Plentiful parking on the Irvine side of The Marketplace. Was pretty dead on a Sunday afternoon for a fast casual lunch. Their menu is through QR code and you order at the counter, get your drink and table number, then wait for your meal! This was my second time here; last time, their signature plate of chicken and steak kebobs was pretty good and on par with counterparts like Panini Kabob. This time, I ordered a classic bowl with salmon and a side of fries. Extra points for a beer and wine list that didn't gouge you. The bowl came with an ungodly portion of radish/radicchio, but a small piece of salmon. The vinaigrette was a bit sour and some of the greens were wilted. Was not impressed. We ordered the bonfire shrimp santorini bowl, which is one of my favorite go-tos for Luna Grill, and the lunatic sampler. We liked the flavor of the basmati rice, and the shrimp was cooked well on the bowl. On the lunatic sampler, the harissa hummus was really good too and added a nice kick to the falafel and pita bread. We had the team member, Raul, help us, and he was very friendly and checked in on us a couple times as we ate. By far, the best service I've received while dining in at Luna Grill. Well, I keep giving this place another chance but they fail me every time. Went in today and ordered the bistro beef kebab plate. Paid for my meal, made my drink, and sat down at the table while enjoying a nice afternoon with my spouse. After about 10 minutes, the manager came over to let me know that they just discovered they were out of beef and wanted to know if I'd like a substitute. I'm usually very flexible, but I was looking forward to this meal. I asked why the cashier wasn't informed of this when I ordered. And I have to wonder why it took so long for them to discover this. As for me, I was settled in, enjoying my iced tea and patiently waiting for my food so needless to say, I was super irritated but not surprised. It just speaks volumes about the poor management and organization in the kitchen. So I chose to get a refund and leave. I can't even say I'm disappointed because it's just how it is at Luna Grill in the Tustin Marketplace. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. A lot like going to Luna Grill time and time again and expecting them to get your meal correct, and/or provide the service you're entitled to as a paying customer. read more

I ordered the California pita classic with fries I waited 20 minutes and I only get the pita with onions who's I said onions ! And no fries at all! I tell the manger she says oh fries are coming I wait 10 minutes no fries I ask again and the cook says I canceled the fries wth ?? Food was cold presentation bad Never eating here again ! read more

I love Luna Grill. I just went there for lunch and ordered my lunch to go. The lady wearing the "leadership" shirt took my order. When she went to bag it up she saw they put double rice instead of rice and humas. She told the cook in the back to fix it and he proceeded to dig the rice out of my to go box with his hand and put it back into the rice cooker! I didn't have time to argue, but what a waste of money since I was not about to eat that rice anymore! The other cook saw me watching and motioned to the guy who looked up at me. The "leadership" female was standing there watching the whole thing too! Makes me not want to here anymore! read more

While driving around and exploring the sprawling Marketplace in Irvine we were originally headed towards the Chick-fil-A but saw Luna Grill and changed our minds- I have lots of reasons why I seldom frequent the original target but I digress. Parking is a shared lot with Texas de Brazil, a place to try soon, and we were in before a slight dinner rush began. Kabobs are the usual default but sometimes I get a hankering for a gyro plate and Luna Grill can accommodate that desire. So it stood, Beef Kabobs for her and the Gyro Plate for me. Both come with basmati rice, a salad, and a few pita (chips), although I wish they would only cut them in half, not virtually useless quarters, but that's how corporate chose. The gyro was tasty but not sure if it was sliced to order or reheated presliced meat, it was a tad dry. Otherwise, I enjoyed every bite of it. Her kabob was well prepared and it disappeared. We do like the company as a whole and will dine at various locations when we can. One highlight though was trying the Hibiscus Strawberry Tea. Absolutely delicious and not overly sweet. The bathroom was clean (except the floor in front of the urinal, c'mon guys, is it that hard to aim?) but lots of soap and paper towels to utilize, which is a plus. Sorry...not a fan. For the price, the portions are small, the pita bread is like a mini disc, and the quality is about the only positive. I bought the chicken kebab plate and I swear I could hold the chicken pieces and rice in the palm of my hand. I tried to wrap my pita slice around one of the chicken chunks and the darn bread wouldn't fit around the small piece of chicken. No wort for almost $20. read more
