Waited an hour when I was told 30 minutes. Then when I complained the female team member said "Well, sometimes we say 30 minutes and it's just a guess." I asserted that I thought it was frustrating to arrive after thirty minutes and then wait another half hour. She said "I go out to eat too, sir." What does that even mean? Came up this way to escape Irma from Florida. Just me and my 10-month-old daughter. The pizza is a bit pricey, yes, but is decent. One thing I was kind of bummed about was, as I do realize this is pretty much an order at the counter, they bring you your food thing, the fact that I was by myself, holding my daughter, diaper bag, wallet, and struggling to grab the cup for the drink/change/etc , the counter girl says "are you by yourself? the high chairs are over there near that door" ...okay. cool. This was our first visit to any of the Lupi's pizza places. We stopped in for Lunch and it was pretty crowded. My wife and I love calzones and split one with chicken and mushroom. Although it was good, I do have to say that this is the first time we've ever ordered a calzone and it didn't come with ricotta cheese in it. I thought that was one of the primary differentiators with a calzone from a folded pizza...the addition of ricotta cheese! It was still very yummy. Next time we'll just add the ricotta as a separate ingredient! The dough is obviously made fresh and the ingredients were also very fresh and good quality. We will be back to try the pizza next, which I assume is their specialty. Worth the trip. read more

What I really appreciate about Lupi's is their authentic flavors. In general, one of the biggest downsides to ordering pizza is getting a pie that is over-seasoned and tastes almost like processed food. Lupi's pizza is some of the freshest I've ever tasted. The crust tastes homemade. The sauce actually tastes like fresh tomatoes. The cheese tastes like fresh cheese. The toppings taste how they should. However, this does present a problem. If you have become accustomed to greasy, over-processed pizza, chances are you will be disappointed with Lupi's. This place really serves up fresh and natural tasting pizza. Everything on the menu is great. I recommended the lasagna as well. The bread comes with a side of dipping oil. GET A CALZONE! Fill it to your heart's content. If you're getting it for yourself, get the mini. It's big. Mini is not a good description. The bigger calzone is massive and could feed 2-3 people. One complaint: the bruschetta is pretty weak. I have always been really disappointed by it. It's toasted bread with a little bit of cheese sprinkled on top (that's been baked and turned crusty) and served with a really tame, cold marinara. This is not a traditional bruschetta. You have been warned. (Also the vibe and staff are really chill. I love it. But when I say chill, I mean chill. Traditional, boring baby boomers who like Olive Garden and listen to oldies stations might not like the vibe. But you'll still love the food!) read more

Our first time at a Lupi's: I got a veggie with fresh and sundried tomatoes, artichokes, spinach, jalapeños, onions and green peppers (after you pay for 4 toppings, no "extra" charge for more). My son got a supreme--both were great! On a Friday night, the crowd was pretty much 20-50 yr olds, with maybe 3-4 kids in the place. Very clean, new agey vibe, similar to Mellow Mushroom but better. Stopped in the Ooltewah locale for my first time eating here. The gf and I wanted pizza on our road trip back home from GA and were not disappointed. The pizza is super solid, great crust with a bite and flavor. I also found the sauce to be nice, not too sweet and perfectly portioned on the pizza. The cheese was browned nicely and had a nice pull without stripping off the pizza. My go to pizza joint is usually Mellow Mushroom because of the crust, and though Lupi's is not that chewy and tasty, I think it's a fine option that is actually a bit cheaper. We have already decided this will be a stop off point for road trips, much nicer than the typical Interstate options. We also bought two chocolate chip cookies, one with nuts and one w/o. I ate the nutty one, could have used more nuts but still a nice dessert option. read more

My boyfriend and I used to order from thins location AT LEAST once a week. We loved ordering from here since it is where we met and the tradition was cute and all. As of lately though our tradition has been Interrupted. For the past several moths, with mostly takeout orders but dine-in as well, the wait times for our pizzas have been very frustrating. If we're told that the order will take 30 minutes, then it ends up taking an hour... one time we waited for a pickup that was estimated at 45 minutes but it took TWO & A HALF HOURS!!! I've worked in the service industry most of my life and I find this unacceptable even if you are in "the weeds" if it's going to take an hour, then just say that... if your having certain difficulties and it's going to take two and a half hours, then just say that. Don't lie to people so that they order from you regardless of the wait time and then get frustrated and hang up on customers and get an attitude because you failed, at the very least, at being truthful or honest with your customers. Not once on these occasions or any of the many others were we offered an apology or any sort of incentive to return. The pizza is good, but it's not THAT good. So, Lupi's of Cambridge Square... we won't be returning then! read more

