3-1/2 stars for good meat and good service. I'm not sure why every person from Texas, Carolina, and KC has to announce their 'credentials' and moan and whine about Colorado BBQ. If you are tired of it, don't eat it and do us all a favor by going home. I had a business lunch here and really enjoyed it. The brisket had a nice smoke ring and was extremely moist and tender. It may not be perfection, but it was real quality lean brisket. The sauces were decent, but not amazing. I really enjoyed the tangly slaw with the bits of green apple. The baked beans were a little odd-kind of runny and over spiced. Service was good and friendly, and the excellent iced tea stayed filled. My clients really enjoyed their sandwiches. read more

I really enjoy the atmosphere here but the food is often hit or miss. The parking can also be very difficult depending on what day of the week it is. There is a great wrap around bar, outside seating, cornhole and games. I think the meat is often really fatty but the mac & cheese, cornbread, and other sides are great. read more

Well the sausage was a disappointment. Thought I was getting some good ole hot links and was more like a hot dog. Just not what I expected.

My boyfriend and I headed to LuLu's today for lunch. I'm vegetarian year round, and he has taken up vegetarianism for the month of January, so a BBQ joint for a lunch date wasn't expected for either of us. However, we were delighted to see LuLu's has several veg options that go beyond the expected mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. We decided to split the Smoked BBQ Tofu and Veggie Tacos. The combination of the two came with three sides: fried okra, sweet potato tots, and a side salad. Both my boyfriend and I were obsessed with the Tofu. He's a meat eater normally, and before our food arrived, he was drooling over the food surrounding us. When ours arrived, he didn't seem to miss the meat. The fried okra and tots were also delicious, but both needed salt. The salad was a salad. The only real disappointment was the tacos. They didn't season the veggies at all, so they were incredibly bland. If the experience was based on the tofu alone, I'd give this place 5 stars for sure! We will be going back. read more

I feel compelled to write this just because of the service. I'm in the industry and usually feel like I get sub-standard service, maybe because I look young. Tonight Melissa was great; friendly, timely, best server I've had since last time I was at Colt & Grey. Food was pretty good, too. 5 Stars for Service, but.... The bad: Out of sweet potato tots and chicken wings at 7:00. If the wings are a special make enough to get thru the first wave, come on! My wife and I happened to be in Lewisville on a week night and stopped in for diner. We had the sample platter so we could try a variety of things. The sausage had a little bit of heat and was just ok. The ribs, brisket, fried okra and beans were fantastic. Very moist and a little hint of smoke and spice. Being it was a nice evening the patio was a nice relaxing environment for some very tasty BBQ. $2 beer specials (mamas little yellow pill and more) was a nice touch as well. Love, love, love this place. Chicken wings, ribs, brisket, sauce and sides all made me smile and want more. The PitMaster here knows his business and the staff was great, even though it was busy. The "backyard" area was great for drinking and also for the kids to be kids. It is loud but not noisy and if you come in with a big top at a busy time, expect to wait, don't be a jerk and wonder why in a Yelp review. Just because you see a table open, doesn't mean that a 5 top could work RIGHT NOW! lol. Our server was super knowledgeable and friendly. Knew a lot about the process of smoking and guided us through the food menu and the all important drinks that are creative and well executed. Extremely poor service and took forever to get our food however, the food was delicious! They didn't appear to be properly staffed so I think that was the issue. I would definitely recommend this place for good food but don't go here if you're in a rush. read more

We've been here twice now and the barbeque is definitely worth return visits. Tangy and flavorful smoked brisket and pork and delicious sweet potato tots. I especially savored the house made sauces. There is a bar in the back and the place is pretty noisy but lively. read more

My BBQ needs are simple: good meat (of course). Savory, tangy sauce that doesn't taste like it has 10 pounds of sugar in it. And memorable sides. Lulu's meets these needs beautifully. Their green bean casserole could use a little work (it's a tad bland), but those mashed potatoes and that mac and cheese? Lord almighty. Their PPO is an excellent addition - I've learned to love it, and mix it with just about everything on the plate. My husband and I usually split a sampler platter with chicken, pulled pork, and sausage. All so good. The only downside is that if you come later in the evening, you risk them being out of certain meats - particularly brisket. Take note. Otherwise, this is pretty much the best BBQ in the area. read more

