I was really hopeful and excited to try Luka Restaurant. We started with the guacamole appetizer, which was flavorful, and the sweet plantains with chicharrón were a nice touch. This gave me high expectations for the main dishes. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn. My dish arrived first, and my husband's lomo saltado came out about 10 minutes later. His dish was okay--the rice was a bit mushy, and the overall flavor leaned too salty. I ordered the parrillita bowl, but it was overwhelmingly salty. I let the server know, and they kindly took it back to adjust the seasoning. However, when the dish returned, it had the opposite problem--none of the meats were seasoned at all, making everything completely bland. Even my husband, after tasting it, agreed that it lacked flavor. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of potential. Maybe it was just an off day, but unfortunately, the inconsistency in the food left us disappointed. read more

Steaks were medium instead of medium rare, but somehow they got the chicken right? It took way too much effort to flag down the waiter and at this point it the only thing was that they had left out sour cream from our order, but instead he brought salt and pepper??? I was so confused and speechless, but he's walking away and can't hear you because the music is so loud. It was hard enough getting his attention the first time, we don't see him for another 20mins. This is hidden gem in plantation, I've been living here for over a year and did not know it was in this plaza. If you're looking for typical Colombia breakfast and food and some Venezuelan food as well this is the place. The service was good, we didn't have to wait long for our meals. We came here for the first time today and the food was sooo yummy! Our server Mauricio was so great, very nice and helpful! The food wasn't terrible or even bad. BUT what's upsetting is the portion size. I was sooo disappointed and thought to complain but just didn't. The waiter wasn't too interested in doing his job but for the amount of time that we were there it really didn't matter. The location wasn't very inviting to expect a nice dinner. All said I don't expect to go back. There are plenty of other choices to have a nice dinning experience. It was also a bit expensive for the mediocre experience. Probably go elsewhere. read more

My daughter invited me and my wife to dinner at this restaurant and it seemed to be pretty good. It was a little difficult to find because it's hidden in the plaza that you wouldn't think had a place like this. When entering the restaurant it looked very nice and to be honest with you, a little out of place compared to the outside of the plaza. We ordered the Picada which was very good. It was fresh, at a good temperature, and had good flavor. The service was good as well. On my second visit things didn't go so well. My wife and I went at lunchtime but really wanted to have breakfast. Since the menu indicated they serve breakfast all day, we decided to order Chicharron, a Steak and Cheese Cachapa (picture attached), and capuchino. We wanted the chicharron to come out first and the capacha after. After we ordered, a big party came in a sat in our area so our waiter was helping them as well. This delayed our order longer than it really should have taken. When the food did finally come out, it came all together but had a very appealing presentation so o expected it to taste the way it looked. This was not the case. When we tried the chicharron, it tasted like it was left over from the previous day (tough, a bit greasy, and cold). So we moved on to the cachapa. The steak looked like it was cooked perfectly medium as ordered and the cachapa looked very good as well. When we bit into it, the meat was cooked like it was precooked and sitting in the back waiting for someone to order and the cachapa was cold on the inside and the bottom was soggy like the whole thing was defrosted and reheated in the microwave right before serving. We did let the manager know of the issues with the food and the service while we were on our way out but, nothing was said or done based on our incident. I have this place a 3 because this is the average of my 2 experiences in the restaurant. I would recommend this place for their coffee and possibly for dinner. I do plan on going back but will be very cautious with both how long the service takes and what I order. read more

Ambiance was nice. It took over the spot where Mustard Seed used to be. Ample and convenient parking. Waitress was nice but failed to bring olives for drink despite being asked multiple times. Five meals came out at same time but sixth meal seemed forgotten and took awhile more to be brought out after we questioned it. Some food was delivered cold. Steaks were okay. For that price point, I prefer sauces to be served in ramekins, not plastic to go cups. I wouldn't refuse to go back, but this restaurant wouldn't be my first choice. read more

I had the pork belly burger and it was spectacular, my server Carlos was attentive , friendly and overall provided me with excellent customer service ! I have been excited about this coming to Plantation for almost 3 months. Checked the menu out and even looked at reviews from its other location. Went to the restaurant about 2 weeks after opening, and it was kind of empty. Sat down party of 2. We had amazing service. The food was excellent, not a bad wait time at all, and my wife liked the coffee Got our bill, and I was taken back. I ordered 2 meals for me lol so it was not that, and we had a party of 2. I saw an INCLUDED 18% gratuity charge. I was bot happy at all, and it still bothers me. I still tipped the waiter on top of that because he DESERVED it and EARNED the tip, but this is not something that I would support moving forward. Tips should be earned and given after a service, not before. I am not sure this restaurant will make it for long if that continues as I have seen other new restaurants try and charge a gratuity for small parties breakfast, lunch, or dinner and they didn't last or changed their policy. Go once for the food and make your own decisions, but their is no notice before you sit down of this policy, and you are not told till after you get the bill. I wish I could've given this nice looking Colombian spot a better review. However, I feel that the food in this location has been overhyped. When we entered, we were greeted by friendly staff and then seated and throughout our time in this restaurant, we noticed that the service was very spotty and we were waiting just to get our check so we could leave. The ambience in this restaurant was nice and clean and a bit too fancy for the quality of the food that they served there. They were also a bit unclear in the pricing for their items; as we were surprised at the end of our meal to realize that we have to pay extra for a side that we thought was already included with our meal, so that was a unpleasant surprise. I really do love Colombian food however, even staple Colombian foods such as arepas were just not up to what I thought it was gonna be especially with the pricing that they were giving. I don't write this review to put anyone down. I write it so that I can edify this restaurant and hopefully make it better and so that I may come back and enjoy it fully; not with the mediocre experience that me and my family had when we visited this restaurant. read more

This restaurant has the nicest staff ever! The food is delicious. I had a chimichurri Arepa yesterday and it was so good. My only complaint is that they automatically added an 18% gratuity.
