The cafe and garden is quite lovely. We went on a sunny day and there were butterflies flying around. Unfortunately, the coffee is not as great. It's passable, but it's not third or even second wave espresso. Also the sweetened drinks are all VERY sweet. Obviously, this might be a high bar for a small town but we'd just come from SLO where they jumping way over the high bar. read more

This was our first time staying over in Cayucus, so we decided to check out new places we have never eaten at. We chose this place for breakfast. Everyone was really helpful they have coffee drinks and pastries, and a few breakfast options. My only negative thing from this experience was it was a bit disappointing to only get once slice of bread in the avocado toast. I thought it was a bit chency. But flaor was good and it's a cute garden setting, but with one piece of toast I was still hungry after I ate. Prices are okay so good clean choice. read more

The interior and patio area of the cafe is super cute. Eclectic art and they were selling handmade mugs and jewelry inside. The baristas were really nice and friendly. There was a long line out the door, so it took a while until we could order drinks. I had the traditional breakfast burrito and the strawberry smoothie. The smoothie was ok, it was a premade mix so no fresh fruit or anything. I think that they are known more for their coffee-based drinks but given that they have açaí bowls, I thought that the smoothies would be of better quality. The burrito was decent but kind of bland, but at least a really big portion size. Additionally it came with chips and really good salsa. The main downside was how long the wait was for the burritos. I would say about 25 minutes, so don't come here if you are in a rush. All in all, this place is a cute spot to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the atmosphere. If you are looking for a trendy spot, this place is it, but the food and drinks are lackluster and expect a long wait. I would be curious to come back and try the coffee-based beverages, as they seem to be the highlight of this place based on other reviews. read more

Not sure if I went on an off day or if just close to closing time things are different... I've heard very good things about this place but am giving it 2 stars to hope this is looked at and corrected. It was busy, so it's interesting so see that when it gets busy there's no real line inside, instead people are standing at the door (fire hazard imo), I only saw one girl working the counter and was hopeful standing in this odd line would be worth it. I get to the point of standing in the doorway and can almost walk in and the girl working suddenly looks away from the customer she's serving and yells at me to wait outside with my service dog. I tell her, this is my service dog (I even had my GSD wearing her vest). She makes a big spectacle, acts agitated and goes back to taking the others customer's order. I literally walked out, I was very insulted and the place was already super crowded. Maybe recommend going at an odd time when not many people are there. But for this business to say that they are even dog friendly but not friendly to people with disability and service animals, that was a bit shocking and might be a while until I try again. (Also for people with dogs that aren't SAs, how are they expected to order if being told to wait outside? Really.) read more

Absolutely beautiful entrance to this coffee shop which felt unique and special to Cayucos. Of the 3 coffee shops we visited in downtown Cayucos, this was by far the best tasting coffee and we just ordered the house drip! They had assorted pastries and food but we didn't partake. Luna is such a Special Spot in Cayucos. !! They have wonderful food!! Lots of breakfasts to choose from , all delicious!! Their lunch menu has great items too. But my Favorite item there has Always been. They are home of the Cayucos Cookie. My very favorite cookie Ever. I could eat a dozen a day. I Love them!' I'd tell you to go try them, but they only make a dozen a day and I hate when I go and they are sold out!' I got the last one today around 2! !! This is a really nice coffee shop. We walked up and they have a sign that says follow the yellow brick road. You walk into the building to order your food and drinks, then they bring it out to you. Just be mindful that even though there is a whole big garden only part of that belongs to Luna coffee bar. We sat in the wrong area and we were told that it was not part of Luna coffee bar's property and had to move. I ordered the avocado toast and it was really good I added the egg on top. We stopped here in a whim on our drive back from Big Sur, we needed a bit more caffeine for our drive back. This adorable coffee shop is tucked in the middle of Cayucos. Parking was packed but we found a spot less than a block away. I ordered the 16 Oz Cinnamon Vanilla Latte and my husband ordered a 16 Oz Caramel Macchiato. Both were delicious. Cutest coffee shop ever! I've been to Luna twice now, on separate trips. This place serves the best coffee in town (I've tried all the others). Fantastic little oit of the way place. Great coffee, service, and atmosphere. But the house-made pastries and breakfast menu make this place a knockout. The avocado toast (get an egg on top) and yogurt-granola-fruit bowel are the standards by which I now judge all others. Whenever I'm in Cayucos, I make it a point to stop here. Haven't tried lunch, but can't imagine it isn't every bit as good as breakfast and pastries. The patio is wonderful in warm weather, too. read more

I cannot explain how happy I was to find this gem. During a road trip from Long Beach to Big Bear, I only found two spots that have Matcha. This is one of them. And boy was I excited! It's the cutest little spot tucked away with the most beautiful flowers and greenery around it. I ordered a matcha late with almond milk. The gal working was the only one there this day and was hustling. She made my drink perfectly and was super friendly. The matcha was unsweetened and frothed to perfection. Got there early before 7:30am and needed assistance from the Bistro what to order, so I got a Bear Claw, Blueberry Scone, Cinnamon Roll, a Mexican cookie and to drink a Mexican coffee. The Bistro snagged the deserts from the back and every one of these pastries were excellent and not from Costco, I'm not meaning Costco has bad pastries, but it's like these pastries where fresh, homemade and extra delicious than any other bakery I know of. And what can I say about the Bistro, she was excellent, I love when someone helps with ordering and advises me ther best recommendations. Especially on the coffee, brilliant! I used to like this cafe a lot. Before I even moved to the area, I would stop at this cafe. Being a local, I would visit it more often. I recommended it to friends that would visit the area. Unfortunately, the last visit wasn't that great. Keep in mind! If they make you a specific brewed tea (over ice) one time, they will not make it again. To be talked to so rudely while other customers were waiting made me feel a certain way. I understand that you only make brewed tea if it's not busy. However there was only one customer in front of me and one behind me, then no one else. I guess that is deemed busy?! Fortunately, there are other cafes in the general area to go to and recommend to friends. The only charm of this place is the garden sitting area outside of it. read more
