My first time coming here was in the winter. I had just moved here from Las Vegas and was dying for good Mexican cuisine. I am so happy to have found this place! It is now my favorite place in Grants Pass. If you are on your way to Portland this cute little place is closer to the downtown area of Grants Pass, about 5 min drive off the 5 Freeway. It's a walk up window to order with a side area for seating. In the winter they have the seating area with outdoor heaters and the outside is wrapped with clear tarp. In the summer the seating area is open with hanging plants and fans. They keep this small dining area clean. It over looks Oregon Books and well as the start of Downtown with big trees. In the spring, the bushes are yellow and the trees are pink. Makes for a cute spot with a decent view. Now the important stuff! The food is excellent and the service is spot on! Family owned, it's only open on the weekdays until 5pm. I've always had kind service. My favorite is the Lupita's Tacos which are double wrapped tacos with a layer of beans and cheese between the corn tortillas and one corn tortilla fried crispy. It's the perfect taco. Their salsa is perfect and their hot pickled carrots are a nice complimentary addition to the order. I also highly recommend the fish tacos. I'm a huge fan of SanDiego fish tacos and this place actually matches up nicely to that! My friends have ordered other items on the menu and equally enjoyed!! I come back again and again! read more

Best Mexican food around. Just like the stuff you get in so cal. A lot of other Mexican places try. But they all fail miserably when it comes to taste and quality. My only complaint is I wish they were open Saturday. I highly recommend the pastor. They are the only place in the entire state of oregon that knows how pastor is supposed to taste. The fish tacos are the best your gonna find anywhere. Virtually no breading on the fish. Just cooked to perfection. The home made slaw and sauce on the fish is just a flavor bomb, but light and delicate at the same time. Burritos are the bomb diggity. The chicken is super flavorful and juicy and tender. Yummy! I have had their taquitos, carne asada street tacos, and queuabarrila tacos. All were delicious! It a wonderful little hole in the wall. I have never dined there I think they do have tables, it's open air. For me it's an order at the window and take it with you kind of place. It's perfect spot to grab lunch. read more

In my opinion they have the best tacos in the area . Their Al Pastor is perfect for my taste and add a shrimp taco to that and I'm good to go. I've had and enjoyed their tortilla soup which has good size bites of chicken and avocado. I have never had bad service here and have never had to wait too long even when busy. The lady who I assume is an owner has always been great and friendly to me no matter how busy they are. If your looking for a nice sit down restaurant this isn't exactly it. Horrible experience at Lupita's today. There's no reason to take a customers order if you have no intention of making it. Waited for almost 30 minutes for my order when customers before and after me were given their orders in a timely manner. I went up to the window a couple of times and they said it was coming, then the second time I went up they asked me what I ordered they didn't even have it, they thru the order slip away after I paid cash for my lunch . Won't be returning after the attitude I received from owner and the staff...what a joke ! read more

I saw the bad review and that to me is just shocking to give one star simply because they were probably super busy and forgot your order wow big deal. This woman is a very hard working lady and she is so nice I absolutely adore her! SMH to people who don't give others a break, we are all human beings. No one is perfect! I guarantee that the person leaving the bad review has probably forgotten something at least once in their life if not then they are not a human! One time we had called and ordered quite a bit of food and they were just about to close, I felt bad about that because it was so close to closing, we actually ended up getting pulled over on the way and so we got there a few minutes late, after they closed, they still had our food and they didn't mind whatsoever, they were just happy to see us show up to get it. It was awesome. I had only ordered a lot because I wanted my whole family to try it because I had such a good experience there and I was very excited to share the delicious tacos with my family. Every time I have ordered food I have gotten what I ordered it is always correct and always fresh. You can't beat the price either. I have literally tried shrimp tacos from every establishment and nothing can compare to hers they are so delicious! It is also the perfect amount in my opinion. Sometimes I feel like I could eat more though because they are just so good haha. Can't wait to go back and have some more! The only thing is I wish they stayed open longer. The best Mexican food in the area. I'm a regular there and always bring family and friends... they've been hooked EVERYTIME! The staff is very friendly and I have never had a negative experience. They are very busy but have always served fresh hot food. And they have a lovely bench if you prefer to not wait inside and enjoy the view of downtown. If I could give them 11 stars I would! We are always on the hunt for good Mexican food when driving through Grants Pass. We discovered Lupita's nearly on accident, while driving by. We circled the block, came back, and we're very pleased about that decision! My husband ordered two fish tacos, which are served Baja syle-- fried fish topped with cabbage, a delicious homemade white sauce, and pico de gallo. The sauce worked very nicely with the taco. I ordered a "veggie style" bean rice and cheese burrito, as there wasn't a declared "veggie burrito" on the menu. Veggie style means they'll add lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and salsa. The burrito was nicely flavorful and filling. We also shared an horchata, which was delicious! Now that we know Lupita's location, we will definitely be back when we're in the area! read more

