It's a very cute place in a strip mall that has many options and choices for food. I wanted breakfast so there is limited options. I had to go with one of their omelette but it comes with salad and a vinaigrette dressing. I asked if I could substitute the salad for anything else and was told, no. It also came with a tiny waffle that was not the freshest. If you order coffee you will be charged for cream and because I asked for a little extra because my coffee was too dark I paid for cream three times. Strange but ok! Stopped in with a friend from out of town. This place was not what I was expecting we walked in and the music was blaring. There was a DJ in the corner and tons of women dancing around the bar as they drank their drinks, not saying anything wrong with any of that, it just wasn't what I was expecting. Kind of felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Don't expect to have meaningful conversation because it's so loud, the staff is very friendly, props there, but the food was just average. there was nothing really special with everything we ate. Decided to try this new spot that just opened up last week and it was great ! Opted for breakfast/brunch. The coffee was great. You can tell it was handcrafted with care. High quality,Cappuccino and macchiato, both were excellent. I ordered the criollo breakfast and a morning truffle omelette breakfast. Both were deliciously flavored and portion size was perfect. This little spot is catering to many Latino flavors from Venezuelan Colombian and Peruvian dishes. Can't wait to come back and try more of these delicious dishes. read more

Alert! New restaurant in Plantation! So good! We had the plantain with cheese as side, fried whole snapper with delicious coconut rice, salad & fried plantains. La bandeja paisa which had sausage, pork belly, rice, beans, avocado, arepa, and an egg on top. We shared the flan that was over ice cream with strawberries dulce de leche & caramel drizzled on top! Great visit to Luka Plantation! Large group walk-in accommodated comfortably and quickly on a Friday night (~8:30/9). Outdoor and indoor (table and bar) seating are available, and the space is really cozy and nice for nighttime visits. We ordered the carne asada and paisa bowls with the eggs on the side. The paisa bowl: 8.5/10-great flavor in everything (chicharrón, sausage, steak, white rice, plantains). The avocado was fresh, which I loved because I'm usually very picky when it comes to avocado. I liked the carne asada bowl more because I'm more of a salad than steak person. Nonetheless, the paisa bowl was amazing (chicken soup and bean sides came fresh hot and delicious, chicharrón was crispy, and the sausage and steak were both very yummy--steak was juicy but still well done!) The greens were fresh in the carne asada bowl and I had no concern or hesitation, which can sometimes be the case for salads, the papas criollas were also done peeeeeeerfectly. The cheeseburger wasn't my favorite, and was definitely the lowest ranked item in this great visit. Even still, my sister and dad both loved it so probably just personal preference. I'd rate it 7/10. The quinoa beans bowl was SO good!! Similarly, the americano and guava desserts wowed. We got an Oreo milkshake too, but kind of the same story as with the cheeseburger, just not what I came for. The americano was fresh and hot (even though it was 10pm), and real Colombian flavor (certified by my mother). The guava sundae was a MUST try, the tres leches was delicious and authentic, the guava was perfectly balanced (too much guava is a lot for me), and the presentation was beautiful. Lastly, forgot to mention but I loved the maracuya en leche juice and the lulo in water was eh in my opinion, but my dad and sister both liked it so I think that's also down to personal preference. We arrived at 7 pm on a Saturday night. We were promptly seated. We were a party of 4. Anthony the waiter introduced himself and told us a little about Luka's start. He was great start to finish!!For appetizers we ordered the Colombian empanada and Luka guacamole. They were both delicious!!! The presentation of the drinks was different, we all had Paloma's, they came out smoking. 2 of us ordered the parrellita bowl, wow so much food and again delicious! The lomo saltado and vaca frita bowls they raved of how good it was but it was so much food they took it home. My bowl came with soup, I ordered the lentil soup. It was sooo good! We didn't order desserts because we were so full but next time we will make sure to leave room. read more

Unfortunately, our visit was extremely disappointing in all aspects. Having visited the Luka location in Doral several times, we were hoping for a comparable experience. The food was awful and not prepared with care. Food order consisted of quinoa salad, appetizer platter and lentil soup. The soup was brought after much reminder since the waiter forgot. The salad came with enough dressing for half the salad, and the waiter was nowhere to be found. Finally flagged down the hostess and asked for dressing. The chicharrones in the platter were undercooked and lacked salt. Normally, water is served but not this instance. The service was horrible as I mentioned to the waiter at the end of our meal. We were seated very quickly and It was busier than we thought. The tequenos and the sauce were amazing.. but we're not heated all the way through. Still loved them though. The coffee was fantastic. The tacos were really good, would get them again. The omelet was a large portion with a salad and a delicious pan de bono waffle. Hidden gem in plantation @lukarestaurant really knocked it out of the park. The food was absolutely delicious, and to think it's a local bite makes it soo much better lol. The ambiance was beautiful and our waiter Liza was very knowledgeable of the menu. To start off my PAPELÓN (LEMONADE) brought me back to Jamaica and it took my life not to finish it before my food came out. My burger was so good I didn't take the onions off. The food at this resturaunt is pretty good. I enjoyed it and the food actually came out pretty quick. When we first arrived however it took about 15 minutes for someone to ask what we'd like to drink. Once that was done it was another 15 minutes before we actually got the waters. I was pretty thirsty so I drank it fairly quickly. When my food arrived my cup was empty. Upon finishing my food my cup was still empty. Someone in our party asked for refills and nothing. We are about to leave and there's not much that could convince me to come back to this place. Good food is nice but extremely rude employees and a very long wait time for a refill (it never came) is not acceptable. I can't tell you how many times our server checked her watch but it was significantly more times than my drink was refilled. The music is annoying but I understand that's a matter of taste, the inside of the testuraunt is nice overall but unfortunately bad service ruined this experience for me. read more

I liked this place. I enjoyed the diner vibe. There are excellent options on the menu lots of choices I had the eggs Benedict. It was OK. I felt like it was kind of bland for a hollandaise sauce. It needed more tang. The hashbrowns were good and the cappuccino was delicious. My waitress was nice. We tried this new restaurant twice, once for dinner and today for breakfast. The first experience was extremely off putting, the waitress was cold, unfriendly and unhelpful. I ordered the bowl and my chicken was over cooked and rubbery. For breakfast, my boyfriend ordered scrambled eggs, they came sunny side up and the toast was burnt. It took so long for our food to arrive that my boyfriend decided to start eating. When the waitress came over we let her know that the order was incorrect and she informed us that she did order scrambled eggs... no offer to recook the eggs, discount, nada. Therefore, we will not be going back to Luka anytime soon, they definitely have some things they need to address. read more

By diverse food I mean that I was pleasantly surprised by the choices on the menu. Luka says it's Colombian and Venezuelan, but it seems much more diverse than that and I have taught in Venezuela and visited Colombia several times. read more

Service was terrible. Took over 30 minutes and had to ask 4 different people for our waters. The busser eventually got them for us and he also later helped us get other items needed. The server only took our order never returned until payment to help at all. Very poor experience food was nothing great lacked a lot of flavor. But that doesn't have anything to do with how poor the service was read more

We went for brunch over the weekend with high hopes, as we have heard great things about the Miami location. The location and decor are great for Luka. In the interior is modern, clean, and bright. The food was pricey but good/ok. The service was friendly but terrible. We were the only table in the restaurant and it was difficult to get the attention of our server. We ended up sitting for about 15 mins after our plates were cleared for our check and our waters were never refilled. I don't think that we will be visiting again. The food was too expensive (albeit tasty) and the service was subpar. I will likely want to spend my money elsewhere. read more
