The citrus hollandaise complemented all the other flavor elements of the dish perfectly. We shared this dish as we just needed a small lunch before hiking Thompson Road and it was a perfect portion. We came 30 minutes before closing and sat on the patio with beautiful views and enjoyed visits from little birds looking for crumbs. It definitely seems like a popular spot for locals and tourists, for good reason. The Eggs Benedict is only available on Saturday & Sunday so if you're traveling, try to plan to visit on one of those days!

Waiting for almost 30 minutes. * Our order getting mixed up and handed to the wrong person * Confusion about what muffins were available... okay fine, I'll take a blueberry muffin. Then halfway through eating it, I found a hair baked into it * Ordering potatoes without onions because of an allergy, having it made wrong twice, and needing it redone * Noticing the restaurant itself looked like it could use a deep cleaning, including ceiling fans with layers of dust And maybe this was just an off day, but the staff vibe felt... off too. Disconnected. Kind of cliquey. Like everyone seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving guests. The warm, welcoming feeling Grandmas always had just didn't feel like it was there today. As a customer, I honestly felt like I was intruding or inconveniencing the staff just by being there, and that's a really strange feeling in a place we've loved for so long. That's honestly the part that made me the most disappointed. We've loved Grandmas for years, which is why this was tough. I had a Vanilla Coconut Iced Latte (5/5 - great flavor and good quality coffee) and my daughter had the Fruity Pebble Iced Latte (sweet but she loved it). While we were enjoying our drinks, we talked with on of the owners, Michelle, who told us her story. She is a great local business woman with an excellent store. She actually remodeling to be able to do even more. We also had a nibble of her macadamia nut spread and macadamia nut butter on some locally made sourdough bread (6/5). It was all so good. Great location right in the town of Pia'a, simple decor with focus on sandwiches, smoothies, gelato and more. Staff was very friendly and eager to take care of you immediately entering the store. Natalie was very helpful and pleasant and even had a few tips about the Road to Hana. We opted to grab and go our picnic packages and eat them once we arrived at Waianapanapa State Park. The sandwiches were so good, fresh local ingredients prepared with passion, the rolls were fresh and soft. Meats were extremely tasty and plenty of it. The caboose to this flavor train was the house made chocolate chip cookie, soft and decadent with a great way to end our lunch. Great concept and so convenient and reasonably priced. So if you are doing the "Road" stop in and grab the picnic package or if you are visiting Pia'a to do some surfing at Jaws you gotta stop in and get you some of this food. You won't be disappointed.
