Pesto 14"
Kyle P.

Debuting about a month ago, Lusha is wood-fired pizza made with care by folks from Firenze. Lusha has all the ingredients to be a 5 star pizza spot, but they fell just a bit short on this first visit. High quality ingredients and a perfectly cooked, chewy crust are the stars of the show. They immediately hold the mantle of best cheese on a pizza in Chicago, real mozzarella reminiscent of the best of the best back home in New York. A true highlight, along with a pretty well-seasoned, perfectly executed dough and crust. What I'd love to see to put them over the top is better seasoning. The pesto was a bit oily and lackluster to be honest, not adding as much flavor and contrast as I would have expected. Quite honestly, all it needs is some extra salt and pepper, long an issue with Chicago pizza, but surprising from pizza makers from Italy. I will definitely be back to try some other styles, and I have a lot of confidence I'll be updating this review to a 5 down the line. Either way, once you add your own salt and pepper, Lusha is immediately in the conversation for top 5 pizza spots in this city.

This pizza is unmatched in Lakeview. I happened to walk by so I grabbed 2 slices for dinner. The crust is crispy but also soft in the middle, buttery, cheese and toppings are super fresh. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Highly recommend.

This place is wonderful! The pizzas are crispy, tasty and authentic. Definitely 1000% recommended.

Half cheese half Lusha pizza

Friendly (family owned?) staff with a variety of pizza (both whole pies and by the slice), pastas, and desserts. We got a whole pie: half cheese and half Lusha, both of which were delicious! All the ingredients had flavor from the cheese to the sauce to the crust. I definitely recommend them and can't wait to come try out more. We also tried a strawberry dessert and a Nutella dessert, both of which we enjoyed. It's in a cute little space with some seating for those who want to dine in.

Ordered from Lusha a few times before. This place produces pizza that is a perfect balance between New York and Neapolitan styles. The crust is soft and chewy with a crispy base yet tastes like a rustic slice from Spacca Napoli. Every time it's been consistently great, authentic, and a nice break from tavern/deep dish.

This pizza is incredible. The family who runs this is so sweet - they use a lot of ingredients from Italy, and you can tell. We chatted with them for quite a while learning about their journey from Florence to Chicago. We ordered a medium sausage and a Caesar pizza. The dough alone is worth it - thin and crispy crust, but not too much. It was lighter on the sauce and cheese, which was truly perfect. We will absolutely be back. Go support this new pizza place!

The owners of Lusha are an Italian family who moved to Chicago from Florence 2 years ago, and you can taste it in the pie. Chicago is overflowing with good deep dish, tavern style, and specialty thin crust pizza, but is severely lacking in great, reliable, classic NY style slices. Lusha fills this void perfectly. Make sure you try the pizza AND the wings. It seems like a lot of pizza joints in town have wings on the menu to check a box, but Lusha's are phenomenal.

Nutella pizza

I was so excited to see a local, family-owned pizza place open in the neighborhood and have been visiting since they've opened. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the Lusha and Pepperoni pizzas are favorites of mine. The crust is thin and not too crispy, and along with the other ingredients makes for some incredibly tasty pizza. I also love the Nutella dessert pizza calzone packed with a generous portion of Nutella spread and strawberries. They also have tiramisu and cheesecake. Chatting with the family was also wonderful to hear how Lusha got started after they left Florence for Chicago. You can tell a lot of care went in to everything. With so many chains in Lakeview, Lusha is such a great new addition.

Every time I visit, the decor never ceases to impress. It's classy but unpretentious and you can tell folks are there to have a good time. We arrived at about 8:30pm on a Saturday and it was packed. Luckily, we were able to snag seats at a bar before a table opened up around 9pm. A note that they don't take reservations (but I kind of wish they did!), so this isn't the place to go if you're in a rush. They had a special seasonal menu going for the holiday, and we started with the reuben hush puppies. While they were more like croquettes, they were extra crispy, cheesy, and juicy with the most delicious thousand island dressing. I wish they would offer this year round! For mains, we ordered the corned beef and buddha bowl. I really liked the horseradish aioli that came with the beef- while the meat could've been more tender, it had a great flavor overall. The cabbage actually tasted pickled and the carrots sweet; non-traditional, but tasty! The buddha bowl had a very wide range of veggies and perfectly cooked rice. I could drink that spicy peanut sauce. I appreciated how large the portions were, which definitely softened the price as we left with plenty of leftovers. All in all, we had a great experience- if you haven't checked Wilde out, I highly recommend doing so!

I heard off this place from an Instagram video from a food blogger. There wasn't initially seating when we first got in, but the bartender/hostess helped us make a makeshift table. We also didn't have a chair so she had to go find a chair and she found one so really appreciate her hustle. The wings came out pretty quickly, the honey barbecue wings were really sweet, and came with a substantial amount of sauce. The ranch was impeccable. It was not too thin and came with celery. The birds nest hot sauce was relatively hot for a medium. I was definitely feeling the spice after two or three. I think there was a little too much sauce on the wings for me, personally, but overall very good. The volume is really loud because everyone was there for the game, so we kinda had to yell over each other to have a conversation. We got our check pretty quickly and the servers were really attentive. I would definitely come back if I was in the area, but I probably wouldn't come all the way from River North for this again.

We came here hoping for some good food with some drinks and we really enjoyed our experience overall. The place got really packed over the course of our time here with more people who had the same idea as us. With that came slower service and our server forgot a few things and mixed up our drinks but she was really nice and it didn't affect our experience all too much. My friend ordered a burger and my partner and I split an appetizer. We got pretzel bites and 1/2 pound of jumbo fried shrimp and everything was actually so good! We were impressed. After a bunch of drinks and food, the bill was pretty up there in price as expected. My only two complaints was that the bouncer guy at the beginning was a little weird and didn't make us feel exactly welcomed when he sat us. Secondly, it took forever for us to pay to get out of the place because the bartender/servers were inundated with people. They also were vaping behind the counter and not showing enough urgency when they were so many people waiting to order drinks and also customers at tables waiting on food, service, etc. I figure coming back here on a less busy day would be the best idea. Can't imagine what it's like during Cubs games. Yikes
