The food here is amazing. The sourdough pancakes were awesome. Family complete breakfast truly the top pick and country fried steak was a huge stand out. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was cozy. Please check this place out.

Hoss. It never disappoints. 3 eggs, hash browns, sourdough toast and a big hamburger patty.

Love this place for breakfast. Had the Hoss. It never disappoints. 3 eggs, hash browns, sourdough toast and a big hamburger patty. Wifey had the lil Joe, one egg, bacon, hash browns and 1/2 of a sourdough waffle. Sourdough waffles are amazing. Service is amazing. They're all very nice and attentive. If it's the weekend prepare to wait for a seat and parking is limited and can be a challenge. Just keep circling.

Service is slooooowww, but the large plate size and flavor made my hangry man baby quite content. The sourdough pancake was delicious, and my basic scrambled eggs and side of avo were good (red salsa is AMAZING), but the chefs kiss was my hubby's "chainsaw and eggs" plate. He has commented at least ten times how much he liked it. Whew, he was hangry so crisis adverted! Service though, very very slow. We had to get up to go get coffee or napkins, but no biggie.

Last girls trip to Big Bear, and my friend raved about the green chilaquiles breakfast from Lumberjack Cafe, so we rolled out of bed early on Saturday and rolled into the cafe at 9:00 am. I spotted corned beef hash on the menu and you know me I couldn't resist! Corned beef hash can be a gamble but this one was a slam dunk with crispy edges, tender center and entirely delicious. My eggs over easy were a tad runny but the hash more than redeemed them. But the real showstopper? The green chilaquiles. The salsa was... unexplainably magical. Bright, zingy, and just different enough to make you wonder if they bottled this stuff in fairy dust. I wish they sold the sauce separately so I could bring a jar home and pretend I made a chef's kiss at home. By the time we finished eating, the restaurant was packed and people were waiting for tables proof that great breakfast travel far and fast. Bottom line: I'd drive back to Big Bear just to eat here again. Breakfast is my jam, and Lumberjack Cafe is now my jam's new best friend. Would I recommend? Absolutely! If you love a solid breakfast lineup, a surprising salsa, and crispy hash, Lumberjack Cafe is your spot.

We came in on a Sunday morning around 10, we didn't have to wait long to be seated. It's very small inside. This place needs better customer service, one of the girls sat us at our table and literally just dumped the utensils and menus on our table without saying a word. Our waitress was great tho, she was very lovely and accommodating, actually communicated with us. The food was good, 8/10 The eggs and hash brown were my fave, they were very buttery (not so healthy I guess) My son got the breakfast burrito and it was huge, he really liked it, but was only able to eat half.

Great service and good food! Nice seating outside to enjoy the weather during the summer.

Great food and customer service. Parking is easy. We got seated right away on a Monday during January, with a party of 9. We sat at two different tables, but we didn't mind. The food came out pretty fast and everyone enjoyed their meal. Nothing fancy. Small town diner vibes. I would recommend this place. I give it a 8.5 out of 10.

I had the opportunity to visit with Mrs. Pickles and she was just a sweet gem. Although we got there at 11:30 and they had already sold out of all of their full pies and pot pies. They did have a good selection of some sliced pies left. So we ordered a couple slices of blueberry and thyme pie. Wow! What an outstanding pie great texture outstanding taste. It was simply amazing. Mrs. Pickles was very friendly and took time to explain the ordering process how we can call in orders and things like that. I am so glad we came in here and gave it another shot. If you are driving by this little place that looks like out of a storybook stop in you'll be glad you did there. Remember to lineup an hour before they open to get your best selection. Also, while you're there, walk around and look at the amazing job, they did outside the restaurant of planting some sustainable food. They did a wonderful job with their espalier apple tree they started along one side of the building. In addition, it looks like they have a fabulous looking raised bed garden that they've got started. Also, is your walking in? They've done an amazing job setting up sustainable plants and a spectacular looking irrigation system. This time we will be calling in and placing some orders beforehand. Great little shop you have their Mr. and Mrs. Pickles.

I believe we got two pies that were two different berry mixes among other things. My husband wolfed both down because he ate one and loved it so much that he had to eat the other one. Mind you, my husband has grown up eating pies his whole life. His grandma used to make them from scratch all the time when she was still alive. So pies are a very sentimental and favorite food of his. I got the chicken pot pie, absolutely delicious. I'm obsessed with chicken pot pies and this one super hit the spot. Hubs is so very sad that we don't live close to the Pickles at all. We just happened to be in Big Bear on vacation and decided to stop by to grab some pies to take home. Our cousin was with us and got one slice to share with her parents and they ate it all. It wasn't enough. We all wish we had more. We'll definitely be back when we're back in town. Shoutout to Mr & Mrs. Pickles, your love and craft really shows in your food. Mr. Pickles was so nice too! He was taking the orders and tending the register. It's also such a cute little whimsical cottage, I love it!

When we stopped in the line was extremely long, which is great for the local businesses. The store has three unique sections. Ice cream, candy, chocolate, gummy, worms, etc., and caramel apples. I'm not sure if the employee was happy with us, but we ordered from every section. It almost seemed like he wanted us to go back and get in line to order from a new section but we didn't. I had peanut butter and chocolate on a cake cone that was outstanding. The wife had chocolate chip on a sugar cone and she also enjoy it. The grandkids had a variety of different flavors and I have to assume they enjoyed it because there was none left. The daughter ordered a caramel apple with some topping on it that she thoroughly enjoyed. She also ordered an extra one that was sliced that she shared with all of us. It had caramel and nuts on it. Very tasty. We also ordered different chili, flavored gummy worms and gummy rings. The grandkids thoroughly enjoyed. In addition, had to try out the chocolates. Had the dark chocolate haystack wasn't too impressed with it. Had a couple of dark chocolate cashew clusters. The wife said they were very good. The three employees that were working behind the counter we're doing a great job keeping the line moving. They also offer a discount if you eat at saucy mamas beforehand and bring your receipt. The line moved quickly, and it was well worth the wait. We ordered a two-scoop waffle cone, which was absolutely humongous and incredibly delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient, the prices were reasonable, and the lively atmosphere added to the fun. It was the perfect way to end a relaxing day in the mountains. We'll definitely be back for another scoop (or two!) the next time we visit Big Bear.