More like loopy employees. Ordered take out, 2 large pies (5 toppings in the first one, 4 toppings on the 2nd) that amounted to 45$ plus a 5$ tip cause all I saw were college kids working there. No big deal, they must be making it super fresh for me!! When I got home my 1st pie didn't have the sausage I had ordered on it cause instead they had put broccoli in its place!! 2nd pie was fine but man were they both salty. Lucky I was hungry cause instead of eating 5 slices, I couldnt take more then 2. Called and asked to speak to the manager so she could let her colleagues know they're messing up orders and making pizzas too salty! She apologized and that's where she should have stopped, Instead she offers me a free topping on my next visit!! Lol! $50 spent and I get 1 free topping for a messed up pizza!!! It felt like I won the lottery!! After telling her my point of view, she offered 2 options. To remake the pizza or Give me a free appetizer! A month ago they gave our pizza away to someone else, and didn't tell us this until 15+ minutes after they told us our order would be ready. They offered to remake it (which would be an additional 15-20 minute wait) or give us the other party's pizza for free. Ordered carry out pizza today and was warned it would take 45 to 50 minutes. When we arrived at the 45 minute mark, they said it would be 12 more minutes. We are at the 95 minute mark, and still no pizza...... read more

The staff here are very friendly and the service here is good. Nothing wrong with the place except the food. When the best thing I ate here were the croutons on the salad, you know the food is not good. Took one bite of pizza and could not finish the slice. I mean, this is pizza we are talking about, how do you mess up pizza?! It was a big waste of 20 dollars which is not cheap for a small pizza pie. I appreciate that they make their own pizza and use fresh ingredients but when the food does not taste good, there is a problem. All in all I don't think I will be coming back here. I actually liked eating at Lupi's. It was about as good as Mellow Mushroom...and priced accordingly (expensive). I usually eat pizza from Raphael's nearby which is very good and a good price. I'm mostly reviewing the Lupi's in Ooltewah to gripe about the fact that they say that they are open on Sundays from 11:30 until 9 yet at 3 on a Sunday I found their doors locked despite the hours clearly painted on the door. Second visit to Lupi's and not disappointed,we live in Nashville and our daughter lives in ooltewah..didn't give a review first time but had to second visit.July 3rd visiting with a total of 5 people..ordering was quick and pizza selection was limited but the quality of service and food was on point...if you like a amazing wood fired pizza with a crispy crust,fresh ingredients and wonderful service this is the place...remember this is not Pizza Hut and chains like it so you have to wait 30 mins for fresh pizza...I always look forward to the drive from Nashville because of the awesome pizza at Lupi's...see you soon. read more

June 30th 2019, the staff should be embarrassed at just how bad they were tonight. We waited 45 minutes for our 1 Pizza while 6-7 different families who came in after us had already left with their food before we even got ours. No one from the staff came over to us to explain anything or apologize until after 30 minutes when I asked where we were on the list. I was told just 5 more minutes & then it took 15 more. Accidents happen and my wife & I came up through the food industry so we know things happen but I have honestly had better customer service at a fast food restaurant than what we received tonight. We went to the lupi's in Ooltewah last night expecting it to be like the one on East Brainerd. Unfortunately we were very disappointed, the pizzas were definitely not up to par. At $1.95 per topping, you would expect to get an ample of each. I ordered a pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, roasted red pepper, onion and black olives. Although there was sausage and pepperoni, there only about two small pieces of onion and three slices of roasted pepper - and for $1.95 each? It seems to me the owners need to do a much better job of training the kitchen staff because my experience was that they didn't do as good a job as Papa John's. Lupis is typically can't miss on pizza. We always go to the E. Brainerd location. We decided to go to the Ooltewah location so we could sit outside. I am not sure I can list the amount of issues that occurred in one visit. We ordered and sat outside and after 20-25 minutes I went and asked if we were going to get the bread we ordered. Turns out they never put the order in. Oh well, it happens. Unfortunately It shows up 10 minutes later slightly warm at best. (Lupis bread is precooked and only heated and usually very good. About 20 minutes later the pizza showed up. Problem is the 2nd pizza didn't. I waited for 10 minutes and asked and they said it would be right out. At this point, while waiting on pizza 2, I realized we didn't have forks. I asked the waitress for some and she said she would get it. After 10 minutes, no pizza and no forks. Who needs a fork for pizza ? Not me but my little one disagrees. I went back in and asked and the same waitress told me they didn't have any clean right now. I seriously thought I was on candid camera. Two hours I will never get back. Advice for everyone: 1) Don't go to Ooltewah location. 2) Make sure to bring your own forks. 3) Actually bring extra if you are coming tonight, several couples are sitting on the patio and they could use a fork for their salad.
