Always loved this place but the customer service was horrible on my last order. I placed an order on DoorDash and paid extra for chicken to be added to my Caprese. I paid $2.85 extra for each Padina. I called in and asked if they could make sure that they use the grilled chicken instead of the deli meat. This has never been an issue in two years. The woman I spoke with, I think her name was VEE, made it a cumbersome process to try to charge me another $5 for the grilled chicken. While I understand this chicken is more expensive and I have paid the additional fee in the past, she made the process very cumbersome, all while dealing with a crying baby. I might've spent $1000 here over the years, and I told her that this might be my last time ordering given this experience. Her exact comments back was, "OK no worries." So in the future, I'll never order again and you've lost me as a customer. Congrats. You made $5 more. And lost hundreds in the process. read more

Piadina has become one of my favorite lunch spots in Irvine. I ordered the Irvine sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious fresh ingredients, great flavor, and cooked perfectly. It's one of those places that makes you wonder why it isn't constantly packed. The restaurant is always spotless, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. One thing I really appreciate is that they bring your food to your table, which is a nice touch these days. Be sure to leave them a tip they definitely earn it. If you have a dog, you'll love the outdoor patio, so you can enjoy lunch with Fido. There's also plenty of parking, which makes stopping by easy. Another bonus is the location. It's right next to Dairy Queen and several other restaurants, so if you're craving dessert afterward, you've got plenty of options. They also have an awesome self-serve fountain drink station with a great variety of sodas and flavored drinks. I almost hesitate to write this because it feels like Irvine's best-kept lunch secret. Al's though it looks like a fast casual shop where you walk down the line and pick your fixins but it's much more streamlined. You just order and sit, more like a burger joint. They also offer cafe choices like coffee and pastries. Items are on the pricier side but honestly it's filling. I'm told seasonal items rotate decently frequently Piemonte (seasonal) I'm a really big fan of the bread for these sandwiches. It reminds me somewhat of Chinese scallion pancakes as far as texture is concerned: a slightly sandy exterior with a dense chew. Flavor on the bread is doughy and nutty, very pleasant. As far as toppings, this is a very successful wich! The brisket is tender and savory, vegetables are crisp, onions sweet and crunchy, and the aioli tastes strongly of truffle. Absolutely love Piadina! It's been a while since I've had it and it was just as good as I remembered, if not better. Needed a quick bite to eat and the Newport is everything I want in a sandwich: well-assembled, packed with delicious and savory flavors, quality ingredients, all wrapped in delicious textured flatbread that's been cooked on a griddle. Although the piadinas don't look large, I've always found them to be filling and have trouble eating the entire thing in one sitting unless I'm super hungry. So I would say they are not huge portions but extremely satisfying to eat. Service is friendly and efficient and ambiance is casual - a great spot to stop by if you need something fast and delicious. Due to the truffle aioli, it has a steong flavor kick so if you're not a fan of truffle, you can try their Austin one which comes with garlic aioli instead and avocados to balance out the brisket flavor. The flatbread is nice and crispy on the outside and a soft chew texture. They also give a good amount of meat and sauce so it just blends so well! The staff here are friendly and very open to explain their menu to you if it's your first time. They also do have a rewards app, which you can accumulate points between this store and their sister store Sole Toscano in Irvine, but you can only redeem points when you order through their app, just a heads up! But to expand on my previous review, I want to talk about their sandwich specials, specifically the Piamonte sandwich. If you are hungry, ravenous for something fulfilling but light and tasty and meaty, more so than a sub sandwich, this is IT. Dunno how the staff made made such a magical combo, but I also recommended this specific sandwich to my friends and it is LIFE CHANGING: brisket, truffle aioli, onion, arugula. One note: its on their special menu you have to walk in or call to order, but it's worth it...I'm sad I finished it all before taking a picture. I have been going to Piadina for YEARS. Each time purchasing at least three sandwiches with a minimum $50 total. This most recent time, 6/4/26, was where I drew the line. Increased prices, I understand. First, what I assume was the manager left the poor girl, who was obviously new, to make my sandwiches on her own so she, an insult to a supervisors or title, could go on break so she could take a few personal calls. Now whenever I've ordered the New York, I ask for a side of balsamic vinegar and gotten it with a smile. This time, I was informed it is going to be a 50 cent extra charge. I assumed since she was new, maybe it was a mistake. No, I went outside to ask the 'person in charge', who was clearly annoyed I was interrupting her call to solve world peace, only to be told, sorry, you'll need to pay. Well, a true sign of a business is how you treat your customers, and take into account what you are really providing. So, to the owner of Piadina, you just lost a long standing customer, over a mere 50 cent. To me, it's not about the money but rather how I am valued, and clearly, my biweekly $50 order is not worth a complimentary side of vinegar. I've been coming to this unique Italian sandwich shop for several years now but I feel like the quality has dropped since I last ate here. The bread is not as good as it used to be but the fillings inside are still delicious and good quality. The turkey combined with the mozzarella, prosciutto, spinach, and garlic aioli makes for a good lunch meal. Prices have definitely gone up since the pandemic which is a negative for me but I do understand that they had to raise prices because food costs went up. They still offer a variety of sandwiches and service was good when I came in and parking is plentiful in the Irvine Marketplace. The only challenge I've encountered is with online ordering. At the moment, the steak option is not available online (only brisket appears), and the platform mainly offers "add-ons" but doesn't allow for easy substitutions or removals. There's also no option to request no dressing, which makes it harder to customize orders. Because I truly love this place and order from here often, I'd love to see some improvements in the online menu -- more flexibility with substitutions, removals, and full access to the in-store menu items. I think this was the reggio. Overall it's a pretty classic and simple combo of arugula prosciutto mushrooms tomatoes and mozzarella and it was really yummy! I really liked the special Piadina hot sauce too... wish it came with more on the side but it made the perfect addition to the sandwhich. I hope they build one in huntignton beach.. I ordered two diff piadina sandwiches. One was a turkey called Newport and I added toasted almonds.. which was a win! and the other was the Austin and it was so damn good. I really liked both a lot. My friend and I switched half and half. Asdar and Branton helped me and they were great. Branton was able to suggest some options as my friend had never been here and for me it had been years.. the place was super clean and had some chip options/ soup and pizzas also. They had plenty of seating outside and inside with nice A/C. The parking at this location can be tricky for sure but maybe order ahead and then pick it up to go? They have to go spots outside that should be open because the security patrols the area religiously. I came here because it was next to Sephora and I was starving. There wasn't a wait, the restaurant itself very clean and staff was friendly. I was unsure of what to order so I asked for two sandwiches; the Milano because of the advertised picture on yelp and the California because the employee at the register (I didn't catch his name, but he's tall curly haired) recommended it. I also purchased an Italian peach iced tea (delicious) and chips which I would skip next time. Im giving 4 stars solely for the California sandwich and gentleman at the cash register that made it. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time! The wrap was toasted perfectly and ingredients were fresh/ tasty. The pesto sauce makes the sandwich taste superb! Now, the Milano was made by someone else (a young lady?) and it was lacking... the bread (although it's the same as the California) wasn't toasted the same & it seemed to be low on its ingredients.
