Chicken Quesadilla

Fantastic food and atmosphere, Anna our waitress was fantastic, very attentive to what we wanted to drink what we were gonna eat, and the food was delicious!!

These are the nachos with beef. The beef was so dry, we could not eat it!

We have not been to Luna Loca's for quite awhile and we will NOT be back! The Nachos with beef were horrible! The beef was so dry we could not eat it! We ordered two soft tacos, but were served two crispy tacos and a green sauce enchilada. We told our waiter that the meal was incorrect and he said it would be replaced immediately! The correct meal NEVER ARRIVED! We ordered a pitcher of beer and although the glasses were chilled, the beer was warm! We do not believe this restaurant will be opened much longer, unfortunately, as Luna Loca's has been a staple in Danville for years and used to be very good.

Chicken chimichanga with rice and pinto beans

My buddy arranged a dinner at Luna Loca for a party of twelve men to celebrate his 25th year of sobriety. We were easily accommodated in the outdoor patio. I was looking forward to eating at a restaurant I have not yet tried. Our server worked hard and replenished our chips and salsa and iced teas. Our order took some time to get to the table but unfortunately was not worth the wait. Everyone has an entree with rice and beans. My entree was a chicken chimichanga. The rice was dry and bland. The pinto beans were good. The chimichanga had no flavor whatsoever. Everyone seemed to feel the same about their meal. Overall my experience was three of five stars.

If I could give this place less stars I would. Five of us had bought into there Super Bowl party. $100 per person. That gave us unlimited margaritas and food. Upon arrival we were told ( by I assume the manager) they had no table for us to sit at. When we explained that we were part of there Super Bowl party, we were told they had no clue as to what we were talking about. We proceeded to sit at a table near the bar but only to be told we couldn't sit there because the owner reserved them for the Super Bowl party. Okay but we were just told that by the same guy that he had no clue about a party. We asked if we could sit around the other side of the restaurant to only he told that those tables were reserved as well. So now we are all standing there. When we asked where we "could" sit he said there was no tables. So he decided to push tables together in a part of the restaurant that I wouldn't let my dogs sit at. By this time we were trying to make a really bad situation better for us. We wanted to order food to be told the kitchen was closing in 15mins. I need to explain we were not the only people being told this. We knew the food that was being offered was not going to be done for at least a few hours. We ordered quickly. My son was at the bar getting a margarita to have the one of the wait staff walk up and hand him plates of food. They couldn't even deliver it to our table. Or wouldn't. No one ever came to clear the table. This is honestly the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. This restaurant had multiple football pools going on. Unfortunately at the end of the game people were told to come back in two to three days to collect there money because the owner left. If there is one thing that I can say was pleasant was the two bartenders Melissa and Ruby. They were very nice.

Pollo wet burrito

Food is not good. Rice is dry and bland. Beans tasted like they came from a can. Only thing tasty was the cheese on top of the wet burrito. Shredded chicken was also dry and bland. Do not recommend this dish until they fix the rice, chicken, and beans.

I so want to give this place the full five stars but I really can't. First time I came here in person, I ordered the Chicken Sixty-Three with a side of guacamole. The second time I came here, which was earlier tonight, I ordered their chili Colorado with a side of guacamole. Both times their food was pretty good. Their service was really friendly too. Ambiance wise, it's mildly noisy. There's a restaurant side and a bar side. But with people talking, it's not the quietist place to be, but neither is it the loudest. So the -1 star? Both times I ordered guacamole and both times they were forgotten. The first time, I had to flag down my waiter to remind them they forgot the guacamole. Earlier tonight, I gave up on it entirely and told my waiter to take it out from the check. I'm not entirely sure how this has happened twice? The check literally said "add guacamole" and it was forgotten. I swear if I didn't mention it to the waiter, I'd be getting a check with the guacamole price included while not getting it. So definitely check that your order is correct and if not, don't hesitate to tell them. I wish the kitchen was more attentive to make sure not to miss things...

We celebrated a birthday and the presentation was spectacular with a sparkler of sorts. With it, churros and two sauces: chocolate and caramel. The churros stood out because they were soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. And NOT greasy. Truly a favorite now. I rarely drink alcohol, but the rave reviews for the Grand Margaritas enticed me to order one. OK - so now I have my favorite margarita EVER. Not too sweet and no hint of "mix" anywhere. Delectable. Drink we're ok, a lot of ice and not even fill to the top when delivered. Service was friendly enough, and the atmosphere is nice -- I'll give them that. There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.

The burrito was hot and everything felt incorporated versus some taco shops just put cold ingredients together. Burrito was split between the wife and I and it was very filling. Melty cheese pull was a nice touch to know they didn't skimp on ingredients. My only criticism is that the fries are soggy. If they deep fry it to a super crispy texture would make this SO MUCH better. Al pastor taco: was good. They offered a handmade tortilla which was a little extra. The Al pastor wasn't carved off of a "spit" or doesn't appear to be since the cuts appear more clumpy. Otherwise flavor was there and solid.