First tried to go several weeks ago; despite online listings as being open until 6 when I arrived at 4:50 was told they were closing at 5 but hadn't bothered to change their hours online, and refused to take an order. Went back today and had a restaurant certificate my wife had purchased online. Owner refused to honor the certificate even though there were no restrictions on the certificate. Despite my better judgement ordered dinner, and it was *meh*. Not the best Mexican in the valley, that is for sure, can't hold a candle to spots in Central Point or White City. read more

Kind of torn here... IMHO the beat mexican food in Grants Pass at time of writing (January 2017), and I have traveled all over Mexico and eat mexican food regularly both at home, and, well, i am one of those types to try every taco truck, restsurant etc. in search of authentic goodness (or as close as you can get in Oregon haha). I have eaten here a lot over the years and always tip well over 20% and refer friends. The staff always smiles at me and food had never been rude, until last week... I took my dad to try it and got my usual (al pastor deluxe 2 lb burrito w/no beans... the al pastor is out of control). My baby is 10 months old and since earing solid food she has puked like once (its very rare), but two days ago, she puked like crazy from something she had eaten (not Lupitas food, FYI), so we informed the staff and switched tables. Now I have worked at restaurants for years and I have cleaned up some foul *$!# before, even when it wasnt my job, because keeping a reataurant running is a huge team effort, and keeping customers happy is priority #1 (or it should be). So when the lady came out and and plopped down some rubber gloves and rags and said "you clean" I was seething inside. I was so stunned I just sat there. When my wife went to clean it I stopped her and wiped it up, albeit VERY begrudgingly. IDK what her problem was, baby puke doesn't even stink. Like i said I am torn, for your sake know that the food is fantastic and prices are great, but having worked at a lot of restaurants, making a customer clean a spontsneous mess - NOT EVEN A MESS WE MADE EATING - is absolutely unacceptable. Food is mediocre, and the SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! UPDATE your MENU, MORONS! I was GROSSLY overcharged for something that was listed on their OUTDATED MENU as less than half the amount they charged. My recent experience was with their so called "picante burger," which they listed as double meat, double cheese, grilled jalapenos, included with mayo, tomato, onion, lettuce, and .75 for an add-on. The burger they served had two, measly, beef patties, NO CHEESE, jalapenos were NOT PROPERLY grilled; looking as if they had been chopped by a 2 year old, about a tsp. of tomato and onion, tiny amount of lettuce, and SOGGY BUN! As for the add-on: they charged $3 for what amounted to about a TBSP of avocado! NOT COOL! WORST BURGER I EVER HAD!!! And to make this whole experience even MORE DISGUSTING was that they placed fries in a STYROFOAM BOX W/O a protective liner, so that the FRIES MELTED THROUGH THE BOX!!! SHEER IGNORANCE! Even that they are still using these Styroboxes in the first place. If the food had not been delivered I would have left it there, and saved $13.50!!! I am never going back. I hope that this very accessible location can be more optimally utilized by better business people in the food service industry. read more