Great patio, vibe, and food! As a vegan, expectations are generally pretty low when you go to a meat heavy, legit, real deal BBQ joint. I went with a meat eater who LOVES BBQ and assumed I would just order a salad or potato and just enjoy the company and smells, lol. But Lulu's?! The most EPIC and delicious dry-rubbed bbq tofu! We went in on an "off time" on an "off day"...there were two people in a booth and two people at the bar. My party of 3 walked in behind 4 "good sized" men...they put us at two tables right next to each other. It felt like we were sitting with them. (we later asked to be moved) Felt like the waiter had better things to do...may be because it was the end of his shift? We ordered family style and had to ask for "plates". And ask for refill of water... The food was...ok. The meat was very dry, ribs were tough at times. Bummer because we all had been anticipating trying this place. Awesome BBQ and what a value!!! Great specials every night of the week. We smoke and BBQ at home and consider ourselves big fans of BBQ. The meats are all great, nice pink rings. It is slightly annoying that 1 of 4 times we went there they were out of Brisket...I mean seriously this is a BBQ place. But the other options are great too. We have tried the sweet potato tots, green bean casserole and baked beans as side...they are fantastic. Everything is reasonably priced sandwiches for $10 for dinner and it is plenty of food. First visit to Lulu's in Louisville, CO. I like the open space and the layout. Great outdoor seating but I sat inside as it was too hot out. I was seated right away and my server came by under 5 mins. I had the pulled pork sandwich, with coleslaw and fried okra as sides, with a sweet tea. Now, I just got back from a trip to Nashville, so I've had a ton of BBQ recently. The pork was good, mildly seasoned and moist. It was the best item on the plate. The slaw was ok, not salted enough for me - rather forgettable, really. I did not enjoy the fried okra, as I thought it was undercooked and vegetal, even though the batter was nicely browned. I didn't like the bun either, it was oddly tough. The service was good, and everyone friendly overall. I'd likely eat here again, but not until I try other places new to me first. read more

This is the best barbecue I have had not in Texas! The pulled pork was made to perfection. The brisket was a little bland, but with the sauces it was good. The ribs were amazing! The meat fell of the bone and it had a nice flavor. The nachos with the pulled pork as the meat were delicious! The chips weren't too oily or salty, and the ratio of chips to toppings was perfect. So we went for the burnt ends and they were out so we opted for the Shepard's pie and I gotta say some sheep could be expertly moved around by this Dish. The brisket was tender like melts in your mouth and the potatoes had cheese and just basically you couldn't go wrong here. The asparagus was happy not sad and all wilted and over cooked. Great atmosphere, excellent service, good food. I came with my family and 5 month niece, loved the patio and had multiple staff pay us just enough attention. Being that the menu was small I was looking forward to perfected flavors and dishes. The smoked wings and Mac n cheese were perfect, the fried okra and corn bread were disappointing though not terrible by any means just needs a revisit. I also got the burnt ends special hearing great reviews, I was only slightly disappointed because it was slightly dry but I'm in it for the flavour and hands down best of the meal. WOW, YUM! Just moved from Los Angeles to Louisville and I'm still in culture shock (in a good way). Food was delicious, our server was friendly, atmosphere was relaxed.. ahhhh! We decided to try the sampler platter and it was perfect for my wife and I to split for lunch. I wasn't sure it was going to be enough food, but when I went to stand up at the end, I was surprised to be more full than I realized. Towards the end of our meal someone stopped by to bus some of the plates from our table. We mentioned to him that the BBQ sauce was awesome. He thanked us and replied that it was his Dad's recipe! Wow! One of the owners stopping by to bus the tables and talk to customers. That made a great impression with me. This is what makes a place great: intimate atmosphere and personalized attention by people who care. We WILL be back.
