    Tacos

It was ok. This was a pretty uninspired set of tacos. I would gave done three stars, but the quality if the chicken and beef was good. I would stop by again if I was hungry and in the area, but I wouldn't make a trip for it.

I ordered three tacos and they were almost $20. They're expensive, and honestly they were the worst. The meat wasn't cooked well, they barely put any meat in them, and the tortillas were not cooked properly either. I would not recommend this

Those who know me well, know that my favorite type of food is a well run taqueria. There's just something about a perfectly cooked street taco eaten with a side of refried lard based bean, spanish rice and an abundance of salsas and maybe some guac on the side. That combi is exactly what drew me to the new Diablo Taqueria on the Westside by the highschool in my hometown of Danville. The prior restaurant was the "Dog" never had the inclination to venture inside when it was the Dog, but once the place converted to a taqueria, I was drawn like a moth the flame. I ordered my usually carnitas street tacos with rice and beans and a side of chips and guac. Stupendously, warm and juicy carnitas, with the perfectly moist, but still structurally secure double wrapped corn tortillas. The chips, rice and bean were as always the stars of the show as well. Perfect amount of lard and spice. Love this place. Dog be gone! I'll be back!!!

Was craving a burrito and as someone who lives in Danville the first place to go would be Chipotle. I was feeling like authentic and found this place. It is in Downtown Danville on Hartz. It's small, a few tables but it's clean. The super pretty cashier was very nice and unlike Chipotle looked happy to be there LOL. I ordered super burrito with no guac and the ingredients tasted clean. Nothing was overly seasoned, I think it was a perfect burrito. The chips were meh like most places around here but the burrito was good, this will be where I go in place of Chipotle.

Had the look but none of the complex mole taste

Big portion of food for the price. Quality of ingredients was good. Good value so what's the issue? While technically cooked well, some of the flavors were lacking. Got the chicken platter with mole sauce to go. The tortillas were warm. The guac, salsas, beans and rice were basic but tasty. Don't know what was lacking but the balance of salty, sweet, bitter, sour and umami was off. Maybe they didn't toast the spices and aromatics or added plain water instead of stock. More likely they just used the stuff from the grocery straight from the jar. Looked and smelled like rich, dark mole sauce. But once it hit the tongue, it didn't deliver on taste. Won't give up just yet. Perhaps ordered the wrong thing? Could be a fresh batch of sauce that just needed a few more hours simmering? Next time will try the quesadillas or burritos. May try other meats.

Super Birria burrito wet style. It was BOMB!

Finally found us a taqueria we loved. Super friendly, super fast and amazing food. Will be back several time!

Super burrito, look at all the folds of tortilla on the left side!!!

I don't mind paying more for great food, but $13 for two taquitos split in half feels like a lot to me. The food itself was... fine. Not bad, but nothing special. Drink we're ok, a lot of ice and not even fill to the top when delivered. Service was friendly enough, and the atmosphere is nice -- I'll give them that. However plenty of better, more authentic (and more reasonably priced) Mexican spots around in my opinion.

Very good service! They're also attentive and constantly asking how the food is or if you may need anything without being over bearing. It's great! The ambiance is fun too! The inside has a really nice design wrapping around the building, there's a salsa bar for your plate or chips. Everything is always clean, no sticky floors, super clean bathrooms and tables are always wiped down nicely. The food is absolutely delicious! That last time I came with my sister and I usually get the chile verde plate, it was phenomenal! It tasted better than it ever has and it made me so happy! I took most of it home. What I noticed about this burrito is that it only came with the meat, beans, and cheese inside. Then it was covered with sauce and cheese on top. I asked for the beans to be replaced with rice. Normally, my burrito is not covered with sauce and the meat, salsa, lettuce, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream are spread out inside my burrito. My beef came in chunks instead of being shredded. I didn't care for the chunky beef. The overall flavor of the burrito was good, however. The sour cream and salsa were also outside of the burrito...on the plate. I would not order this dish again just because the burrito is put together differently than the way I prefer my burrito. Parking is available but may be further away from the restaurant during peak times.

There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.
