would swear that they served me frozen dim sum, not freshly made. The food here makes the old Noodles eatery look like a Michelin star restaurant! This is the last time I will ever dine at Luk Fu restuarant in Maryland Live. The served came our table 10 minutes after we were seated. Before we could place our order she tried to sway us from dining at the restaurant by saying there was a 45 minute wait on the food. My husband and I both looked perplexed thinking this is weird. We both agreed we are here so we will wait. I order the crispy chicken and the same server says the crispy chicken is no longer crispy not sure if you want to order it. So instead I ordered the chicken and broccoli. Our food arrived 10-15 minutes later. After a few bites of the chicken and broccoli I sent it back because it lacked taste, was rubbery and luke warm. I watched another women be seated as I shared my husband's dish. The same server greeted her and I watched as she told her the same narrative. I aksed this women who only wanted to order Pho soup what was she told as I was concern she did this no one else. I reported this behavior to the manager who did absolutely nothing!!...No Apology No compensation ..Nothing I will never patronage this business ever again. My husband and I were in town and I've been craving dim sum. We got to the stand and the hostess went to find us a seat even though there were empty ones. The second hostess took the guy behind us to one of those empty tables, so when the first hostess got back the two of them had a conversation in what I believe was Chinese (they were trying to speak quietly and it's loud in the casino) I also know the difference between Korean, Vietnamese etc., I understand a little Mandarin and Korean so I am by no means ignorant or being funny. Having worked in the restaurant business for almost 15 years I already knew what this was about. Nevermind the fact someone was basically seated before us we are polite people even if we're hungry. We were told verbatim " there is only one server on this side so maybe you wait about 15 minutes?" Which we were okay with despite what should have been our table being the LAST one the server on that side could take. Right about then another server an older gentleman rushed up to the stand only to say " dont give them to me" he was clearly overwhelmed. So the hostesses chatted again and the first woman went to check with the "bartender" on the sushi and of the restaurant. I was hoping to avoid temptation as I am 6 months pregnant to start with and have been CRAVING sushi!! It was fine dim sum could save the day right?! No. We get sat on the far side at a table in the middle of the floor when there was two other booth style tables that would have bee more comfortable. There was a group of four sitting there eating already, like patient people we waited and figured out a back up plan. We travel alot so we were hungry already me doubly so but we kept it cool. After about 5 minutes and having has to walk by other staff who spoke kindly to us no one came by our table. I know how it is,it was memorial day and they were understaffed but they weren't slammed by any means but somehow the two maybe 3 servers they had we're neck deep in the weeds. We just decided to leave, left our menus on the table walked around to find a new place and just went to the cheesecake factory. I had high hopes for the food which I have no doubts is good but like most bad reviews here the customer service/ system is seriously flawed. Today I went and we told, "no take out" with no explanation as to why I couldn't get an order to go. The place was not even busy. I saw the guy in the pics on the website and asked him. I noticed a guy pulling them out of the frozen container and putting them in the steamer. Wow! $7.00 for five tiny dumplings. I also orders Mongolian beef. The portion was too small, it was lukewarm like that got the food off of a leftover plate. lol! The beef was full of gristle where I could hardly chew it. I gave up and returned the $18 entree. Went here for dinner around 10pm in the evening. Was about a 30 minute wait to be seated, which is understandable considering there aren't many food options in the casino. The two stars go to the food which is pretty good the times I have been there. The waiter that I had was incredibly rude and inattentive. Terrible service and lack of coordination from waitress. I visited this restaurant around midnight and there were plenty of seats in the bar area. However, it is hard to get service. You will get ignored by your waitress over and over again until you flag her down with the menu and then you will still get ignored. After I got her to get my order, the congee and the dim sums were pretty authentic. However, after I finish my meal, getting the waitress to accept my payment was really difficult. This review is for the dim sum and the duck noodle soup. The dim sum is not that good and it is not very tasty to me. The duck noodle soup, however, is awesome. I love the clear broth with scallions and egg noodles. The duck itself was seasoned to perfection. You get enough duck to hold you over while making your rounds. Its not too close to the blackjack tables-or at least the tables I have any luck on. Either way, you will walk. They dont serve alcohol either-only beer and wine. Another L for that. We've eaten here three times in the past 4 months. Food is a 3, service a 1, that's how I got to a 2 rating. Service was slow each time.... slow to get food, slow to get bill, slow to clean up, slow to get seated. I don't mind waiting to get seated at a restaurant, I don't care for waiting at the table for a server to welcome you and take your drink order, and I don't really like the fact that ALL the servers we have experienced have a a difficult time speaking/understanding the english language. Won't be coming back, taking my business to Cheesecake Factory 100 yards away, they are 90% prompt, courteous and have a menu with hundreds of selections. The Luk Fu menu is limited, the selection can fit on a yellow sticky. I can't recall ever leaving a restaurant review less than a 3-star, good luck if you try this out, don't think the name 'Luk' is coming your way. You'll need Luck to enjoy your visit. read more

Not that great of a place. We got the Yang Chow fried rice, the only flavor it had was salt. We also got the Singapore curry noodles which didn't have much curry flavor to it. The service wasn't that great either. We had to wait 20 minutes to get sat when there were many empty tables. We asked if we could sit at the bar, but we couldn't because we were told that one of the servers was on break and didn't have enough servers to cover the other end of the bar. The menu was very refreshing - it is hard to find such authentic cuisine in our area. I would highly recommend the Xiao Long Bao, Roast Duck Noodle Soup and Singapore Rice Noodles - all tasty dishes. So they seated us at a two top that had been cleared but not set. The waitress came in a reasonable (if longer than necessary) time. She took our order but supplied no setups. After a wait some of our dim sum order arrived. However we still had no utensils or napkins. We had a good wait while we attempted to flag her down and make our request. After an even longer wait we flagged her down again and asked about the rest of our order including a shared large soup. It arrived shortly thereafter. You guessed it, no spoons no bowels. yet another flagging situation. The only thing that came promptly was the check. It got so that our waitress actively avoided eye contact during our experience.
